DH spend £1.49 yesterday getting me some milk so we have now started. Today is big shop day so I will be trying to stick to about £40, luckily I have been brewing beer thats ready in the next week so I do not have to buy DH any alcohol for the month, that saves me quite a bit, I will be adding the cost of the brewing sugar and caps to the budget when I get the next lot in though as it would be part of it if I was buying his Ale.

Well done JIL on evading the shops and making another meal out of what you have.its suprising how much you can save by adapting what you have . So far I have had one shopping day out of four this month and looking at my stocks I can't see any reason to go anywhere near the shops for a couple of weeks The only thing that I could do with as I have run out is some kitchen Roll but its not mega important I can do without it for a little while and just wipe up any spills with a dishcloth.I am going to sort out my store cupboards today as they do need rearranging and the lists that I stick to the inside of the doors updating.Cheese salad for dinner tonight with some new potatos from the fridge that need using up.I may also make myself a vat of veggie soup from the 'free' veg that I got from Sainsburys, that will 'extend 'my dinnertimes this week.
Keep up the good work everyone we all seem to be doing really well this month with hanging on to our cash.

    Thank you for the welcome.

Hubby went shopping for a few bits on the 2nd and it came to £17. As DH says that he will pay for these bits, I have decided to put the £17 from my money into our 'rainy day' fund. I have enough food items in the freezer/pantry to last us quite a while so I shouldn't need to buy anything else until Friday when I will pop to the farm shop for our veg.

I have quite a lot of tomatoes to use up, so I will be making salsa this afternoon (never done this before). Also, I need to find my bread machine recipe book so that I can have a go at making bread rolls for DH lunches.

    Morning all!

I've scarily spent £137 from my GC so far!! EEeeekk!! I will need milk and bread - probably tomorrow. We have a f&v box delivery on Friday and then on Sat I plan to go to Sainsbugs - I have a £12 off £60 coupon - I know it's a ploy by them, but I'll need some shopping by then and will count the shopping as I go round the shop and stock up on a couple of offers. S are my favourite supermarket, anyway (well, Waitrose is really, but there's not one handy to me :( )

Both freezers are full, the pantry is full and we've been harvesting strawberries & salad leaves from the garden. Potatoes are almost ready to start lifting. Runner beans and tomatoes are pathetic - as are carrots & peppers & chillis :(

Total so far includes a massive bag of hay and an even larger one of woodshavings for the guinea pigs (as well as oats and veg for them)

£18.41 spent so far this month mostly on fruit & veg and would you believe it - theres hardly any left just a few cherries, grapes and two oranges - so will have to go and get some either later today or tomorrow.
Nice to see so many new members on here and hope everyone is well and saving some money.
