Just a quick stop at MrT for squash and bananas = £2 out of £160. Need to go shopping tomorrow though.
Good luck for this month, folks, especially those among us with kids too as this is the 5 weekend month as well as Scottish school hols. I remember the days when mine were younger with hollow legs. These days it is mostly DH and me with various older kids coming and going. None staying this month as far as I know. 2 hungry dogs but i don't count them in this budget, luckily as the oldie is on expensive food and 2 lots of tablets now. A precious old soul though!

i was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this problem?

Yes, mine came free from the milk man with the bagged milk. Even using the bagged milk it still made an awful mess and it was hard to clean. It gt recycled after the third attempt to use it.

  • Started a new job today (same company, new team) so felt obliged to go for lunch in the canteen with them- £5 for soup and a can of coke!! Outrageous. They'll probably think I'm rude, but I can't afford to eat with them every week :(

Decided this week we will eat what we have in and even though i desperately wanted to pop to the shops on the way home from work I resisted and came home picked some courgettes from the garden, and made it into a ratatouille with the left over half of an aubergine, a lurking pepper an onion and a left over half a jar of pasta sauce.
I have posted before to say my freezer is heaving but I then had to find room for the two portions of left over ratatouille, which I did by getting out tomorrows dinner and putting it in the fridge to defrost. I cannot post an angel smiley as i am doing a quick reply but if i could i most certainly would
  • Afternoon all! Just updating for the weekend! Spent £6 in Poundworld getting some cleaning stuff, and spent £3 in Iceland getting some treats and ketchup (£1! bargain).

Also waiting for a Mr. T order to come through on my bank but I think we spent about £66. Got £10 off and a £1.50 clubcard voucher used! Only prob with it was that we ordered a 500g pack of chicken breasts for £3 (bargain), but they substituted that for a 250g pack for the same price!! But other than that nothing really spent! :T Will go and update sig now.

PS - Hippiechiq and Spiggle - let us know you are ok even if you don't want to post, missing you

    Hello All,

Thank you so much sistercas, Chloris, guccigoo and helen jelly for your good wishes - good to see you're all still here. Sorry i've been MIA but everything got very strange in April and then May and I couldn't keep up with posting. But I did keep track and I've posted my figures on the respective threads.

I won't go into detail but suffice to say that the experts' worst fears were not confirmed and I will be with you for some time yet, thankfully. I hope everyone else who had such a difficult spring is starting to get better too.

Thanks to Pink winged and rosieben for the thread(s) and my best wishes to Mrs McCawber. Please put me down for £240 for July. Thank you.

My sig is half updated - the grocery spend is done but I haven't sored out the debt/motgage bits yet.

I have to go now as my supper is ready but I'll be back tomorrow evening and look forward to seeing you then.

Take care everyone and keep those purse strings tightly pulled!

    All the best,
    Spigs

Just done my weekly shop in Mr.M's. Spent £60.95, which was more than I planned to spend but we are well stocked up now, so next weeks shop should balance it out. Total so far for July is £107.88, though is up to the 24th of the month, as payday is 25th of each month! Should be OK I'm hoping!
