Hi Ladies
Not as busy as usual on here latelyI am planning to make some decorations for my xmas cake am thinking of buying these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STAEDTLER-ICING-CHOCOLATE-SUGARPASTE-CLAY-PUSH-MOULD-/180729062533?pt=UK_Kitchen_Accessories&var=&hash=item2a144aa485
Do you think I would be better off using florists paste instead of sugar paste as it will be a bit firmer so easier to remove
TIA
they look great, i use sugarpaste in my moulds but i guess florist paste will be easier to work with plus they will harden quicker. ps its cheaper here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Staedtler-Fimo-Clay-Wax-Soap-Food-Ice-Push-Mould-Merry-Christmas-Moulds-/230856671040?pt=UK_Crafts_PapercraftTools_RL&hash=item35c0213f40You're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -

Hi there
I'm going to attempt to make a Harry Potter cake for my son's birthday in a couple of weeks - I am a complete novice so it will be a miracle if it all comes together!! I want to make a harry potter book and the one that I’ve seen uses a 20cm square cake tin, it looks rather big so I wondered if I’d need to use more ingredients than used for a standard round tin? It also says to airbrush the words on the front of the book with edible gold paint - I wondered do I need to do this with an airbrush gun or could I just use a normal brush to paint it on - and how does the gold paint stick onto the fondant??? Any and all help would be much appreciated!! Many thanks!!!0 -
Hi all, decided to make the ultimate chocolate cake from the bbc good food website, http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3092/ultimate-chocolate-cake but I couldn't get any buttermilk.
I just need 5 tbsps but after looking on the internet I found that you can replace with milk/lemon juice mix or you can use plain yoghurt apparently.
Has anyone used these as substitutions or anything else?
Thanks to anyone who can help!!0 -
I make banana bread using John Barrowman's recipe from the BBC site. It calls for buttermilk, which I never buy, and so I just add lemon juice to ordinary milk.
From the recipe.........
85ml/3fl oz buttermilk (or normal milk mixed with 1½ tsp lemon juice or vinegar)

That chocolate cake looks yummyMight have to try that
