This is the recipe http://cakejournal.com/recipes/best-banana-cupcakes/ and for the caramel centre I boiled a tin of condensed milk for 3 Hours-(you can buy it ready made) and when cupcakes came out of oven and were still hot I injected them with about half of the caramel. The other half I added to my normal buttercream after I'd made it and just mixed it in. Let's just say, there are none left!0 -
Nannyto9, I don't know how many posts do you need to be able to put pix here but what I did was I used photobucket to be able to post pix here! I copy and paste the IMG and then presto! Pictures uploaded... Hope it helps.
Sarahlasvegas, So sorry I wasn't able to reply quickly about the cupcake carrier cos I was busy at work but the ladies already answered your question for me anyway. The carrier is reversible that's why you can hold 12/24 cupcakes.
Worth the price I think cos cupcake boxes are too expensive. xxx
Right, I made a Burger Cake the other day for my boss cos he's leaving. He was so chuffed that he even sent a photo of it to our Head Office, and guess what... they love it too! :T He showed my cake to everybody at work and because of that I now have 3 orders from my colleagues. I'm really happy but so nervous cos I have never sold my cakes. I have only ever made them for family and friends. I told her I have never tried baking a victoria sponge which she wants but she said I could work it out somehow. Do you have a recipe I could use in this specific order? Please help! To all ladies who sell cakes, how much would you suggest I charged a victoria sponge cake, 10"? She wants an Xbox cake cos her bf is quite addicted to it atm.

Victoria sponge is the easiest cake
Recipe I use is:
200g Caster Sugar
200b butter (unsalted) softened (I have great fun softening butter lol:o
4 medium eggs
200g Self Rasing Flour
1tsp baking powder
a dash of milk is great if the mix gets a little dry
Sometimes I add a splash of vanilla too
Oh and obviously you need buttercream (or whipped double cream) for the centre, but you'll know how to make buttercream
Have you got a pic of the burger cake?If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
right time for bed now i've finished this cake...

Hi Could I jsut ask how did you manage to boil the ilk for 3 hrs did you do it in a slow cooker? Should imagine if it was in a pan it would burn
Thanks0 -
No,it doesn't burn. Bring a large pan to the boil, pop in the can, covering it completely, and simmer for 3 hours. If pan needs topping up, just add boiling water from the kettle. Do keep an eye on it, but it should be fine.

There was a page on here or on a previous thread about mixers does anyone have the link or know the outcome where the best place to buy my poor almost 40yr old kenwood just died and i really fancy a pink kitchenaid one but cant find it much cheaper than £400!!
I was looking for a thread on Kenwoods and found this. What did you do in the end? My almost 50-year-old Kenwood died last week and I simply went on eBay and bought another one the same model so that all my accessories could still be used. It cost me all of £21 and it's in better condition than mine was.
If you really want it pink, the website kenwoodchefrestore seems to have really good reviews and they can repaint it for you! No idea how much it costs. I made a washable cover for mine so the colour doesn't matter -- it matches the kitchen blind, keeps the Kenwood clean and goes in the washing machine. I used left-over fabric and an old coat to give it some body.0 -
Shegirl, Thank you so much for your recipe.
I know it's a basic cake but funny enough I really don't bake it cos my husband is not a fan. He's more on a fruity type of cake.
Anyway, what temperature do I need and for how long it needs to bake? So sorry about this. Thanks again. x
For your request, here is my burger cake. Just a top view though...0 -
