TIP: if you smash a window don't smash the small triangley shaped one near the back... its the most expensive to replace.;)
If your covered on car insurance for windscreen replacement, it should only cost you the excess to get the window replaced. Windscreen replacement just doesn't mean its for the "windscreen", its for other windows also.
Its always advisable to break a window which has a frame around it. If the glass isn't in stock, it can be temp fitted with a piece of perspex. It will make it look secure and weatherproof also. Better than a gaping hole, this time of year.
I used to work for RAC Autowindscreens, sad I know, but at least I picked up some great tips.
Anyway - Afternoon all - hope we are well
Had a busy & productive day at work.. Received 2 gifts from my work colleagues. Which was nice, Ive not been there all that long, and wasn't expecting anything. Plus I received £30 of M&S vouchers from the company as a Xmas gift.
I also had my appraisal, which went well.
Came home to find the house a tip, with the babysitter here, and kids just get everything out. So it was a quick tidy up before hitting this thread.
Beef stew cooking nicely in the SC, smells lovely. WM on (again) its never ending.
Rabbit seems better today, still struggling with his back legs, still having to hand feed & water him. Bless him!
The frost from this morning has not melted. OH de-iced the car for me before walking to work, it had frozen up again by the time I needed to use it.
Better be off and make a start on ironing uniforms for work tomorrow
Have a great evening all - Take care

Hi everyone, back after a while.
Am panicking slightly as dh is in Malaysia at the moment and is due into Heathrow tomorrow to fly back home to NI. AAAAAAGH! His mother arrives tomorrow - I just hope he can get a flight out of somewhere.... there's no fog here either.
Am more or less ready - having a big tidy up today so that I can finish the wrapping tomorrow morning. As for food, veggies are delivered tomorrow and after that - if it's not in the house now - tough! Also need to finish the foot and toe of a sock for dh - nice glass of wine tonight and something good on the telly should do it.
I agree with the previous posters - Christmas Eve for me is the special day - although Christmas day will be multi cultural as we are having students to dinner from Japan, Thailand and Morocco - should be fun
Congrats to Mr PenPen - what a lovely time to find out...“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Hiya folks,
Not managed to get on the daily for getting on for a week i think, although as i'm quite tired, not quite sure.
I've managed to catch up on reading the threads today while doing the never ending round of feeding/winding/changing Charlie. He's fed every 1-1.5 hours today, which has let me catch up on my reading of threads. :rotfl: I think he has nearly cleared his cold, and the 1st lot of jabs he had on Tuesday didn't appear to cause him grief, so we have hopefully cracked it for xmas. Think he will be getting some bottles of formula however to give me a bit of a rest as i can't keep this pace up as i am getting nothing else done.
All shopping is just about done. I just need to pick up a couple of bottles of booze, and a joint of ham locally, and that is it. Thankfully mum is doing dinner. (or should i say my dad will actually be sorting it, mum just dishes up) I would have done this today but i've been waiting all day for a delivery, which i am thinking now won't turn up. It will be a bit of a pain as tomorrow is mega busy.
Tomorrows plan is, take charlie to baby clinic to be weighed, do the local shopping, pay cheque into bank. go into work (school) for the staff end of term get together as one of my close colleagues is retiring, and also they will be celebrating OFSTED inspection and getting out of special measures. It's always a good chance to catch up. I then have to take some stuff to my mums, so i can imagine that i will be out all day.
I'm imagining i won't get back in to post, so have a fabby xmas all of you. I'll also be relly visiting, so my next post might be in 2007!
 Hugs all round, Michelle, xx0 -
Just wanted to say thanks for the welcome I have received on this forum - you are a great bunch of folk. I have followed so many links, dowloaded recipes etc (a fish pie one today which OH is drooling over!) that now we are not earning so much will be a great help.
Just wrapped the last pressie (I think/hope)!:D
Thriftmonster Hope flights go to plan. My DS and partner due from Dublin tomorrow but no fog (yet) thank goodness.
Cha97michelle Give Charlie a bit of formula. My daughter breast fed both boys until a year but we gave them formula now and then from a fairly early age. It meant Granny and Grandad could have them for a sleepover every 3-4 weeks or so. Great fun for us and a godsend to my daughter and husband.0 -
Hi all. Had a productive day so far.
Took HM cakes to uncle this morning and got our xmas pressie from him
Went to the dance shop where OH immediatly found a pair of trainers he liked - thank goodness! :j We have been searching (and he has been rejecting  ) every pair he has seen for nearly 2 years now. His pair has a big hole in the side, so he really needed a new pair.
Then off to the farm shop for fruit and veges for the next week - I am always amazed how cheap they are - best quality and cheaper as they have no packaging at all. I also prefer to just get how many I need (there is just the 2 of us) - 3 carrots, 1 leek etc
Anyway, have made big banoffee pie and mincemeat squares for our dance party tonight (3rd one this week).
I am just having a catch up here, then off to cook Chinese Chicken and Almond for teaSave the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0 -

Well today's been productive, choccy yule log is decorated, christmas table cloths/napkins/runners are all ironed and folded and ready to go - nice cutlery is washed and buffed and there's a menu planner and timetable pinned to the fridge for the next few days.
Crackers are made, fridge is stacked and apart from 4 shirts to iron, I'm done!
This will be the last time I get on before Christmas as it all kicks off with guests tomorow so I wish you all a very merry christmas and hope it all goes just as you planned. :xmassign: :xmastree: :snow_laug"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
