    Morning all!
Catzine - A great big hug to you. Raise a glass to her tonight and thank her for teaching you how to be happy and smile - I don't think I've ever known you to me down and gloomy!
Congratulations to your Hubby Pen, it's nice to know that some employers do still recognise and reward loyalty - even if it's quite a while before they can do so. A well deserved promotion by the sound of it - and the best kind to have.
As for amazon, I never had any problems until this year when they started using a different courier. First problem was with a college book - £40. Account said it had been delivered, chased it up, but no sign. A few days later a total stranger (and we know most of our neighbours) brought it round saying he kept forgetting to drop it in. I wasn't in at the time (DS took it) so couldn't query it. The parcel was damp and the pages warped. I know I should've persued it but was so busy with college and just relieved to finally have it.
Second time they used the courier my parcel (over £50) was left in the cushion box at the end of our drive. I only use this to keep our recycling dry - while I have good neighbours in the street we get allsorts snooping around up here, and there have been a few break ins. My advice would be to keep on their case - oh, and I nearly forgot, you can speak to their customer services by phone. I managed to find a link on their website that got them to call you back - and it was instant. It wasn't something I bookmarked (silly me)
Nice result on the freebie tint Tired mum! Another treatment you might want to try is the massages/reflexology etc if you llike that sort of thing and they do it at your college. If they do and you like your therapist make sure you ask if they are looking for case studies - you could get a series of treatments free ;)
Penny Pincher - you made me giggle referring to Nels new sofa as a 'chocolate sofa'.... we'll all be 'roound for a munch later Nelski :D and we can all admire penn's thermals while we're at it ;)
Alfie - love the Boss's chrismas bonus - especially as it's to be taken in work time. I think that's the nicest bonus I've ever heared of!
Catowen - brilliant news about your loo.... I can see you being so pleased you'll be eating christmas lunch in there! Actually my favourite crimbo ornament is one I have of a small wood hut - you open the door and there santa is, doing 'his thing' ;)
Arni&casseisma - well impressed with your ebay sales. FEel gutted now that I didn't get around to listing mine in time for crimbo.
Mrsmix - that'll be me later (idiot doing christmas shopping late with trolley full in Asda). I've really not done the O/S proud with my christmas organising!

Well - I've been a good girl and seen to my fridge (please take a look at my thread if you've got a minute) so I'm now allowed on MSE. I've also got a load on the line (getting 'fresh' - no chance of it drying, lol) and another in the wash. I've tidied my bedroom and the kitchen and finally read all of today's thread. 'phew.
Now I need to work out a menu plan, shopping list and then brave Asda (yikes!!!!) - oh, and make pizza dough for tonights dinner.
Not a lot really - but I'm guessing Asda will take up most of the day (silly silly me for not booking a slot soon enough, bad, bad girl.... mutter, mutter....)

    Hugs to everyone,
    Love,
    Kaz x

    Morning,

Probably wont be on here much today as OH wants to do his essay. Grr! Which means I have to clean the flat. GRRRRRRR!

Will be doing my Tesco shop online later as I forgot you can go back in and change the order (thanks pawpurrs! :) )

Was going to head into town early this morning to get my last couple of pressies - but woke up late, so I'll have to go tomorrow.

    Morning everyone:)

Congrats to all the partners with new jobs and hugs to those that need them, especially Catznine.

Just had a snotty woman on the phone asking for a Mrs Partington, I knew she was after me as my name is not far from it but as she was so rude I decided to keep her guessing for a bit longer. After a couple of minutes I admitted that my name was mrs F******** to which she said "Oh so it's just a matter of replacing the P with an F, you could have told me" to which I replied in my snottiest voice "no, because that would have made me Mrs FARTington" she didn't share my amusement in my joke but it did cheer me up :rotfl: , I can't stand snotty telephone peeps.

Anyway, the boys are off christmas shopping and have been told to stay out for lunch, dd was supposed to be asleep but has just woken up and I was hoping for some peace to wrap presents. I have managed to get a fair bit of sorting and tidying up done though.

Managed to jazz up some plain chicken breasts last night with some Brie from the fridge, some cranberries that were going to be made into sauce and some streky bacon that part of the packet is going to go on top of the turkey. Very tasty and festive it was too. I am cooking a beef potroast tonight.

Have a good day everyone :)

Woke up and opened the bedroom curtains and ----"freezing fog!"

Staying in the warm this morning and then haveing a look at the local market.
Made sausage sandwiches for Dds and friend for breakfast.

No idea what to have tonight - might make sweet potato cakes or else potato wedges.

Wanted to send flowers to elderly auntie as the weather means we may not be able to drive 80 miles away on the Saturday. Was going to use valueflora but saw quite a few bad comments on them on the vent board so used Bunches instead,
Ordered a Butterfly bouquet which comes with free chocolates and if ordered before 11 a.m. today they will try to deliver it by the 22nd.

Then DH decided to send another three bouquets to elderly relatives so I was frantically looking up postcodes etc and trying to get them all ordered in time. Just made it with 10 minutes to spare! Phew.

Need a cup of coffeee and a browse on here to calm my nerves.

DH has just informed me there is a funny smell in the kitchen - not my cooking - honest.

The sink seems to be blocked so loads of vinegar and bicarbonate have been put down it and in about half an hour a kettle full of boiling water will be emptied down the sink! I would rather use that tham Mr.M*******!

Hugs to all and have a happy Christmas.

    Morning everybody :hello:(EDIT: sorry, afternoon)

Went for dinner with my dad last night to a restaurant which neither of us had been to for a while, the service was appalling so Dad complained and we got free dessert, coffee and no service charge :T I handed over my Christmas present to Dad and got a couple in return, one of which feels and smells suspiciously like a 4-pack of Lush bath bombs :D and the other I think is a book. He also said not to open the card until Christmas Day either as there "might be another present in it" - oh goody, that will probably be a cheque for £100 unless my father has suddenly developed an imagination :D which I hope he hasn't as I REALLY need some new clothes, particularly office-type trousers and some bras.

I THINK I also managed to talk my dad into coming round to put up my curtains :D

Had a  moment yesterday. Ever since I moved into the flat I'd thought the heated towel rail in the bathroom didn't work, and have been freezing in the mornings while having a shower. Yesterday by process of elimination I realised that there was an isolator switch for it above the bathroom door which I'd never switched on  so NOW it works

Just spent £254.84 on flatpack furniture on the Argos website  as it occurred to me that I'm supposed to be sorting out the flat over the Christmas break, and there's not a lot I can do when I don't own any shelving or storage to unpack all my CDs/books/files/videos into (which together make up the majority of what seems like a million boxes stacked in my hallway!). Also ordered TV unit and hi-fi stand so I can reclaim my coffee table which currently has my TV and video on it. It's all due to turn up next Thursday "sometime between 7:00 and 18:00" - great  - bet it's closer to 18:00 than 7:00!

My brother just rang to say his Christmas present from me has arrived :T - I risked ParcelPost a few days late as first class was so pricey!

Nelski your new sofa sounds gorgeous, must come and see it sometime (what's more, you must come and see mine).

PenPen - congrats to Mr Penguin!

Penny-Pincher!! - maybe we should get together for a cuppa over the Christmas break :)

Must go, have to pay some stuff into the bank including my incentive cheque from my flat purchase, which finally materialised just in time for Christmas - hurrah!

    Rzl xx

EDIT: Hurrah! My broadband should be online by Wednesday...

am going down with a cold, very throaty this morning, felt achy last nite and wanted bath and bed BUT I soldiered on and made a coffee n walnut cake for boss pressie (which he might just get slapped in his face if i dont get paid!)
and made TWO bread puddings as requests from MIL and Sister! phew!

Yes the fog and cold has set off the "flat battery" syndrome:rotfl: had to help out a neighbour this morning with the jump leads etc!

Went to Icelands very early this morning before the rush - but I found the xmas party food abit disappointing this year - am I the only one that thinks this? so will look to see what Mr T/Asda have got.

nelski - oo I didnt realise a next sale was on! that new suite sounds lovely - I really fancy a "brown or should I say chocolate" leather one too! was hoping to find a bargain in the sales!

csarina - Funny last nite I was onto a friend trying to explain about MSN and Myspace - I couldnt believe who long it took - step-by-step and he still didnt manage to open up myspace! :wall: Sometimes he so intelligent about things and others just fail him!

penpen - good news about hubbys new position:T drinks are on you then:D

catznine - ((hugs)) I was only talking to my DH last nite that we too have alot of death anniversaries this time of year. We are going to the cemetary on saturday to his fathers grave (take his mum).

Have a good day everyone, and if I dont manage to get on here again, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    Hi everyone!
It's jolly nippy here today so am sitting here at work looking ultra glamourous with my gorgeous fleece on...meanwhile my bosses [hubby and wife] have headed out for fish and chips!
Last day today...not in the mood for working at all although have done some of the web design course I'm currently doing as OH and I definitely need to get a site up and running for his business in 2007 [only been talkinga about it for 2 years!!] Spent a lot of time investigation the MS online clipart library...strictly for research for the site you understand!
OH has just rung to say he and the small person have put the decs and tree up. Can't wait until tonight...shall put all the main lights out so can enjoy the tree lights. I always find it really magical!
It's Yule for me today [happy solstice for those who celebrate. We're having a special supper with beer and followed by a choc Yule log as haven't been able to get to the woods this year as am here instead.
Shall be offline now [unless I can sneak in at some point over the festive period] so :xmassign: Old Stylers!!
