I heard rumours ages ago that Monsoon weren't doing well. I hope it isn't them- or Debenhams as I buy a lot of my stuff there.

I'm amazed BHS have kept going, they haven't really moved with the times. Wallis always seems quiet to me too and overpriced these days.

Crikey... this is getting worrying with all these well known longstanding companies going and all those poor people losing jobs!

I did wonder when I read this post if one of them might be Dorothy Perkins... it's never very busy in any of the stores around here!

I guess they don't really have a target market (like they did years ago) anymore do they - I mean younger people shop at places like New Look and River Island, and I reckon a lot of people aged 25+ who would have gone there shop at places like Next now.

Really feel for the workers of all these places going under! :(

Peacock's has to be number one candidate going by my local store .

Only been in twice in 5 years and realised why it is always empty, more staff than customers and worse tat than Primark !

I hope it's not River Island as I gave my niece some of their gift vouchers last week for her 17th. I'd better check if she's spent them yet, and if not she should get a move on just in case they go bust.

I can't see its peacocks or d Perkins, wasn't it republic who was in trouble last year
  • My friend's daughter works for River Island and she said there were whisperings of them going into adminerstration last year.

I hope not though, i just spent a fortune in their sale this morning and some of it will probably be returned :S
