Apparantly he threw himself out of a moving police car, and then tried to slit his wrists, he left the dogs in the car and then travelled to London for work, he only 'remembered' the dogs hours later  the suffering they must have gone through is unimaginable :mad::mad:
BB sorry to hear about the tent
There's actually some people trying to condone his behaviour, in another thread:mad::mad:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Afternoon all,
Nice to see you posting Lou...take care of yourself.
Nice day here, 2 loads of washing on line, all floor mats washed, ham and cabbage (hg) cooking, will have with potatoes, then have some of the banana cake (for want of a better word) I made this morning with some apricots, peaches and mixed fruit from garden....not sure if there is any icecream in freezer, if so some of that too!
Bloody birds got all my red currants last week, grrr! Really need to get some more rhubarb frozen, love it in winter and we don't seem to have as many apples to dry/freeze this year, so need to make the most of what there is.
Had a bit of good news this morning....some extra money went into my pension last week and I wondered why, rang and it appears that I am entitled to extra adult dependant allowance now that I have turned 66....knew that there had to be something positive about that!
Hester....you nearly always give me a laugh and didn't let me down today....I was married in 1970 in a mini and you reminded me that when I woke on morning of the wedding, decided dress was too long and took it up 2 inches....my mother had a conniption but I was right....it was too long!
Gillian....so sorry to hear about your cat....sad to lose one, but surely the people who own the dog must be responsible for their animal....nothing will bring your cat back but there would be some satisfaction if they were fined.
Donny-gal....glad to hear that purchase is going through, prepare to be skint....some stone soup will keep you both going I'm sure.
Now that is the end of my memory for to-day....so hugs to all who need one and didn't get one yet, enjoy the rest of the day

Evening all!!
Well work was quiet today, I worked 8-4 though so been home for a while. BIL seems to have some sort of OCD about cleaning. which would be okay but as he doesn't know where things live i spend my life searching for everything!
Dinner for OH and I is burger and HM wedges. not sure if we're feeding BIL yet or not... need to work that one out, but have plenty of burgers so not to worry if we are.
Hopefully OH's cheque clears tomorrow as am going to do my first ever makro shop!
Need to nip to local shop to get bits for dinner, but shouldn't come to more than £2 or £3Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Yes you can patch the groundsheet, if I was at home I would look in the Camping and Caravan Club magazine for people who repair awnings, but to be honest, if you can find a similar material (i.e. waterproof) then just cut a piece bigger and sew it in via machine. Try going in a camping shop and seeing if they have got any old/torn tents which you could cut a piece out of.
Once sewn, you would then need to spray with a waterproof spray to waterproof the stitching - available from camping shops.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
If there is a hole in the sewn in ground sheet you need to go to a camping shop and get a piece of waterproof ground sheet and some glue specially for rubber etc like the stuff you use for mending punctures, cut a piece bigger than the hole. Spread glue round the edges of the hole and stick the patch to it. I am pretty sure you can get a canvas repair kit to repair the tent itself.0

Hi again
Hugs Lou x
Bitsy I've got a 3 man tent I don't use, dunno where you live but you'd be more than welcome to have it. It's probably not big enough though.
Had a nap on the sofa and am feeling a bit more human. Have had some rain so it's a bit fresher. Cooked DS macaroni cheese for tea, I had a ham and cheese sandwich and other bits and pieces. At least I didn't go out and buy something.
MeanMarie good news on your money unfortunately my tax credits have been cut this year.
Thinking of those poor dogs is terrible, can't imagine how they suffered.
Have a good night all

Another perfect day for weather--28 degrees and a stiff breeze. we went over to the main city where my hair transplant place is-i am sure the nurse fancies my wife because she insists we attend everyday to clean my scalp. My wife can do it adequately without the loss of 4 hours in my day!--i sense the owner of the business is worried about my scalp because the surgery wasnt supervised by a doctor due to the doctor going sick!-the nurse was left alone and injecting copious amounts of nullifier!--injections on the head are something i said i would never allow let alone by someone not qualified!----i have some infection amongst the roots but will see the 'sick' doctor tomorrow to probably be put on more anti-biotics so tonight i am drinking because tomorrow i will be off alcohol!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0

Gillian -about the cat
Lou - love to you all xx
Very hectic day at work, my new group of work kids started this morning. All seem lovely, there are 15 of them so lots of voices but they did good today. We did a mixture of induction paperwork and made-up sports games outside cos the weather has been fab here. Tomorrow we are off to our cabin in the park
.
I had a fab weekend in London. We went to see Glee live at the O2 on Sat night. we had th emost amazing seats, we were on the floor about 30 rows back but literally right behind us was a mini stage. We got to be up close and personal with Puck, Rachel & Kurt, The Warblers, Mercedes and best of all Kurt doing the Beyonce dance :j It was amazing!!!!!!!! It was like we were front row. Got some amazing pics, but having trouble uploading to FB at mo
On the Sunday we had breakfast in a little cafe off Oxford St and people watched, then did a spot of shopping, then went to Covent Garden for lunch and more people watching/shopping. Then we headed to Hyde Park to chill out and got to listen to Barenaked Ladies and Mike & The Mechanics who were the support acts for the big Rod Stewart gig. On Monday morning we checked out and headed to Westminster, we got croissants and juice from Tesco and had picnic breakfast alongside the Thames and wandered a bit before we got train home. It was glorious weather too. A fabulous weekend!
OS wise - WM went on last night, just put clothes away now. Been food shopping for fresh stuff, got big bag of stirfry from Mr T for 30p so that's my tea! Need to make salad for work lunch tomorrow.
After that I'm going to crash on sofa cos I'm knackered!
Have a good evening all

Lou I agree with you about the NHS it is all about money and sod the patient  I hope you are treated better today (((Hugs)))
Bitsy ...... I would have made DH sleep in the tent
Gillian I am so sorry to hear about the cat and I hope that the police can do something and as others have said it could so easily have been a tot ..... But losing a beloved pet is like losing a member of the family so I don't see how the police can differentiate:mad:
I was really upset about the police dogs (even worse because one was a puppy) especially as they could so easily have been put into the kennels on the site where they could have had shade and water. i hope they throw the book at the pc responsible and he should be kicked off the force
Had a huge storm this afternoon ...I love watching the lightning:D
Well DH has just got home so must away and feed him BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

MM, glad I made you laugh, today the silly woman came in in a long skirt, but it was see through, maybe she needs a mirror.
Hugs Gillian, I love staffy's but they shouldn't go out without a muzzle if the can't be trusted with cats.
Thankfully it was cooler at work today, engineer is in tomorrw to fix the aircon.
Hugs Hester
