I am going on holiday on 10th August and I would like to shed a bit before I go so I would like to post a target of 6lbs for the remainder of the month.

I will be getting weighed every Friday morning and so posting my results then if that's Ok

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! :)

Kazwookie, i think i might just book to see a doctor, but i will wait and see if i can go a week or so without nomming down loads of carp all the time first. I'll also have a proper google for the symptoms of diabetes so that i know what to look out for. well done for your loss and YEY for your BMI!! I would be in tears too, you should be so so so proud of yourself!

ellay864, hugs for you hun. I hope you are the size you want to be for your big day.

determined new ms, the greek yoghurt, strawberries & merangue combo sounds lush! I'll definitely give that a go.

PerfectParadox, congratulations on your weight loss this week!

phantom9999, hi there! I'm a noob too. Good luck!

jovi20, congratulations on your 1lb loss!

toots, how did your weigh in go? I did myself this morning too.

    Siren1974, That's a big loss, well done!

Well, i weighed myself this morning and got a pleasant surprise. It's been a few weeks, so i was expecting to have gained, but by some miracle (otherwise known as breastfeeding, lol) i have actually lost a couple. So my official starting weight is 141lbs. With two weeks left of this month, if i loose 3.5 lbs i will be chuffed to bits.

Today has started well, we have virtually no carp in the house because it was all eaten at the weekend. Usually i would have my breakfast with a side of biscuits or cake (yes really ) and today i just had my toasted teacake. It does mean my tummy is a rumbling, but hey ho. I'll survive.

There is no way i could go the whole day without eating anything sweet and i don't think i need to go there yet. So, my plan is to limit my sweets to only after lunch and tea. If i can just stop myself snacking in the long stretches between breakfast > lunch and lunch > tea i think i will see a benefit.

I also want to make sure i drink 4 pints of water a day, which is easy for me, i just sometimes forget.

Plus my exercise will be 100 skips with my skipping rope 3 x a day. With the kids and money i can't go to the gym or anything, so this will do for now. Besides that i really, REALLY can't stand most forms of exercise.

So there's me! I hope you don't mind me tracking it on here. It will make it much easier for me.

    Monday
    Pint of water 4/4
    100 skips 2/3

    Tuesday
    Pint of water 0/4
    100 skips 0/3

    Wednesday
    Pint of water 0/4
    100 skips 0/3

    Thursday
    Pint of water 0/4
    100 skips 0/3

    Friday
    Pint of water 0/4
    100 skips 0/3

  • well this seems like a fantastic wee place, i am very overweight or as i usually say i am undertall and i really need to get a grip of things, i did start last year and managed to lose 1 and a half stones but family circumstances caused me to lose all motivation for keeping it up and here i am 18mths later back to where i started so would really love to join in this thread to keep me motivated.

starting weight of 227lbs  and even though it is a bit into the month i do hope to lose the 7lbs

    good luck to you all

  • Hi guys - happy Monday! Hope the weekend didn't mean having to deprive yourselves too much, it's always the killer time for me and I really have to be strong and resist all temptation to snack on yummy things that I don't need, but it is hard to keep telling yourself that being thin feels much better than that amazing cake on offer would taste and to say no thank you very much!
Anyway, first weigh in of the month, well after starting weight anyway and from what I think the scales say (they are very old fashioned, probably wrong and I can't actually see the little pointer thing clearly!) I have lost about 4lbs!!! It's somewhere around 11st11lbs now, which is great but could well be wrong but since it's a loss I shall stick with that :j and long may my scales show me what I want to see :p Wishing you all a successful week :)

Doh! I lost the super long post I wrote!

Well done to everyone that has posted a loss (and good luck to those that are about to, lol). I've yet to brave the scales as I've only been at this for 4 days.

I had a VERY hard workout on Friday, courtesy of my free personal trainer. So now I have a week to put his programme into practise before he ups the ante....if I survive that is.... Bleurgh!

According to the scales at the gym I'm 7lb lighter than I thought I was, so I've lost half a stone already!!!! Haha. I refuse to believe them though, the scales at the Doctor's agree with my home scales so I shall base any losses on those.

I hope you're all having a good week. xx

  • urg. So instead of going to the gym today I did house work.
    lots of house work.
Including hoovering, ironing and scrubbering.... and also because arling Stepfather has done his hand in (all those lectures about saftey with knives does his palm in with a stanley knife) I end up spending an hour chiseling concrete off a paveing slab for him....

does this count as a workout or do I need to go for a run around the block?

I'm really struggling today. I'm craving something rotten, in a foul mood and the thought of working out is leaving me cold :( That being said, I've been watching youtube videos for makeup tips so at least I look "presentable" this morning lol. Another thing about me, I've been going grey since I was in school so have been dying my hair for 20+ years. About two months ago, after not dying my hair for absolutely ages (big white roots) I had enough and just chopped my shoulder length dyed red hair off. Right down to the grey roots. It's now pretty good, nice to have a colour that is natural and suits my skin tone. I think I'm looking for positives on what feels like a very black mood day.

Hope you are all doing great today x

    (sorry to moan)
Smashed through my weightloss target. Looking at 120lbs+ loss. BMI over 40 down to 20.5. Training hard to get body fat under 20%, not far to go now :j
