Went at approx 4 this afternoon. Brought a top for my partner, later discovered it had a hole/tear in the arm. Rushed back to exchange it, but no sizes! Hmm... Are there any codes for free delivery?

First of all Thank OP for the post! Got a few bargains!

Didn't stop me from getting annoyed at the store manager in Fosse Park though.

Arrived there, one of the first in the queue and waited one hour before the store opened, so was cold and tired (had to travel quite a distance to get there too, so up extra early.)

We queued for a very long time when waiting to pay for our goods after being at River island for well over 3 hours only to have one of our items, (priced at £17, a men's grey PU jacket) taken away from us at the till. We are not even sure of why this happened but the store manager said she was not willing to sell us the item at the price. No apology, and no explaination from the manager, she just strutted off with my partner's jacket, and went to get all the tags taken off of the rest of the jackets, leaving the lovely SA to deal with the confusion. We weren't able to get another item to make up the 10 items as we were already paying and didn't want to queue up all over again. So annoyed as it was the only thing he really wanted and was a present for getting up early to take me there.

Now, just as I was paying (before the jacket incident), a girl next to me who was paying also, was buying 2 pairs of jeans priced at £20 each (sale tag). The manager was explaining to her that even though the jeans were priced at £20, she wasn't going to take off the extra 50%. She said something like, ".....Sorry to have kept you, but we are right! I've got someone up there taking the sale tags off those jeans"....in a take it or leave it fashion, giving some poor excuse as to why the price of the jeans was wrong. It didn't even make any sense to me, so explaining it to you is pretty impossible. The poor girl just paid even though she was entitled to her extra 50% off for standing outside ages in the queue and having a band.

So she did it again. God knows how many more times she did this, thus removing items from the 10 item allowance and wasting our time by allowing 'wrongly' priced items to be up for sale.

River Island Fosse Park Manager, get it together!

    Everyone else, check your reciepts!

In defence, I found the staff at Fosse Park (Leicester) very helpful. A manager checked for a missing shoe without success, when I explained that my disabled son does not tolerate queueing, straight away, I was allowed to pay and this was done without fuss and argument. Well done to the manager for good understanding on disability. Another thing, one item, a bag did not have a tag and 2 sales assitants without complaint, used a general code to put the item though the till. WELL DONE, STAFF AT FOSSE PARK. I'M GENERALLY NOT IMPRESSED EASILY BUT WITHIN A VERY BUSY SHOP, I WAS HIGHLY IMPRESSED. WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!

we went to putney branch yesterday at lunch time so we thought we had missed the band but there was a young girl there wandering around and when she seen me and my friend buying loads offered us her red band for reductions
when we were at the till the lady did wuestion us to where we got the band we just said we had to rush to work after we got the band this morning. then we said how many things do we get half price as we were goona out most expensive things up first .
but she said everything so we quickly put everything together and put on one card what a bargain in total after discount all our shopping came to £118 wow

Ah, I wish i'd have known they could fast-track, my daughter doesn't tolerate queues either. What time did this all happen? Maybe it's because I'd already complained and said they needed to get it together and that I was going to put a complaint in. It's funny how nice people are to the next customer when you complain. If you HAD stood in the queue for as long as we did, maybe you could see where i'm coming from when someone just comes long and takes your item out of your hand and walks off with no explaination or apology.

I mentioned my experience to my sister, who knew EXACTLY who I was talking about before I even had the chance to describe her. She had a bad experience with her too. It's not the rest of the staff, who I already said were lovely, it's her that made those terrible decisions, and her with the bad attitude. I am going to complain directly to the HO.

As a manager, she should have known it was not a fault of mine, put the jacket (and the girl's jeans through) taken the hit and pulled the rest of the items.

    Hi Lucy! ;)

Went to MK store at 9.15am no wristbands and a load of tat left...rubbish!

    Hey Lindz! :D

Wow your store ran out fast. Sounds like the people of MK are better at bargain hunting than down here, I was very surprised there weren't more people there early at my store!

Gotta love a nice bit of queuing! ;):rotfl:
