I noticed when I looked at my receipt there was one item that scanned at full price £6.99 (it had a sale tag on but they hadnt written how much it was reduced to) and one that scanned at £4 when it said £2 on the label, took them back and they refunded me straight away which I was pleased about, I know some places wont do refunds on sale days0

I would like to say a huge thank you:beer: to the two lovely angels in the que at the Stockport store today. They had a wristband for the extra 50% off, and purchased my 3 items on their bands to get me ( a complete stranger ) the discount too.
I can not believe how generous, and lovely the two ladies were:A.I appreciate Each and Every win. I thank every comp poster from the bottom of my heart :A0 -
First of all Thank OP for the post! Got a few bargains!
Didn't stop me from getting annoyed at the store manager in Fosse Park though.
Arrived there, one of the first in the queue and waited one hour before the store opened, so was cold and tired (had to travel quite a distance to get there too, so up extra early.)
We queued for a very long time when waiting to pay for our goods after being at River island for well over 3 hours only to have one of our items, (priced at £17, a men's grey PU jacket) taken away from us at the till. We are not even sure of why this happened but the store manager said she was not willing to sell us the item at the price. No apology, and no explaination from the manager, she just strutted off with my partner's jacket, and went to get all the tags taken off of the rest of the jackets, leaving the lovely SA to deal with the confusion. We weren't able to get another item to make up the 10 items as we were already paying and didn't want to queue up all over again. So annoyed as it was the only thing he really wanted and was a present for getting up early to take me there.
Now, just as I was paying (before the jacket incident), a girl next to me who was paying also, was buying 2 pairs of jeans priced at £20 each (sale tag). The manager was explaining to her that even though the jeans were priced at £20, she wasn't going to take off the extra 50%. She said something like, ".....Sorry to have kept you, but we are right! I've got someone up there taking the sale tags off those jeans"....in a take it or leave it fashion, giving some poor excuse as to why the price of the jeans was wrong. It didn't even make any sense to me, so explaining it to you is pretty impossible. The poor girl just paid even though she was entitled to her extra 50% off for standing outside ages in the queue and having a band.
So she did it again. God knows how many more times she did this, thus removing items from the 10 item allowance and wasting our time by allowing 'wrongly' priced items to be up for sale.
River Island Fosse Park Manager, get it together!
Everyone else, check your reciepts!
The managers were acting a bit funny at our store too. I think the staff were exempt from the offer so probably were jealous!!0 -

i agree , the managers were very unpolite. also one of the items i picked up (bracelets) had sale sticker on and was told its not in the sale. they were also loads of them. havent missed out though as ordered online this morning before i went to the sale and the bracelets were showing sale price. alot of items i ordered online were instore so got 10 items for a bargain. shame there wasnt many nice bags. cant complain though. thanks for posting op.0 -
Nooooo!!!!! If only I'd gone there before IKEA!!! Saw some nice bits that would have been a bargain with the wristband!
The girl had quite a few bands left, then another member of staff came down and was asking who didnt have have bands, to give them out. I was still in there until 11ish!! My mum thought it was compulsory to buy 10 items!! hehe so we didn't leave until she had 10!!0 -

absolutley
thats apalling and i would be fuming
if thats the case they should have had T&C's up saying some items were excluded
don't they have a head office or something you can complain to?
personally i was working this morning - gutted i couldn't go and nearly blagged a sickie but had a full clinic booked- but my sis made up for it and got loads of bags, she said there were no signs in the shop advertising the wrist band promotion so if i hadn't have told her she wouldn't have known and they weren't just handing them out she had to go and ask for one!!!GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!0 -
Got down to Southampton store just before 8am and there was only about 15 people there. The store was lovely and quiet - no queues for till or changing rooms.

Really pleased I got up early to go - got some fantastic stuff including Birkenstocks (Betula) for £6(!!), jeans for £10, trousers for £5, gorgeous skirt for £5, a couple of tops including one for £1, and various jewellery for 50p and £1! :j

Thank you so much Ladyfalco!!
I went to York, thought no way would i get a wristband as it was 8.15 but there was a girl outside trying to pull people in off the street, bless her she said can i stop you for a minute but i can see you are in a rush, i said yes but only in a rush to get to you lol!!
Only one other person in the shop and even when i left at 9am she still had a bag full of bands. I'm sorry to hear everyones experience wasn't as good. The sales assistants were all amazing in York.
I got 10 items, lots for OH who is very pleased, £51 for £200 worth so i was well happy with that!
Got wrong size on one thing so popped back at lunchtime and could hardly get in the door for people.
They exchanged my item and even tho no wristband and i gave the receipt they honored (sp) the price, even remembered me from the morning.
Thanks again for this post - i would never had known without it!
