Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Hugs to SM & others in need.
Off to work soon, hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, turkey salad sarnies, my packup is hardboiled eggs, new pots & red onion in mayo with salad.
DW's been emptied & refilled, WM emptied & 1st load on the line.
Tea tonight will be pasta with ham & mushroom sauce.
Work should be fun, it get's up to 104deg in my room, I have air con but it doesn't work so it's going to be warm. There is no maximum heat limits for working, so I just have to grin & bear it.
Have a good day everyone

Good Morning Hester and all who follow.Well I had a great day yesterday with DD and the four boys .We went to Westgate Beach and the tide was just going out and its beautiful ,very sandy with a few rock pools for the boys to dip for crabs and shrimps in.The also found an anenome .We had a nice picnic and my DD made some of her delicious oaty bars as a treat. They are to die for believe me. The boys all paddled and swam in the sea and the sun blazed down all day .It one of the hidden secrets in Kent as it never gets too crowded and you can sit on the beach and see the kids playing easily The tide going out is very shallow so when it starts to return the water is going over hot sand and you would think you were in the Med.Arrived back at her house by 6.00.p.m. and her OH Simon had been busy he had got the BBQ up and running and all we had to do was set the tables ion the decking.he had also made some fresh HM bread,he is amazing that chap.We had just finished eating and were sitting chatting about what we had done that day when across the garden pootled a baby hedgehog The kids were thrilled and we very quiete as this little fellow wandered across totally unconcerned as though there wern't 7 people sitting watching it.My DD took several snaps and a video she was chuffed to bits.Mikey (7) was beside himself with excitement as he had never seen a live one .He wanted to keep it, but we said no as it was probably looking for its Mum.After about 10 minutes of having a look around the garden it trundled back into the undergrowth at the bottom of the garden.A perfect end to a perfect day for us all I think
Well today I have the school run this morning then I have just put a washload on lots of sandy towels to get clean and the forcast is very warm in the south east. Then I will probably watch a bit of Andy Murray at Wimbledon and if its not too hot do a bit of iroing.NSd today as I have lots in the fridge to use up first .veggie soup for lunch and freezer roulette for dinner.Hope everyone has a good day what ever you are doing
    Cheers chums

Morning Hester and all who cross and follow

BRAMBLE that's terrible about your car

Big hugs and positive thoughts to those who need one.

Really hot here yesterday and last night, not good for sleeping. Have got my friend's giant dog here at the mo. Plans today to crack on with my ironing, didn't do any of it yesterday but I did tidy the garden and mow the lawns. Will take the dog out in a bit as he's dark I worry about him getting too hot.

Tea tonight is left over bolognese sauce from the freezer with either spaghetti or lasagne. Got work tonight so will probably take a nice HG salad with some tuna.

    Have a good day all

Morning Hester and those who follow.
Hester - that is so hot. Hope the air con is fixed for you.
Been out with our younger dog and enjoyed the walk round the park. I love having 2 dogs but sometimes it is very relaxing just walking the one.
Supermarket shopping at some point today.
Soup making about to commence. Bottom of fridge soup.
(((hugs))) to those having a hard time.

    Morning everyone,

(Hugs) and positive vibes to whoever needs them.

Hester, that is really hot, my pupils will complain about the heat in my room today as it gets to about 90 degrees in there. Can't you complain and get the air con fixed?

It is really lovely here, the sun is shining, the WM has just finished and I am off out into the garden to peg it out.

Tonight is one of those evenings when I have to be in 3 places at once, DS has cricket, DD1 is kayaking and DD2 has netball.

DD2 had a wonderful time away at Pontins this weekend but she is really tired this morning, I can feel an early night coming on!

Tea tonight will be something made from the left over sausages from yesterdays barbecue.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Morning all,

Hot Hot Hot here, :j, about time as most of June has been a wash out.

Well today dd and I are off for her treat, its a reward for all the effort she pun in over her GCSE's, we are off to Brighton for 2 days, staying overnight, we are stopping on the way, and having a fish pedicure :D, then head on to Brighton, wander round the lanes today, have a nice lunch more browsing then off for a nice dinner somewhere. Then stay over and up early in the morning, and hit the big shops :T, I have done it all on the cheap so it has not cost me a fortune, and we are so looking forward to it, DD does not know about the fish pedicure, and will be thrilled, I am so excited :j

So not a lot of os here today, I will empty dw, swish the kitchen and get the wash in in before I go.

Have good days all hugs to those in need xx

    Morning All,

No idea what the weather is doing, the blinds are still closed. It's DS2's 9th Birthday today, he loved his new bike and gift hamper and has been good fun all morning making up silly songs.

I'm sad to tell you all the Lou lost her baby in the early hours of this morning, she went to hospital and it happened there. She is back home now, and hopefully resting. She asked me to let you all know, and requests no hugs, I will also delete this in a day or two, so its not on the board for all eternity. Thank you all for the positive wishes last night, I am sad for her that the power of positive thought wasn't enough to keep them both safe.

Sorry to end on such a downer, I hope you are all well and stay safe today.
