bargainboy wrote:I was recently on a contract with Simply3g,
I paid £40 per month for my phone (waste of money) and the 2nd 6 moths was 1 cashback offer at £20 a month so my cashback would have been £240
I had 2 of these contracts 1 for me 1 for the wife,
sent the cashback away in the same envelope (mistake) and they claim they never received it. it was sent recorded,
problem is it was signed for, but it is a general person in the building that signs for all mail for about 3 companys.
after i investigated to where my cashback was, they aknowledged that there was a problem and by the time it was sorted they would not pay out as it was over the time limit
I lost out on £480 in November.
Not being funny mate, but what the hell are you playing at?!?! You are letting these idiots fob you off far too easily!!!!! The T&C's of your claim state that you must send your claim to a certain address on a certain date. If you have PROOF that you sent your claim/s to that address on the correct date then why haven't you taken this further.....
How long ago was the letter sent? If it is recent then I would write to them recorded delivery and say that you have fulfilled your side of the claim and its not your fault if the mail was not passed on to them. Then say that if they do not pay out your claim within 14 days then you will take them to the small claims court where you will prove that you have fulfilled your side of the T&C's.
Why do people let idiot companies like this get away with this crap?!?! Really pi$$es me off:mad: :mad:0 -

The post office sent me 12 first class stamps as an apology. I refused the offer and argued my case for the full £32 but they wouldn't budge. I even got the post office watchdog involved but they still fobbed me off
Always always send your cashback claim SPECIAL DELIVERY it will cost you £4 ish but it is insured upto £2500.
I know, crap isn't it mate!!!
Remember that next time your claim goes missing, you were actually returning your faulty charger and battery to them and it will cost at least £32 to replace

If you have a combined bill (more than one number) then sometimes you will need to reorder the pages, so the number you are claiming for appears from the 2nd page. (I had this issue with cpw and orange bills). I sent bill twice recorded and each time they said wrong number bill.ummm...0

I would say cashback is never a guaranteed thing.
You might think that as long as you do it right you'll be fine. I very nearly missed my cashback through no fault of my own because when I moved house and notified Orange they made a complete mess of my address, street name was wrong, post code was wrong. Somehow the important bill made it to me but only because Royal Mail must have done some detective work to find out my address. Other bills with the same address have never turned up.
If the phone company send you a bill and it gets lost in the post you could have trouble getting a duplicate in time. In this instance you'd have no come back.0 -

One thing to look out for is that some companies insist that you cannot change your address (amongst contract value, etc) so you have to be careful to ensure that you abide by this if necessary.
In which case, personally I wouldn't tell anyone connected with the phone I'd moved and catch the mails by redirection.
However, other companies like mobileshop don't seem to mind you moving as they used to have vouchers with space to put new bank/address details if they had changed.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Some companies (like cpw and e2save) will accept the online version of the bill that you can print out. Worth while if you move addresses / loose the original etc.ummm...0

I think you are getting confused (although I might just be wrong) but I think the actual T&C's (depending on company) say that you can't have the cheque delivered to a different address than the one on your account. However if you move house then you will obviously change your address on the account in which case the bills will still go to the new address!!!
