Hetty with the pet attachment. My brother has an ancient Henry that he used to use for cleaning out air con ducting, but still picks up after 3 cats, a gsd and a labradoodle!
We have also had 2 useless dysons. The £60 thing is a complete waste - you can buy a henry for not much more. With Sparkles! :happylove And Shiny Things!0 -
I've had a dyson and electrolux and others. For the last 4 years I've used Bissells lift off and it is very good.Nice to save.0

My Miele Cat & Dog is the cylinder version. I'd previously had uprights, but personally find cylinders much easier to manoeuvre. As I said in my earlier post, I think it does a fantastic job with cat hairs and cat litter.

I have the new upright Miele and its quite heavy but it has a swivel head so once you get used to it it is actually very easy to use and get around furniture and corners. I had to larf, on amazon one lady had said when her Miele arrived, she put the handle in and it was "much too long" for her to use and it wouldnt easily fit in her broom cupboard. In fact you have to press fairly robustly on it to click it into place when you assemble the hoover at which point it becomes the same height as any upright. Thought Id add that in case anyone else made the same mistake as said lady, who apparently returned it in disgust

Gone through a useless Dyson animal, then an appalling and terrible sebo cat and dag (or animal whatever it was called) and for the last 18 months had a miele cat and dog cylinder and its brilliant. Got a short haired dog, a senile cat who just sheds clumps everywhere as he forgets to groom and 2 long haired daughters!!!!
The only minus (and there maybe a way) is that not worked out how to dismantle the brush head in order to clean that out as with all vacumn's it loses performance that way!Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
my dyson is useless ( 6 cats) on cat hairs.... i hoovered up and then just to try something i got down on my hands and knees with a little nail brush and 'brushed' the carpet............
you should have seen all the hairs and fluff that my dyson didnt pick up!!!!!0 -
If you have a pair of Crocs, they are brilliant at removing cat hairs from stairs! Stand and side-swipe each stair and pick up or hoover the accumulated balls of hair. Must burn up a fair few calories too

A slicker brush is also fantastic for getting the hairs up off carpet0

For me defintely a Bissell Pet hair remover (or whatever they're called) have had mine for 3 years - broke the hose - called Bissell and they sent me a new one free of charge (plus I bought mine on offer - they run quite a lot of promotions I bought mine through a post on the grabbit board) . The special pet hair attachment is very good on those fabrics pet hair seems to weave its way into

i have a Dyson animal and love it,have had it a few years and it really brings up the hair from my dog
I do use a furminator on him and find this really cuts down on the amount of hair that he sheds
I can only use an upright vacuum cleaner found the other type hurt my back0
