I have nothing to add but i am very interested in this as i am due to recarpet the house soon and have 2 very hairy dogs, I have never used a henry/ hetty before, in my little brain i always think the standy up hoovers like dyson will have better suction then a cylinder hoover0

I had 2 useless dysons- then a mieile cat and dog. All awful and just cut out. Now I have a cheap (about £60 in sainsburys sale- vax upright-jus a dry cleaner). Had it 12 months and never not worked 100 per cent.
Dyson used to overheat after 10 minutes then had to wait 30 mins. Cat and dog one actually had flames when it overheated.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

Miele Cat and Dog here too. Great vacuum, really picks up the hair well and the suction is superb.
The only negative for me is the price of the bags. There are cheaper copies available but I've heard so many stories about the cheapo bags causing motor failure that I only buy the Miele genuine ones.Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0 -

Thank you for all your replies, the Miele Cat and Dog; are there more than one model or do I just google: Miele Cat and Dog and go for the cheapest?
Thanks again

We owned many dogs and depending on how dense is the hair should be your starting point.
The Miele C&D is not different from cheaper Miele models apart from the exellent wide turbo brush (which you can buy separately). For short to medium hair it will do the job over many happy years.
For anything with long hair you should stick to the industrial style vacuums like the Vax and Henry's of this world. If you attach a wide turbo brush head you will have the perfect tool to tackle the hairy situation.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!
