I have my shiny new laptop :)

Today I am still concentrating on DSs rooms. As DS1 doesn't show any sign of wanting to move out we have decided to get him some furniture so it is being delivered today. Hoping it will help him feel as though we want him here. Black dog still haunting him.

Just cheapies from ebay but will do. They need building so we are ready with the tools for when they arrive.

DS2's room is shiny and clean and ready for when he returns. DS3 is helping to sort out his room as he too has huge amounts of outgrown clothes. He is still growing at 21!
WM x 5 I have discovered that if I wash the duvets 5 times they eventually come clean!!

Oh, and I wanted to ask, what's the best MSE way to clean your DW? Just went to buy some cleaner and it was £3,57 each!!

Aldi have it in occasionally - the ones you stick in the cutlery rack and run the machine empty.

Most of the time we don't bother though - I mean, what's going to be cleaner than someone which is sprayed with washing up liquid at 60 degrees once or twice a day? :D

It reminds me though, I should probably do it since the parents are away.

Sharon.. they recommend you use the toxic cleaners at least once a month to stop the build up of slime and grease in the internal pipes. I got some which had 4 sachets of stuff for about £8.. it has definitely made difference to my machine. I also clean around the door which is always ganked up with grot. I'll see if I can find a link or something to the one we use. LINKY I got it from the local engineer so it was much cheaper.. oust do one too

I run it on empty with a DW tablet in and LOADS of white vinegar poured into the rinse compartment - works well for me :D

Busy day but have managed to get 2 loads of washing done, second on the line now.

DW - I buy the stuff when it is on offer (Waitrose had the finish ones two pack half price last week). Waitrose own make is cheap and works well too but does leave a bit of a chemical smell. I find them worth it and do it about once every 6-8 weeks.

DS1 has kindly unpacked most of my shopping, I'll do the rest now and then I need to find a recipe for Devilled sausages. Anyone got a good one to hand which works well when the sausages are served cold?

Thanks for the replies re DW cleaning.

I usually get the Morissons ones, but they only had the Finish today and I thought that was a bit steep. (I used my last one at the beg on June so due another wash). I was wondering about white vinegar and bicarb as a cheap alternative.

white vinegar and bicarb doesn't shift the grease and food in the pipes.
