I love my garage:rotfl:(proper old-fashioned garage with the office at the back of the workshop and the owner is a mechanic himself)

Car booked in for annual MOT and service today - dropped it off yesterday afternoon - phone call about an hour ago - car ready, they started it yesterday:)

    Passed, no problems:D
Then it turned out they had checked the history and mileage and decided it only needed a 'small service' so bill a lot less than I expected:T:j:T:j

Just got rid of 4 dining chairs plus a massive winter weight duvet and a bag old blankets and towels for bedding to a lady with a million dogs. It feels soooo goooood! :j:jProblem is, I'm getting rid of all this stuff and my house still looks like a charity shop:eek:

Seafarer's Wife - I use hob brite from Home Bargains, it's brill. You'll also want to get a scraper tool for all those stubborn bits, I got mine from Kleeneze. Another good thing to have is a microfibre cloth (also from HB) as it polishes it up nicely with little effort. Glad you made up with OH, that's a long time to be away from each other, especially in your condition!

Oh, and I wanted to ask, what's the best MSE way to clean your DW? Just went to buy some cleaner and it was £3,57 each!!
  • Hello all!

Here's my done list for yesterday:

Thursday ~ Master bedroom & landing
    Level 1
    Check fire alarms are working
Remove and wash bed linen and duvet covers.
Fling open the window and let in the air
    Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
    15 minutes floordrobe clearance
    Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Clear a hotspot.. or spend 15 minutes clearing one.

I am really pleased with myself for doing all that as well as looking after the tiddlers, two hundred loads of laundry and associated ironing, all cooking and washing up, tidying of countless toys, and walking to the library to deal with the massive frog that was very overdue books.

Hooray for me! And the same goes for everyone else for all you are getting done. When you write it all down it is amazing there are enough hours in the day!

We are scattering Mums ashes on Sunday. Its a place that was on tv for not very nice reasons last year. It was her favourite place to go though and we will find a nice peaceful spot.

Finally catching up on the thread!
Good evening. I have been awol this weekend - it has been a weird one. Very good bits and very bad bits.

Went fruit picking yesterday, and got lots of yummy strawberries, raspberries & cherries. then picked up MIL & had an impromptu BBQ with strawberry flan for pud :D

DD1 got herself a job! :j She is working for the summer at the local theme park. She has a job on the rides (they only put the most enthusiastic people on the rides!) So she is made up (and so am I!)

then my mum phoned, to say that my uncle had taken a turn for the worse :( He had come home on Thursday, and had Macmillan nurses in with him overnight. My aunty (mum's sister) came down from Lowestoft on Friday to see him, and stayed at mum's overnight. Mum then phoned half an hour later to say that he had passed away :( it was much quicker than we had anticipated, but at least he isn't suffering now. Now we must concentrate on his wife, and children, and help them through it.

It is Dh's birthday tomorrow - and he is on his way to Scotland for work :( he hates his job at the moment. He will be back on Tuesday. So we sort of had a birthday weekend. He had presents today, and his mum & sister came to see him.

I need to clear the kitchen -again- for the shed/summerhouse delivery tomorrow (hopefully!!) I bet they will be wishing they had got the order right first time when they are doing it in 30 degrees tomorrow! :rotfl:

Right. I am off to iron DS's shirts for the week i think. i will update listies in a mo :D

Really sorry to hear about your uncle :( That seems so sudden, I hope you're ok. Congratulations to your DD, I hope her new job is going well.
