  • Excuse me? I'm a bit taken aback. i was genuinly saying I hope things will work out better for you - ie with new year coming.

    Sorry if you mis-read

Sorry- I was only kidding/being sarcastic sort of thing - I know you didn't mean it like that - sincere apologies, I should have said "ha ha" or something.

So sorry, my heads all over the place.

  • No worries - good luck with everything

    THANK YOU ALL
  • Hi Weller711

Big hugs for you, things seem dark just now but this is a good place. There is a small minority of unsympathetic posters & a few who just believe in tough love! But the overwhelming majority are people who have made many mistakes themselves & who only want to help.

Ignore the posts that do not help & take all you can from those that do!

    Welcome!! :hello:

Just what I was going to say!

Make sure you stick around weller711, you will get a lot of support and help from us dfws, I like to say we're a virtual cheerleading squad! Look, aren't we cute.....

    :rotfl:

Anyway... the nature of this place is that its open to all comments, helpful and not so helpful  but try not to let it stop you in getting debt free. Just remember - none of us know you and your situation so if we say something that seems wrong or overly critical just ignore us! Just read each post and if its helpful, great, if not ah well.... onto the next one.

We don't know what's going on for some of the posters either, or what their agendas might be. ;)

Once you've got that SOA sorted we'll have a good look for you :)

  • Think I'm taking things too much to heart really - just over emotional I guess - thats what facing up to your problems does to you!! But glad I got there - tomorrow is another day and I have to do this SOR thingy bob so better get prepared! Thank you for all your support - I don't feel so alone now - not that my husband isn't supportive - he just thinks I worry too much and its making me ill and I feel guilty because its him who has been really ill.

Start again tomorrow, eh? - Just wish it wasn't bloomy Christmas!!"!

It may be christmas - but best of all the start of a new year is just around the corner and your getting ready to face it and make it a fresh start. You've lots of support on here, and I for one really admire you - I can't even begin to tell you how much.
Well done you on keeping your head high today, I really hope it starts to get easier for you. I know how hard it can be when your OH doesn't understand the importance of the financial situation, it's all to easy to be persuaded that you've got it out of proportion. Do keep posting and when you can get your SOA up - but be prepared, the amount of great advice you get can knock you over sometimes!!!
If you fancy a mutual partner in driving down the bills do feel free to pm me as well.
    Best wishes

    Hello Weller.

Remember me from the Budgeting & Current Accounts forum? :)

You have received some good advice so far on this thread and don't worry too much, things will work out.

Did you say you had a telephone appointment with Halifax to discuss your account?

If so, I would recommend completing an income and expenditure form, a bit like the SOA you have been asked to complete for us.

Halifax will no doubt be pushy and place pressure on your to commit over the telephone to repay a set amount each month.

If you complete an I&E sheet you will be able to see how much you can afford each month to repay. I just think it is better if you are prepared for this telephone appointment. Don't offer more than you can afford.

Use this I&E sheet from the National Debtline website:-

    http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/budget_sheet.php?country=england_wales

It will even calculate your pro-rata repayments to all your creditors. Very useful.

Hi Weller - just wanted to post a quick message to say that I'm sorry that so much crap has happened to you lately and that I hope that things start to get better soon.

Don't let the odd negative comment get you down. I know that you went through the details of why the Halifax debt wasn't included in your originial DMP in your previous posts on another thread. Agree with some of the others - some of the posters on this site (albeit a small number) like to sit on a pedestal and chuck rocks at us poor debt ridden plebs. Don't let them get to you. The majority of us are here to give support and any advice that we may have from mainly personal experience.

Hope things settle down and that you can look forward in some way to Christmas.
