If you want to keep your numbers and go back to 3 temporarily transfer your number to a PAYG on another network and then transfer them back (Bye bye 3 - hello err, 3 ? post 2)

Oh all right - I can take a ribbing, it's been a good few years before I've had to renew!

Anyway. I went on Moneysupermarket website to recheck the deals. Now the one offered by Affordablemobiles on MSM shows the same plan as what you get with Three. However, go to the website and there is no mention of the data - only the calls and texts. Should I be worried?

Also, 3 retentions called me an offered the S2 on their all you can eat plan for £32 (usually £35). Think I could knock another £2 off them?

im with three and have been after the s2 on the one plan for a while and they have not budged on the price. when i said i can get £130 cash back via quidco bringing it roughly to £30 a month they said they cant do the same as the s2 on the tx500 plan is £30 a month, but try and have a go and if you do get it to £30 plas let me know so i can have a go. i currently rang and told them to change my contract to pay as you go so got a couple of weeks to try and get a good deal.

    good luck

Hmmm, I dunno about trying to convince them - any offers they've made has been from their end - my requests have been turned down.

Another thing I've just remembered. When I was in store, the sales guy offered to give me the £30 contract with the first month free. He also said that after about 14 months I should be able to go to a lower tarriff (as after this time three will have broken even on the handset). I dunno.... any thoughts?

I also forgot! When 3 offered the £32 for the all you can eat, they also offered the first month free. Should I go for it now?

Well well. Called up Affordable Mobiles yesterday to ask about the price plan and about renewing and delaying the start of a new contract. They said that they don't have any in stock anyway and the backlog is about a month at least. So wouldn't really matter then if I order now would it? Oh yes it would - they would start the contract straight away they said even if I didn't have the phone!!!!

I think, shudder, I'm going onto what Three offered - the S2 all you can eat plan - £32 / month and first month free. Someone convince me not to - pleeeeze!!!!

this phone seems to be in high demand so i think three wont budge on the price ( ive been constantly nagging them to drop monthly price for me) so to get a £3 discount a month is better than nothing but aint much if youve been with thema while.

im wanting the same phone on the same plan as i want unlimited data but im now going to hold out for a few weeks as t-mobile now do unlimited data (no fair use policy) and includes downloads for any tarrif over £25 a month so its just a case of waiting for the phone cost to drop.

did you end up taking the deal?

And fun it was - NOT!

They denied making the offer, then said they had made it but it was for the S1, then it was for the S2 but didn't include VAT (even though the prices don't match), then it was without VAT but the phone value has increased since then (it hasn't) so the price offered plus VAT equals what was offered...
Surprise surprise, the call wasn't recorded - at least by them anyway.

I've recorded the conversation on my phone and played it to a friend of mine who is a Trading Standards Officer. He said he's reporting it to the head office but told me it's only for criminal purposes and not civil - so I shouldn't hold my breath, but at least I know I'm firing off a shot at them.

seems to be constant lies from 3 at the moment, i currently asked for my pac code from three hoping they would offer me the s2 on a retention deal on the one plan but they didnt and i left it to late to use the code so have now told them to transfer my number to pay and go so they know i will defo be leaving thier contract and if i dont get a good deal ill just move network, 6 years of custom and not a single discount, shocking
