They usually offer a great reduction regarding the monthly tarriff and this also enables you to do a full upgrade at anytime within the next 12 months. Certainly gives you some breathing space until you decide what you want to do and save some money at the same time.
I was offered that - eventually - but after being lied to so much (phone not available, special offer no-one else can get - cheaper deals elsewhere aren't cheaper - they don't include VAT (they do coz they have to) and finally, unbelievably I should show some more loyalty to 3!!!!!:rotfl:) - I couldn't believe a word of his lying little gob. Even so, I wanted a new phone and can't afford the upfront cost of it new - nor would I want to buy it. If you have a couple of hundred quid then it's fine, but I've done my sums and buying the handset interest free and taking a cheap sim only deal is only marginally cheaper than the rental. But I'm going of topic here.
It's a helpful point and one some may find suitable, but not for me.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
E2save have a Samsung Galaxy S2 on Talk Mobile - Free phone/ 500 mins/1500 texts/1gb data for £25/month.
I was watching this deal, was going to use it with topcashback to reduce it even further - great price, for a good deal on a cracking phone.
I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but it is no longer available - the offer is now as above but £99 for the phone
affordable mobiles does have similar deals - i think i saw 600mins 500txts and unlimited interenet (500mb to 3gb depending who you believe) for £26ish, also £24ish through cash back. That one might have to do0 -
Hi again, yes you have to be quick ,these special offers don't hang around for long.
There's another good deal if you can live with 300 mins.
It's for a free Samsung Galaxy S2 through Mobilephonesdirect with 300 mins/unlimited texts/500mb data for £25/month however this time it's on Vodafone.
Mobilephonesdirect are a reliable company ( they actually run the Nokia retail stores for them. )
And there's also £30 cashback by buying via quidco or topcashback.

Went into a 3 store earlier today (some strange magnetic force just dragged me in...).
Walked out with one contract sorted out.
Galaxy Europa (for the missus) - 300 any network mins, 2000 3 to 3 mins, 5000 texts (never sent more than 500 in my life) plus 500mb internet.
£13 all in. Not bad methinks. I know I could do better but the effort isn't worth it!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I do know what you mean Scooby75. All you want to do is sort out a phone contract, but it turns in this mammoth ordeal. I went into my local branch of Phones 4 U today just to do a bit of window shopping and actually see some of the handsets. I have decided on the Galaxy Ace but currently @ P 4 U their cheapest tariff was £20 p/m with T Mobile with 300 mins, 300 texts, 500mb data and a free handset. He took my number however and said he would call if they can reduce the cost to £15 p/m which is what I am wanting to pay. I do know that I can get to that magic price if I go with one of the internet dealers, but if the handset goes bonk then at least with a high st shop you can take it back much more easily. I have all our family handsets with 3 at the moment and one has gone back for repair after 9 months. It is due back later this week, so I will see what the final out come is with that. If it is painless then I will be more inclined to stay with 3 for my new phone. If they don't play the game then I will request my pac and go elsewhere.0

Sorry if this has been posted before (probably has but I'm a bit slow...)
In a situation where your renewal deal isn't good enough?
Found a new contract deal with the same network but don't want a new number?
Here's a little trick a salesman told me in store - its so simple I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it, but for anyone else who hasn't thought of it either...
After requesting and obtaining your PAC from your mobile operator:
Get a PAYG sim card for another network (which can be bought for 99p and in many cases can be obtained free of charge).
You will need a mobile phone capable of using that network - either an old phone, borrow a friends phone or even buy a cheap one. Activate the SIM.
Then as soon as it's set up, get your number ported to the PAYG sim. Hopefully you should see where this is going.....
Then, once your number is ported, get a PAC from the new operator of the cheap SIM you have obtained and take it to your original operator.
Hope that's of some use to someone - apologies again if it has already been posted.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I've decided I'm going to call tomorrow that company offering the S2. If they can either do it as a renwal (doubt it) or start the contract at the end of my current one then I'll go for it and will updat ehere on how it goes.
Btw, the missus is a tad befuddled with her new samsung after 15 years of being a Nokia slave. But it's fun!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I am not going to spoil your fun.
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
