Wow Crazychik that's some mail to come home to.

I'm not sure if you were asking for advice...... but I would with regards to the housing/court situation can you get in touch with CAB or make a post on one of the other boards with regards to your situation, as I personally can't see how they can take you to court for something you had paid  .

I would leave your sister's card for the moment, take some time to chill out and think about it a little later...I say this for your sake as you don't want to go rushing into something you later regret.

    Hello fellow Old stylers!
Cor it's flipping freezing down here in not so sunny Sussex! Have had to go out and buy the small person yet more gloves as he's lost the most recent pair. Will only spend £1 per pair now as they're forever disappearing!!
Last day of school for him today...sent him with a batch of HM mince pies [pastry and mincemeat] as a present for his teacher. I thought that must rank on the old style scale somewhere! Tomorrow he and OH have a tough assignment of putting up the tree and decs [always leave it to Yule] and then Flushed Away at the cinema. Meanwhile I'm work still. Hmmm...something not right there methinks.
Anyway last day tomorrow and then plan to hit Mr T at 6.30am [hate crowds] to get the perishables in. That should then be all the Christmas purchasing complete. Hurrah!!
OS today has been putting the bins away, washing the floors and boiling eggs for the kedgeree we're having tonight for tea. Tonight I shall be put some washing on and get the shopping list prepared. However, in reality I'm far more likely to sit flicking through all the lovely Chrimbo books I borrowed from the library last night!!
Good news...the Christmas fairy [aka my Mummy] inadvertently let slip that I have a copy of Thrifty Ways for christmas and she has a copy too which she is already reading!!

I will try and call CAB, but I know what they're like for not answering, plus with my new job taking up my days in the week, I wont have time to pop along in person. Council said they had allready started the court proceedings before i made the payment, s'pose for the time being I just got to accept it for the time being. I said I will pop in after work one day before the hearing to see where we go from here.

Your right about my sisters card, think I might just put it in the bin, it will save another family rut! and I could do without more hassle from her. To be honest, I would much rather save my diesel - lol
    Thanks

    Afternoon everyone!!

Crazychik the council did the same to me i made payment agreement with them and the court papers crossed in the post so i had to stand to it!!
You dont have to attend the hearing i didnt they just add the court cost to the rent arrears and you carry on paying what you agreed with the council in the first place.
Chesterfield borough council dont know there ar@e from there elbow!!!

Had a lovely day cleaned the kitchen well and put away clutter from the sides, ie the slow cooker has a new home in freshly cleaned out cupboards.

Did abit more food shopping and ended up buying a few more presents that were a bargin.

Have had a card from my mum today and crazychik will know we havent spoke for 6 years, but i have just put it up with the rest and will not let it bother me.
Try and do the same crazychik dont let it bother you, i know thats why mum has sent me one not because she wanted to but to get a reaction , well she wont be getting one!!

Very foggy and cold around here. Did a bit more knitting on fluffy scarf and for lunch made frittata for four people and egg fried rice for three people. Also put chicken curry in slow cooker for tonight.

DD has a friend staying over so there will be seven of us tonight.

    Big hug to everyone.

I got a pill case thingy and it means that once it is filled up i can tell at a glance if I am running low on thyroxine or if i have taken the tablets for today - it only costs a pound or two.

    A tale with a moral......

Do Not and I repeat 345365 times - Do Not Clean your oven just before christmas....

Cos you might drop a screwdriver on the outter glass like I did and watch it shatter into a thousand and one pieces.

We're hoping that the only place in the country that stocks the spares will actually get a new one to us by friday - we're paying through the nose for super de doooper delivery.

See - no good ever came of cleaning ovens - I knew that.

On and OS note - the rest of it came up lovely, especially the stuff I left in soak in the bath all day in washing powder.

Just popping in to wish you all a wonderful Christmas. We are off tomorrow to spend a week away with OH's son, DIL and almost 2-year-old granddaughter. Hope I'll survive!!!!

I'm already suffering from computer withdrawl symptoms - not sure if I'll be able to access anything while we're away. I know I don't often post but I do try to keep up with everything that's going on.

Anyway . . . . thank you all for having such interesting things to write about and so many useful hints and tips. I'll miss you all more than you'll miss me - at least my Thrifty Ways book arrived today so I can take that with me so that I'll feel at home!

I hope you will all have the Christmas you wish for.
