Great news on the date MP! Keep us posted... ;)

Not much to report. Waiting for delivery of groceries - last one before Christmas, just fresh fruit and veg from the farm shop now.
Need to get the HM Greek Spiced Honey cakes (x3) out for cousins and uncle and glaze them with warm honey, then make a decoration on top (cinnamon sticks - tied with rafia, dried orange and whatever. Then wrap in cellophane and ribbons.
    They get delivered tomorrow.

Not much else to do today :T

So glad it went well MP. Don't worry about being away for two weeks - my usual mistake is to see to much of them too quickly - absence makes the heart grow fonder, and ensure you don't fall head over heels too quickly :D

  • Morning everybody :hello:

Well, it's been one of those mornings so far - was planning a "weekday lie-in", i.e. to get up as late as possible while still being on time for work - so didn't set my alarm to start going off until 7 (aiming to wake up slowly and be ready to go by about 8:15!) but somebody rang my doorbell at 6:50 and woke me up  - by the time I got to the entry-phone I could still see him at the door but he disappeared just as I started saying hello  - I wonder whether it was actually anything to do with me, or whether he just needed to get in through the front door for some reason and tried my bell cos I'm in Flat 1?

Snowy and PenPen - I don't have my tree yet either. I always like to leave it until a fairly late stage as I don't really like to start celebrating Christmas until Christmas Eve, also so the tree stays looking relatively fresh up until Twelfth Night. And this year I can't get a tree until I've got something to stand it in!

Meeting my dad for dinner tonight in Covent Garden - not sure yet where we're going but I know he'll be paying :D I have to give him his Christmas present, a miniature of 30-year-old single malt whisky (the miniature cost what I would normally have spent on a full size bottle, but I chose quality over quantity :D)

((((Hugs)))) to anybody in need, see you later

    Rzl xx

    Morning Everyone

Final day in the office today:j (assuming I get everything done that is so that should focus me) then its a bit of a break for me which Im really looking forward to as January is extremely busy.

36_15_62.gif Christmas plans for me involve going to my parents for one day and my brothers for two so I just need to make sure I have enough presents and liquid nourishement to take with me. I am considering dropping in on Penny Watcher though as it sounds like she needs the numbers increasing for Chrismas lunch - hate to see anyone alone;) ;)

Yesterday was an utter day from hell - I had decided to nip over to the Isle of Man for a couple of hours to meet with a couple of people I needed to see before January (its only a 45 min flight from Liverpool and lots of them so thats easily done:o )

Got to Liverpool for the 8.25 flight one hour delay - annoying but manageable(should have come home at that point!!)
Arrived in the isle of man at 11 ish in the end
Met with my two customers and took one out for lunch
Jumped in the cab and back to airport for the 4.15 flight to Liverpool
    CANCELLED - AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Good old Liverpool was fog bound and all flights cancelled. Options now were either stay in the Isle of Man (with no clean clothes/toothbrush/make up etc) and have to pay for a hotel, or get a ferry (arrive in Heysham so that useless) or try to fly to Manchester (but car is at Liverpool:eek: )Chances are Manchester was going to close too so all advice was go away and come back tomorrow

Anyway I decided to stick it out for a while and waited to see if the Manchester flight went -(I know every inch of Ronaldsway airport now and its not a place to be for 5 hours:rolleyes: ) It finally went thank goodness and we landed in a very foggy manchester.

On a real positive note after a very tiring and stressful day I met some lovely people on the plane coming back (Dunkirk spirit everyone was chatting to everyone!!) A couple of lads who were going to the Liverpool/Arsenal match and were so devoted would do anything to get there (they cancelled the match in the end :angry: )and a couple of women who worked on tv and knew loads of celebs :j so got some goss! Anyway when we got to Manchester we decided to get a taxi to Speke (Liverpool) to pick our cars up (£60:eek:   what a rip off but ok between 5 of us I guess)

So finally got home after my quick nip over to the Isle of Man at 10 very tired and in need of a large baileys:D Next time I think I will phone them:rotfl:

Right off back to work now -hope you all have a great day

    Nels x
  • Morning everyone!

The countdown is on! Only 2 more days left of work - then over 2 weeks off - whooppee, I can't wait!

Planning a lazy night tonight as I've been out the past few nights and really felt it - I'm so tired (I know, broken record!).

I'm going to finally get organised for Christmas at the weekend - I can't wait to get to Thursday night! Just got to convince myself not to check my work emails over the holidays (damn outlook access from home!).

Not so sick this week which has been great but also worrying - I don't think I'll ever stop worrying that everything is okay.

Love to Joannasmum - I've been thinking about you.

Kazonline - Try epeels for your peelable window stickers

How did your exam go MrsA? When do you get your results?

    Love to everyone

    Valentine xxx

Thanks peeps, I had such a nice time, seems a shame I have to wait 2 weeks. Hopefully he won't bump into anyone under the mistletoe over Crimbo!

Nelski, wow what a trip! You poor thing, but sounds like you made the most out of a bad job :)

BargainRzl - Have a nice time in Covent Garden. I always like to go to the Sofra restaurant, yummy and reasonably priced.

P.S. Sending hugs to Joannasmum, just back tracked to read what happened. Very sorry for your news, thinking of you.

  • Morning to all, up early today, DD3 has finished school and is off to spend Xmas with the Dad in Qatar tomorrow. The thing is I had so much planned to do and now I am so dreading her going for 2 weeks that I can't cope with the idea. I have to take her to Heathrow and give her to a stranger to look after for the flight and then at the other end her Dad will be waiting with his new wife, new baby and new life. What if she won't come home. She is 9 and could choose who to live with. He is very rich and they have a beautiful home with a swimming pool and maids and everything. Why would she come back to poverty, wind, rain and a small house with too many people in where everyone gets nagged to clean their own bedrooms and take turns in making cuppa teas.

    Sorry for the moan.

Love to all esp joannasmum - I have pmd you.
