    Morning all

Thankfully the fog has cleared here. It was so bad last night you could barely see your hand in front of your face, my throat is feeling scratchy so it looks like I may have laryngitis for christmas, that will be a nice present - not!

DD is still in bed, she got so excited about doing the tree last night we could not get her to go to sleep until 10.30, as her bedtime is normally 7pm I think it has been a big shock to her system and she is still sleeping :D

Today is just toddling down the street to the florist to beg some cellophane for the 2 hampers I have made up, home to do some housework and wait hopefully for the last 3 parcels to be delivered.

    Have a good day all.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

  • Good morning everyone :hello:

Its another frosty morning in County Antrim yet in a strange way not as cold as yesterday.

Only 2 more working days to go. I don’t include Friday as there is no work done on the last day. Some would say I don’t work on any day.:D

Later on I will be taking my mother out to finish her shopping and will pick up a few odds and ends for us.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Morning everyone!
DS was out late last night (gone midnight as 6th form Crimbo party) I was supposed to go to bed - but you know how it is when your nest isn't full.... Ah well, at least it gave me chance to do some posts on MSE :D

Snowy (((hugs))) I'm not up to date with all that's going on with you as I can't allways post on MSE, but please do PM me if you ever want to. I've had a very bad dose of the D in the past, and have read loads on how to improve things - I'd be more than happy to share it with you if you feel like you're heading that way.
N9eave - Truro Crimbo shopping sounds so lovely. I wish it were easy to up and move to be near my Mum (st cleer). We all love Cornwall so much, particularly Newquay because the boys love surfing/body boarding.
Kyle - probably join you in making h/m pizza tonight as got a few reduced 'scraps' off the deli last night.
Penny pincher - do consider getting one of those pill boxes. I went through a spate of not being good with my tabs (have I taken it or haven't I?) and found it a godsend. I often went to get my daily pill (yes, couldn't even 'manage' the one!) only to discover I'd already taken it.
Pen pen - that h/m sausage and beans sounds good. I used to make a h/m spag in tom sauce when my darling were little and fussy - but do you think I can remember how now? (I used to make it beacuse it was far better for them that all the rubbish with preservatives - perhaps that's why they prefer fresh foods/fruit now?)
Catowen - Hope you have a lovely Christmas Hun. Seems an eternity since we last spoke, but warm wishes go to you often.
Tired Mum - hope your leg wax & tint goes well. I had mine (wax) done at college a short while ago (freebie) and I have to say it was the best I've ever had (bad reactions in the past)
Queenie - Sounds like you were getting the whole years bad luck in one day - at least that'll leave none for your trip :D

Two of the boys are staying home today, but hopefully I'll get my head into gear and do something productive with my day. At the moment I seem unabel to focus on Crimbo because I can't get my mind off which path to take with my finances. Crazy eh?
We're starting to run out of peelable window paints and I'd love to get some more, but struggling to find somewhere that sells them. Does anyone know of somewhere decent online - or even make them?
No doubt my post is going to be huge already so I'd best say cheerio (for now ;) ).
    Lots of love,

    Good morning everyone

I'm feeling quite positive now that I have finished the Xmas shopping and been to Tesco. (I was feeling quite panicky that I was never going to get done in time)

My sister is visiting today so although I've got lots of jobs to do before the weekend if they don't get done before she arrives they can wait. We're going to Freeport and then going to have lunch out (a rare treat)

    Anyway I'd better get on

    Have a lovely day everyone

    Bye for now

  • Good morning everyone! :j

Sorry to hear some people didn't sleep very well last night. :grouphug:

I'm feeling all festive today, despite the dodgy roads everything looks so festive with all the frost. Last night on radio 2 there was an uninterrupted hour of Christmas songs which made me feel properly Christmassy for the first time. I'm started to get excited now! :D

We got home last night and found the darling cats had raided the kitchen bin, all over the floor, and had eated the wax from the cheese. We're bracing ourselves for the sicky consequences waiting for us tonight, I've already had the litter tray results. Anyone would think we didn't feed them!

I finally brought myself to put 20 odd mince pies in the freezer as I just kept picking at them, which is NOT good! At the same time I found some cod so I got that out to defrost for a fish pie....and then found the thread about worms! Better not tell hubby.

Nothing to do at work again today so I've finished pinning up grandad's pressy and now just have to hand sew the rest. I forgot my needles though so when the boss gets in I'll just nip to the shop and get some, they'll always come in handy.

Not much more going on today really. Hope everyone has a lovely time.

N9EAV Your son's cast made me chuckle. When I broke my collar bone I was soooo disappointed when they didn't plaster me up. It's a kudos thing. Plaster at school is cool! :D

Essex Girl I know what you mean about new year - new start. I'm looking forward to it as for the first time since I was 18 I will be debt free and am feeling confident I can actually start saving in earnest. It will really be a new start for me. As soon as my MMR jab is confirmed 'safe' around February then we're hoping to try for a family which I have wanted for so long. It's really going to be turning point for us I hope.

Penny Pincher I hope the hospital goes OK tomorrow!

Sorry if I've missed anybody out - I struggle to remember everything by the time I come to post! :o
    New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j :D
  • Hello everyone!

Catowen, i have been reading the thread (well skimming if I'm totally honest:o ), but been so busy I've not posted. Despite hardly stopping to draw breath I'm still way behind for Christmas, feel like a hamster on a wheel at the moment:rotfl: Did the trip down to see my Dad on Monday, over 10 hours travelling for a 5hour visit, totally knackering. So didn't function very efficiently yesterday.

Today I have to wait in for a signed-for delivery, so I plan to have a good go through the house. I'm sure there is one under all this mess:D :o Not sure if I want the delivery to be late so I concentrate on cleaning, or early so I can get out for more shopping:confused:

Whatever, it's time I wasn't on here, so hope you all have the Wednesday you want, and (((hugs))) to all that need them.

    Bye for now, CMx

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :santa2: Morning!

Just had 2 veg boxes delivered as I still have alternate deliveries, it was organic country stores turn this week but I ordered a Christmas box from Abel and Cole. So now no need to panic about the veg, I am going to pop it into the Lakeland green bags and then into the fridge and keep fingers crossed. They do seem to work very well.

I have started a 4th scarf now in a lovely glitzy black wool from wilkinsons (think I will keep this one for myself:D) I have found that the wool from Wilkinsons, while very pretty, does have a fair few knots on it and just want to warn anyone using it not to trust the knots and knit them in, I did this once and the knot pulled apart and I lost several rows of knitting  so just untie knot and start afresh.

Decoration for today, day 20, are some Christmas lights above the fireplace. :xmassmile

I have to decorate the hm sweeties today and then they are done. The dark chocolate covering was from Lidls and was lovely, well I had to test one!;)
Have heard that dark chocolate is being used to treat fatigue, think I will volunteer to be a guinea pig for that one!:D

    Have a good day!

    Morning all

Feeling a bit bleary eyed this morning as I had a rather nice time last night :D

First 'first' date in 11 years and it all went ok. He was the perfect gentleman, I wore a smile or evening and now we're planning to meet up in the New Year. How annoying I'm away for two weeks!

Had a bit of a shock this morning, looked at the date and it's the 20th December, how did that happen?! I have yet to buy all my presents or wrap them. Oh dear, how i wish I was organised like the rest of you.

But, going home to SWest tomorrow - hurrah - for 2 weeks. Yippee, no more tiny room in London for a bit.

Hoping that 2007 is going to be a positive year for all of us.
