Sat/Sun 25th/26th June - What small things will you do this weekend??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
Hi everyone & happy weekend  am up early as usual & want to make the most of the weekend
so plans for me include:

Morning all:j
I had a good sleep - was in bed at 10.30 last night, asleep definitely by 11...then woke up at 10 today:eek: I only woke because dd2 texted me from her friend's. Her friend had a letter about teacher strike on Thurs so my dd wanted to know if we had one. Letter duly arrived and both of my 2 have the day off on Thurs...bet I don't tho;)
So, dd1 is still asleep of course:o We enjoyed our chinese last night - so lovely not to cook, I just relaxed with a cider and watched the tennis:T
Ok, here's the plan for today:- check banking
- do P-cone survey that's waiting in my inbox
- drop dd1 into town...friend picking them up
- meal from plan tonight - cajun chicken and wraps with hm wedges
- hoover through house
- check fridge/cupboards etc and make meal plan and list for next week
- ironing
- uni work while girls both out
- put washing on if it dries up
- sort returns and possibly return to shops tomorrow
Have a lovely weekend all of you:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Morning all
Thanks dnms for starting us off and enjoy your Pizza Express lunch! Brazil sounds amazing too, lucky thing! Enjoy your squash serendipity, rather you than me there! Sun isn't shining here either Emz - in fact it's grey, windy, chilly and quite frankly looks like it's about to p*ss down!!! Feel bad for the care home next door (we live in a house built in the grounds as it's an old manor house - our garden used to be it's swimming pool!) - as they are run by a lovely couple and this afternoon is their summer fete. Last year I have a sodden memory of drinking Pimms under a summer-weight tent thing as it bucketed down...wasn't fun. May avoid popping over but I like the raffle!!! Where are you going on holiday ixia? Yum, Cajun wraps Pixie? Think I'll have to see if I can get some chicken today, that sounds lovely!!!
I'm tired today, think I'll have a quiet one pottering...plenty to do though! My assignment is due on Tuesday and I still have 1.5 out of 4 questions to complete for it so must get some OU work in! The list:
[strike]1. Check OnePoll morning[/strike]
[strike]2. Check surveys morning[/strike]
[strike]3. Dark wash on 30[/strike]
[strike]4. Hang dark wash to dry[/strike]
[strike]5. White wash on 40 ECO[/strike]
6. Hang white wash to dry
[strike]7. Breakfast from stores - toast butter and Marmite....yuuuuuuuuuuuuum[/strike]
[strike]8. Plan meals for next few days[/strike]
[strike]9. Write list based on above[/strike]
[strike]10. Do small shop accordingly[/strike]
[strike]11. Check One Poll afternoon[/strike]
[strike]12. Check surveys afternoon[/strike]
13. OU work - Do section 4 of Unit 8
14. OU work - Do section 5 of Unit 8
15. OU work - Do section 6 of Unit 8
16. OU work - finish Q4 on assignment
17. OU work - post more in discussion on forums
18. Bedding in wash - 60 but ECO
19. Hang bedding to dry if doesn't hammer it down!
[strike]20. Check OnePoll evening[/strike]
[strike]21. Check surveys evening[/strike]
[strike]22. Stay in today as probably going out tomorrow, so only local trips out[/strike]
[strike]23. Check bank a/c[/strike]
[strike]24. Check budgets again after yesterday's complete revisions![/strike]
25. Think of ways to make money I'm blankity blank! Already do all the little things and don't have time for part time job due to OU work on weekends and demanding job in week! Hey ho, budgets just about work out though, so it's not completely bleak!
Have a great day all...!

Ey up all - totally forgot to post for a few days, oops!
Got the cheque from my landlady - was more than I expected, which is a bonus - and got my payslip from work: will be getting an extra £60 in this month's pay :j
Plans for the weekend include:
Check online banking
Check onepoll
Chase OU re: financial stuff
Knit at least 20 rows of Xmas scarf 1
and, on the non-money-relevant side:
Bake brownies for the boyfriend, and gooseberry muffins & banana bread
Clean the kitchen & bathroom (living with three men in their 20s, it bloody well needs doing!)
Going to watch my boyfriend's american football team play tomorrow PM I think, which'll be nice
Shuffling down the path to financial freedom, trying not to get too distracted by shiny things!

Well hello there my lovelies
Big shout out to DNMS for starting us off  Wow! To three weeks in Brazil over Christmas!!! That will be awesome!
'Teaching' my first yoga class today - MIL and SIL don't know what they're letting themselves in for as my guinea pigs
After that we'll be staying round the in laws for a BBQ. So pretty cheap - just take a bottle of wine and £6 to share a taxi home with SIL. £11 should do it for today and saves us cooking
Got mum's belated bday pressie [STRIKE]- gave in and used Groupon reluctantly... but only £9.50 + p&p for a photo book, which she'll love. [/STRIKE] Arghhh, just realised I had £6 credit in Groupon so it would've only been £3.50! Have emailed to cancel that deal and will try buying another with the voucher IYSWIM...
Started a spending diary again for this month - trying to include all payments this time (debts/DDs etc) rather than just keeping an eye on my 'pocket money' like I did before.
Reading a free book on Kindle - The Book of Tea - lovely essay on the art of the Japanese tea ceremony and living simply/minimalism.
Usual weekend stuff too - cleaning/clearing out/washing/sorting stuff for the week coming up...
Entered a couple of competitions.
Did a couple of surveys - Pinecone is great - thank you Picasso for the referral. Money goes straight to PayPal too so just going to leave it to build up for a while without thinking about how much I've got.
Hoping to do a bit of yoga too - not done my homework for the course next weekend
Oh, going to do a VSP transfer too.
