Morrisons - will they ever go online?

They are currently working on it. That's why the purchases Kiddicare.com so they can use their online system. I think they are planning to go live in 2012/ 2013

In my experience any reduced fruit or veg in Morrisons is fit only for the compost bin! It goes off very quickly in any case, at full price.
I would certainly consider shopping online at Morrisons too. My local one is far too crowded and crammed with very narrow aisles. I personally cannot face going there.0 -
I hope so too, that way I can compare their prices against Tesco easier, as Tesco and Morrisons are in my home town.0

Hi All,
I work at Morrisons and the word from inside the company is that the online operation will go live at some point next year. But apparrently they are maybe going to look at ordering the products online etc but then the customer picking them up in store rather than having them delivered as the delivery side is where all the problems tend to occur. This still means that the customer will only be in the store around 5 minutes rather than 45.I may be wrong so Dont shoot the messenger.

They do have a strange policy. A tiny bit off for a long time, and then everything goes down to 9p 10 mins before shutting. I tend to find myself in there at 7.50pm0 -

It's not a strange policy, it's common sense and it works very well. For the stores that is, not for us customers.
My local reduces stuff by a few pence first thing in the morning, and by tea time most of it has been sold. They are bought by people who shop during the day and never see the huge reduction in the evening.
They think 4 pies reduced from £2.60 to to £2.40 at 4.00pm is a deal to good to miss. They don't know that if nobody buys them by 7.00pm they will be down to 29p and if they are still there at 7.30pm they will be reduced to 15p.
They just go home feeling lucky they got 20p off a pack of pies, and have no idea their are people going in at 7.25pm and being disappoint that there are no cheap pies left.
It's not just the pies, it's everything, there's never much left in my local store after 6.00pm.
But now there is a whole new group of people in town who think Morrisons is great for reductions now, because when they do their shopping on the way to pick the kids up from school they can get a loaf of bread reduced from £1.20 to £1.10.0 -
It's a strange policy at my local store
I go in regularly - the same stuff is there at 7.50pm as there is at 3pm - it doesn't have that many shoppers so doesn't work.
Besides... I'm happy with the policy
Edit to say: you're right about some people who think if they get 10p they have a bargain - my dad thinks if it has 3 p off it's a bargain!!0 -

i liked your use of the words "online operation":D
so really they are not offering online shopping, just a psersonal shopper service, if i am going to the supermarket i would rather pick the things myself than pay for the roulette of "you take what they pick for you"
i shop 99% of the time online
sainsburys give the best service & products
asda are the cheapest, but their deliveries are appaulingly late, short dates and LOTS of products charged for and missing
and i would rather starve than use tesco
offering a shopping service is too little too late by morries, for me anyway0 -
I like Morrisons food and prices...but I really wish they'd do something about the amount of 'clutter' in the aisles.]
Their stores don't have the widest aisles to start of with (certainly not compared to the Tesco Extra sizes stores) but then they make things worse by adding baskets of tat everywhere. On a busy day it can be a nightmare navigating the aisles as a result.0 -
I love Morrison's salad bar. Not sure how that would work for online shopping though, I'd have to write a note: "small amount of lettuce, 2 slices red pepper, generous spoonful spicy chicken pasta, 1 boiled egg..."0
