Lost presents!

I bought my daughter some really nice presents back in October and now I cannot find them anywhere. I may have taken them to my partners house but I have searched it everywhere too and they are nowhere to be seen.
Please tell me you have done this too?
I feel like such an idiot, I can't re-buy them as some where not available anywhere but on the internet and now its too late. I am so mad and keep looking in all the places they could be even though I know they are not there.

Not quite on that scale, but I bought a huge roll of sticky tape last month and can't find it for love or money now. Really need it too, as I ran out half way through wrapping yesterday. I'm loathe to buy another roll as I bet it turns up as soon as I do.
What you should do, is this weekend or whenever you've got some time is to literally comb the house. Start off by the front door and meticulously go through every drawer, cupboard, behind and underneath all furniture etc.
Alternatively you could borrow two small children. Offer them £20 each to find them and let them loose. I bet they find them in record time with that incentive!!
Good luck, I really do hope you find them. If you really can't then maybe print off the pictures of them, explain what happened and give the pictures as promises?"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
Thought it was just me.
A few years ago I though I was going mad looking for presents I'd bought earlier in the year. Turned the place upside down and inside out several times. Nowhere to be found (or so I thought). Four months after that Christmas I found them in a carrier bag at the back of a wardrobe shelf. I still swear to this day someone put them there later  Now I make a note of where I store things as I buy them. 0 -
I bought my daughter some dolphin earings a couple of months ago, and i cannot find them anywhere!!!! I had to go and buy her some more, as dolphins are her favourite animals at the moment, and she lost one of her original dolphin earings and was really upset.
Im waiting for them to turn up now ive bought a replacement!!!!0 -
I bought a Millennium £5 coin for my daughter's stocking back in 1999 and I still haven't found it

This year most of her things are languishing in my dirty washing basket as its one place I know she won't go

I'd go with alleycats idea of printing out pictures and explain what has happened. The missing pressies will probably turn up a few days after Xmas ...just when you've given up looking and in a place that you have looked several times;)I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0

I do this sort of thing all the time! I put something away safe and it disappears forever! Ive even been known to buy the same present twice because Ive forgotten that Ive already bought it! I have also bought two different presents for the same person forgetting that Ive already bought them something!
Also I have bought a few presents thinking "box of chocs for this person, body lotion for that person" etc and then when it came to wrapping them not being able to think who certain presents were meant for!!!
Ive made detailed lists this year!
Hope you find your missing presents, Choccy. 0 -

Good luck hunting!

I've done this as well, I bought some Rainbow Fairy books for DD off Nana, back during half term and can I find them - can I heck, I've searched my house and my mum's incase I'd given them to her. BUT no joy so far. And they were the big thick books and we're on 3 4 2 when I got them. Might just have to buy one other one and hope the rest turn up at some point.0

I used to do this all the time.
At Easter, I bought my daughter placemats and coasters to match the wedding china we were giving her. Lost them. Bought replacements, and lost them too!
I started a computer document called Stashed Things, and now list everything.
I have since found both sets of mats, which she will have for Christmas.0 -
I'm so glad it's not just me who does this!
Back in November I bought a DVD for DS3's birthday (4th Dec), but could I find it when it came to wrapping time? No. Turned the house upside down. Still no luck. Gave up.
Fast-forward to last week to work's Christmas do. Dress a bit tight - panic -magic knickers needed. Rummaged at the back of knicker drawer - and there it was, the DVD!
I really don't remember putting it there! Guess what he's getting for Christmas....... [0
