you're a real hero, after going through all that trauma.
My thank you Custordy and it was no trauma, just had some horrible stuff to get rid of (smelly camembert) and did not want it in my bin.
But thanks"I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0 -
I post the To The Occupier letters I get in the post box on the other side of the road!!0

MPS Frequently asked questions
MPS will not be able to reduce mailings addressed to either the Occupant or Homeowner. The service works by companies suppressing their mailing lists at surname and postcode level. If you are receiving mailings addressed to the occupier or homeowner you must contact the company who sent the mailing directly and ask to be removed from their delivery lists.0 -
Virgin Media normally target houses directly - those that either can get cable because the street is wired up, or to houses that have previously has the service.
As for postman delivered rubbish, opt out via the link provided above with Royal Mail (involves a form coming out in the post). This thread has prompted me to renew my opt out - it expires after two years and I now have a daily tirade of rubbish streaming in.
Virgin are not focused with this. They also send these 'occupier' letters to people who do already have their service.
I seem to have got rid of Bosch reminders of extended guarantees by send the letters back to them in their own stamped address envelopes. I haven't received any more since doing this.0 -
But in this case since the OP had gone to the trouble of collecting a nice lot of them up, I really think he should have stuffed them in the nearest post box, marked return to sender, rather than just re-cycle them himelf- it may be just farting in the wind, but I'm sure he'd feel better for it
I don't suppose they have the problem of junk mail on Necker island - Yet !0 -

Like Stonk (end of page 1) I looked here after trying various strategies to dissuade Virgin Media, so far without success but I'm not giving up either! I've since read the repetitive advice of others, some of whom have clearly never cared that their requests get ignored, or who are resigned to the status quo persisting.
I've not tried notifying it of an admin fee for processing its mail items, but when I send its customer services team the latest pile of tree pulp it sent against my wishes I shall make the admin charge the price Sir Dicky paid for Necker!
VM has moved on from sending to "The Occupier" at our address and the postie is now delivering VM Junk Mail addressed to me personally.
I'd like this game to end soon, but it's no stress returning or forwarding their rubbish to them. How else (were I to recycle it for them) are they to learn not to waste their money or pillage forests for paper pulp?:D0 -
I suspect that any junk items returned to the postbox with 'return to sender' just get binned by the post office staff.0

We get this stuff from Virgin and we're customers anyway!0
