How do I stop Virgin media junk mail

MPS will not stop this stuff, as it's always addressed to 'The Occupier'.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Ooh for gods sake just rip it to bits and chuck it in the bin
or are people too lazy to do it ??
Just had a rethink on that ............. they'd rather just moan about it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
I know someone who rolls the junk mail up into a thick wad, stuffs it into the return envelope and pops it in the postbox back to them, so that Virgin then has to apparently pay the cost of receiving a fat envelope. If more people did that I wonder if they'd rethink their marketing tactics.0

Been doing it for years - Virgin are one of the companies NOT to take the hint :mad:Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
I'm with VM and still get this mail, TBH I dont bother too much about getting junk mail, my thoughts on it are that it helps keeps folk like the postie, printers etc. in a job and unlike the telephone calls you receive it's not really intrusive, also lets be honest it doesnt take much effort to throw in the recycle bin0

The only way we may get Virgin's attention is to let them feel it in their wallet. How? Simple: put the "to the occupier" mail back in the mailboxes of Royal Mail.
Virgin exploits a loophole in the regulations around junk mail by sending their advertising to "the occupier" or to "the householder" with your address on it. Royal Mail is legally bound to deliver this, but they're not complaining because they earn money on these mailings.
When putting it back in the mailbox and write "return to sender" the Royal Mail can only send it back to Virgin. Surely when enough people do this, either Royal Mail is going to lose money on this, or they will start charging Virgin. Either way, it will get attention.
Only way it is really effictive of course if when lots of people do this...
your alternative: accept the situation and dump it in the recycling bin0 -

this doesnt even make sense. Are they making money or not?

Virgin send me same too, but we do not have cable in village let alone infinity from BT! So why they do not stop is beyond me. It goes in compost bag and disappears every 14 days.0

Like post 25 and 26 open said envelope fill it with heaviest, dirtiest, smelliest rubbish then tape it up and redirect to sender.
Either way Royal Mail/Virgin will have a stench to deal with.
I have done something similar past due to constant barrage of unsolicited mail from other large companies, even after phoning them several times to STOP!"I think I spent 72.75% of my life last year in the office. I need a new job!!"0 -
