Options
I must get at least 2 letters a month from them addressed to the occupier this got a great big padded envelope with there rubbish in it.

I am collecting it up to send it back to them. Any ideas how to stop there direct mail campaign is a waste of paper I'm with sky and direct mail will never make me switch to any company.:mad::mad:

  • If it is addressed to "the occupier" then it is usually delievered via Royal Mail on their rounds, and is put through every letterbox. You could possibly have a word with your postman about not putting it through (mine's certainly friendly enough), or pop a sign on the door stating "No junk mail" or something similar.

If it just says 'the occupier' withiout your address, then it has been put through your door by the postman. The post office make a lot of money by delivering leaflets, You can speak to the PO and they will take you off their distribution list.

If its 'To the occupier' with it your addrress on it, then it's probably a mail shot. You need to register with these people:

    http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

they ared the Mail Preference Service. If you register with them, it stops direct mailers sending stuff to your address.

If you want to stop receiving leaflets delivered by your postman you need to go to this site http://www2.royalmail.com/you-home/controlling-your-mail

Unfortunately just phoning your sorting office doesnt stop it.

:rotfl:They'll just send around another. And sooner or later you will run out of bullets, and end up inside!

OP - don't know why you are stressing over this. Just dump it in the bin like everyone else does.

I have a bin in the hall for dumping all the junk in so it doesn't clutter up the house. Often there's no need to even open it, it's clearly "to the householder" or from a company I don't buy anything from. Every time the big wheelie bin is emptied I tip the junk mail in the bottom as a disposable liner to stop any small leaks from the bags making it dirty inside.
