  • Mrs moneypenny so sorry to hear of your loss:(

Another NSD today:D (4 out of 5) - however, it will all be downhill from here as now on hols for 2 weeks!:j

Must try to keep the spending under control.

Managed a trip to Mr L*dl today to look at cat scratchers (pet week) and came away without one! That is a first!

I have a couple of things on Gum*tree incl an air conditioning unit that I do use, but not that often as I'm conscious of the cost (put loads more insulation in the loft and this appears to be helping with the heat) so I thought I'd stick it on and see. Someone replied last night but haven't heard from him again yet:( so, if I sell that, the cats will get their new toy, if not .....

Really nice to see lots of people trying this for the 1st time this month (me incl) so here's hoping we cut down on the bills!

Well the first week of spending is over for me as I am going to stay at my parents for the weekend so won't be spending. I have managed to spend only £22.09 this week but have only had one no spend day, I really need to find something better to do than pop to the shops each day......think that something better should be a job!! If only someone would hire me! Wish I had artistic skills like some of the people on this forum, who always seem to be making things as I would love to be able to start up my own business. But with the state of the economy atm maybe now isn't the best time anyway.

Ooops waffled a bit there, sorry. Hope everyone is okay!

Did my first big shop of the month, ordered it online from Mr T, got the code for £15 off from quidco for the 1st order, so the whole shop came to £42.68 taking me to the £45.45 total. Still early days but I'm pleased how it's going:j

It's been a busybusy week, so only just getting a chance to check in. Sig's updated. Three NSDs, Mon-Weds, which I was pleased with. Then a small whoopsie frenzy on my way home from work, exhausted, last night - £6.47 between a Co-op and a 5-mins-to-closing-time M&S: lots of snacky ready-to-eat meats, sausage rolls, garlic bread, salads etc.

Him Indoors had friends over, so I just set out the packets on the kitchen counter, opened them, put out plates and cutlery, then told them we were having a Yellow-Sticker Buffet - 'Go in the kitchen and help y'selves, I'm knackered.' They thought it was hilarious, but brilliant - happily stuffed themselves, and it took next to no effort on my part. Plates and forks aside, clear-up was easy too. I won't make a habit of it [usually I knock up a pot of pasta or a curry for a much lower cost], but it's good to know that a pile of whoopsie grub can make three strapping [and usually quite fussy] lads happy :rotfl:

Then a couple of spends tonight on the way home from work - £4.90 at Mr T [Him Indoors requested milk - which I had a voucher for - and yoghurts, plus I spotted some reduced parsnips and mango chunks] and £1.80 at Mr S [ibuprofen and two bags of frozen chopped onion].

Planning a small top-up shop over the weekend, but intend to keep it under a tenner. [Only slightly crossing my fingers behind my back - really need to stay focused this month.] Keep up the good work, everyone. :T
Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides. :o
  • Value Stuff

    Mr S
Smoked Salmon Trimmings (about 98p) makes about 3 rounds of sandwiches)
Cream Cheese (about 47p I use with smoked salmon)
    Mozarella (think about 47p)
    Foil
    kitchen paper
baby bath to use in soap dispensers

    Mr T
Value yoghurts (about 27p for 4)
    foil and kitchen paper again

OH has popped to the shops for me twice this week so can't update sig until I get receipts. Determined to get the pampers two boxes for £20 but they have been out of stock both times in DS size. They have the smaller packs on two for 18 but they aren't as good value so going to hold out MSE style!

Partner bought some reduced potatoes for us after work ---> 2.5kg for 9p :T:T.

Had the breadmaker on and made a 2lb white loaf and a 2lb fruit loaf :). So that does the bread needed for my partners sandwiches for work and the fruit loaf works well for a snack for him at home or at work.

Just popping by to say that so far this month I have had 4 NSDs which I am delighted about. Only been to the shops once so far. I am planning on heading out to Home Bargains this weekend to look for a few things and to M & S before it closes for some reductions.
