Pushed Unwanted Loan

Oh yes the ever increasing CC and OD limit. Anyone ever call the CC company and say "I don't want the extra £1200 credit you just put on my card", what did they say?
I am just happy that they put the "newbie alert" next to my name or people may have really laid into me - dodged a bullet there!
This confuses me too.
They can put my credit card limit up to a million pounds for all I care, I just don't use the amount permissable.
Why should I bother writing to them to put the limit down?
Is this the realm of the credit card maximiser who spends every penny they can get their hands on?
They use the credit card company to control THEIR spending?0 -
ILW wrote:It is not optional, there is a clause that says "this cheque MUST be used by XX/XX/XXXX" Cannot argue with that. That doesn't mean the money disappears! It means the cheque needs replacing.
Some people are wierd when it comes to money, as the OP demonstrates.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

True, but then someone drops those little words in their ear, Mis-Sold and Irresponsible Lending.
How many posts do we see where the poster absolutley Genuinely believes this debt is the lenders fault (including this one)?
"The money was there, what else was I supposed to do?"0 -
So you blew 25k on shizzle and now you don't want to pay it back?"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

Regarding upping credit limits this is only bad if you cant help but spend all yor limit. if you manage you money well it drops your balance to credit limit ratio in your credit report. by reducing your limit you increase the ratio. you never pick your cc limit anyway.0

So most people would have accepted the offer of a loan from their bank for £25,000? Are you crazy? At least that's what I'd have said to the bank employee who made me such an offer. Why would I want to borrow £25k unless I had a specific reason to want £25k in the first place?
Personally I was impressed by the MSEr who on one thread likened credit to a hotel mini bar. Yes it's there, and the hotel put it there, but it's down to you to pay the bill if you consume the contents.
i dont think you read my answer properly, i wasnt saying the person who has blown 25K should have taken the offer of the money i was talking about MY experience and the post of another forum member above regarding being offered higher CC limits, in answer to your question NO i am not crazy but being driven a bit crazy by some of the stupid & rude answers people give on here.mummy to 3 monsters!
