abandonded wrote: »"If so, it's the best deal of all"..............Having decided to ignore the advice given here, I cannot but agree. As a result of my 'rigmarole', I am now some $76 better off for my holiday
Now you are looking more than a little childish.
I couldn't care less if you didn't take my advice, especially if you got a better deal.
But perhaps you have missed the point of this forum.
We share the good deals.
So I am asking you, did you get a Cash Passport card in Pounds without having to pay a loading fee?
If this is the case, surely you should be sharing the information with the forum, as you came to the forum for help.
Unless, this is all BS. I hope not.
So, did you get a card denominated in Pounds with no loading fee or did you get a Euro card or US$ card?
If so, perhaps you can explain how you think that you obtained an extra US$76??
I think you are just posting nonsense. I think that you just bought a Travelex Cash Passport US$ card. If you think that got you more dollars you are just wrong...as it's been explained to you already.
I reckon you got maybe US$3126 for your £2000. With TCPG you would have US$3168. US$42 more.
If you think you can feed us BS that you got US$76 more than the US$3168 that you would have with TCPG, you are sorely wrong. That would mean that you would have an exchange rate of US$1.622. Much higher than the current mid-market rate.
I'm confident in writing that you either don't understand how the cards work or you are just a timewaster and a liar.
Apologies if it sounds harsh, but misleading members for the sake of your pride is just pathetic.0 -
You really are miffed mate. I never for one second suggested that I got a preferential rate and if others read it as that then I apologise. What I did say was:
Tesco were most generous in dealing with their debit card error.

Why would I be miffed?? This is the MoneySavingExpert forum. We applaud when the consumer wins.
But your posts are just vague and in general, rubbish. This is a forum for sharing information, not acting like a pratt and gloating whilst not sharing the details with fellow members.
So let us know the details of the deal that you received. That could help anyone else caught in the same situation.
How many US$ did you get for your £2000 on the TCP and how much compensation did you receive from Tesco?
So, how about less bluff and bluster and more facts and figures?0
