.... or know anyone who has or know much about them? These online brokers seem to do some good deals but not sure how reliable they are or if they have a pile of hidden charges to surprise you with later.

Cheers.

I don't know about the company you mention, but some online brokers have a good name.

    One is drivethedeal.

See what price they come up with, you can buy with confidence, because you pay the dealer, not the broker.

Yeah I looked at Drive the Deal and they knock a bit more off the price than broker4cars but the latter charged less % on PCP so the car works out cheaper in the long run. Haven't heard the glowing reviews for broker4cars that I've heard of DtD though....
  • I'm out a few hundred quid when the promised car from Broker4Cars was not delivered. I was then promised a refund and have been waiting more than three months - and still waiting. Repeated requests for the promised refund have gone unanswered. Be very careful. I believe these guys are also related to Finance4Cars so check them out carefully too.

I've used Carfile in the past without any problems. My first car from them was in 1991 so, they have been around for at least 20 years. They introduce you to a franchised dealer and all money is paid direct to that dealer.

Ive ordered through Broadspeed and Autobytel.

    Both excellent from my experience.

  • I ordered a new car through broker4cars (KIA Sportage) back in September and had my vehicle delivered early November which I was more than happy with. Had a couple of emails that went unanswered with general questions but apart from that they were fine. (p.s my mother was declined for finance through these guys and got a refund of her money, except £5 which they keep for processing, within a week!) (just saying!!!)
  • I was promised a new car, but recieved a pre-registered one which meant that I did not get the log book, causing problems with going abroad, I was sworn at over the 'phone by one of their staff, lied to by another, and recieved no apology for the mis-sold car. The car is fine, just be warned, and use some other firm, and get EVERYTHING in writing. Do not trust them.
  • I ordered a car in January and 19 weeks later it still hadn't arrived, despite regular emails / phone calls from me from week 8. They eventually admitted it had never been ordered, even though on one occasion had given me an expected delivery date. I got my deposit back, although that took three weeks and multiple emails and a threat to go to my credit card company. They kept saying it had been processed when clearly it hadn't. If it had ever arrived it would have been a good deal, but it never did!
  • I made a serious and expensive mistake when I placed an order with these people; take my advice and go elsewhere as they can't be trusted to look after your best interests.

I placed an order in late June 2013 for a new Kia and paid their broker fee for the car to be delivered September 1st. I was contacted just before the expected delivery date and given the registration number and was asked to pay the balance, which I did.
A few days before the expected delivery I rang them to arrange a firm delivery date, I was told it would be a few weeks late due to the dealer being so busy.
Eventually at the end of September I was informed that the dealer had gone bust; I have tried to confirm the truth of this but can't find any details to substantiate their claim. They gave several different explanations of the facts so I suspect they just did not order the vehicle in the first place.

For the last four weeks they have been trying to find me an alternative vehicle, finally offering a car for £250 more than others brokers are currently offering, and £800 more than I paid originally (Kia have increased their prices since I placed the order in June).

Consequently I asked for my money back; but they aren't very good at doing that either, and tried to hang onto my money despite having let me down badly. I began to suspect that they were in financial difficulties and that I might not get my money back at all.
After making a nuisance of my self I did get the money back, but lost a lot of sleep over the matter, and I didn't even get an apology.

I have lost a lot of money, some £40 in interest and the £550 increase in the cost of the new car.

Save yourself a lot of grief and place your order with someone else.
