After a little while I got 'you've used this email address' (I'm paraphrasing a little here), which was odd. I checked my emails and low and behold, I'd received a code. I followed the link I received, hitting the dreaded wall again, so I gave up with my head hung low.
This afternoon, even though I read that all the cards had gone within 30 minutes or so, I followed the link again and got through straight away! For that, I want to thank all those at MSE, and its forumites, for this great offer. :T
A few tips that may, or may not, work for future offers like these:- Google the link, pasting it from the site, which calls up the site in its search. Open up the cached version and try to follow the links when the site has loaded. Sometimes this works, as you're loading google's latest snapshot of the site, sometimes it doesn't.
- Use different browsers, if you have them, as some can be slower than others.
- Restrict the amount of tabs you have open. This can be an issue in FireFox at times.
- Close all other programs you have running in the background, Spotify for example, as it's using your CPU usage which can slow your PC/laptop down
What I found worked was just hitting refresh. Even when I got the 503 error I just kept refreshing and then the page would load, as soon as I'd put in my e-mail address and clicked the submit button I'd get the 503 error again. However, clicking refresh a lot submitted the form and I got the success page.0 -
Yes, that works when you're waiting for tickets to go on sale, usually on ticketmaster.
In this case I used the back button, rather than submitting the whole page again, which worked well.Life's what you make it....

Life beyond voluntary work scares me, but what else is there?0 -

Has anyone else had an email requesting documents to prove your identity? I'm not really prepared to to that for a fiver on a card I wont use again... and dont remember it being mentioned before...:jThe Money Saving Wannabe :j

According to their website if they can't fully identify you they issue you with a restricted card (limits on how much cash on the account, how much you can spend at once/per year etc) and charge you if you want to provide ID and upgrade to a full card. Quite good of them to do it for free at the outset for this offer (I'm guessing anyway).0

I eventually got onto the card application page and registered my code, so I am now gettign a card! Thanks to all, esp. the MSE team, for setting this offer up and I'm sorry for anyone who didn't get one. This is my first time applying for one of these restricted offers and it will save me loads when I next book Ryanair flights (it's a pity I didn't have one a month ago!)
Au Res.,

So you basically applied with no intentions of using it after? Great! So people like me who wanted one for my daughter rather than her having pocket money to lose, miss out so you can grab the chance of a free fiver? Im all for everyone getting a freebie, but things like this make me mad!James thinks worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere
If i help you...Please thank me! :beer:0 -
