Just a quick question, as I never had an unpaid item dispute opened against me and I dont know the answer but wondered if anyone here does,

When she opens the dispute email, will it tell her she's got four days to respond?

Unfortunately, yes - and they often find the money just before it closes.

I truely believe the 3 strikes and your out as been watered down or scrapped by Ebay , and hence the increase in non paying bidders.

When i used to leave NPB's - you often saw the buyers account say 'no-longer registered' right in front of your eyes - and you knew it was their 3rd strike.

Now, i think they rely on sellers blocking people with 2 or more strikes (i would block 1 if i could). The 1 month and 12 month thing could be clearer too. I worked out that setting 12 months was the tightest setting - my nephew insists it needs setting at 1 month. I tried explaining that mine means the buyer has to be good over a year, and his only a month - but he does not get it.

Checked my blocked activity log yesterday - and a buyer with a feedback of 1800 was blocked from bidding on my item for too many strikes. You would think they would know better with that sort of feedback.

I agree with you it needs to be 12 months block. I'm amazed that my buyer realised she was blocked a couple of weeks ago but still came back to try again this week, and of course the month had passed and she bought.

I thought it probably did mention the 4 days because I've had others pay at the last minute. Was just clutching at straws really, hoping she'd still think she'd got another week or so.

As she thinks that most sellers give 7 days maybe she won't read it properly & think that she can respond when it suits her & miss the deadline.

It is a culture it seems. Bid but dont feel you have to pay.

The level of NPB's has certainly increased since eBay moved to the shopping cart system that is now in place. There was some speculation prior to it going live that buyers might add things to their basket and then just not bother or forget to pay - it seems this is happening.

She's just paid. I feel like refunding her but that will almost definately result in a negative, so I'll send parcel and keep my fingers crossed that her bark is worse than her bite.
