    I've been Money Tipped!
I read somewhere that MetroBank has free counting machines and you don't need to bank with them to use it. Is this true?

A few more small coppery ones popped in to the work tin this evening, still in need of a trip to the bank for cash bags but should have plenty of time to get to the bank before the opening day.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Of course you can join, ellionic! A very warm welcome to you. biggrin.gif Have great fun saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much

Hiya ellionic! I've just been chatting to you on the other thread and here you are, great to see you. You're welcome to be part of it all here this year (December 1st) and declare all you've saved so far, why not, you're one of the family now! ;)

A very early morning to you everyone. I've doing the washing on E7 to help out a bit.

hismummy that is absolutely marvellous news!!!!! :T That's one heck of a sum, very well done. I'm so pleased you had such a brilliant time. Thanks a lot for sorting your number out. You're welcome to display the sum saved on your sig larger than that, I would if I'd saved £1900!!

Oh sparky, you call preparing to go to New York in February..a confession?!!!! That's telling folk the good news. I reckon you've both earned that and I look forward to it with you! :grinheart

prepareathome, it's perfectly ok to include the money you've saved already with the savings here, why not!! :)

Hiya Mel, good to see you back again and I do so hope you had a brilliant holiday. Chin up, you can start again now. :D

Glad it's not JUST me forgetting the bags, Decluttering! :(

    Excellent with that £5er redbull!!

    Nicely potted, mumof3plusoh! :rotfl:

Sorry Bublin, I've no idea whether MetroBank has free counting machines, why not pop in and ask?

    Good for you, scuba.
Sparky what with all the overtime and all the spreadsheets to do looks like I'm safe for a while

ooh I dunno about that LC2, he's off to NY in February so he'll be travelling the lengths and breadths of the country to scrape up any roadkill - begging too I'll be bound!! If that's what he's like here Heaven help NY!!!! :rotfl:

:exclamati NB everyone, the only reason we have to wait a bit after the 1st December for the Grand Total to be announced is due to late comers. We don't want to keep on having to add to the GT now do we. So the sooner everyone gets their cash in on and after the 1st the better for us all - me included!

Don't forget everyone, there are only 8 days left !!!

  • 22p in the pot for me today. I've been checking pockets, drawers etc for any coins I may have missed! I did find a few euros, no notes, just small coins. Does anyone know if I can exchange these anywhere to add to the pot?

You are all doing really well I cant wait to see the totals. I am not going to keep track of every bit but rather get a nice surprise next year. I have a poundland tin next to my desk and was refunded from work for parking and milk that I had bought (after scraping pennies from the ash tray in the car) so they have gone in.

Sadly yesterday the mean vending machine got the better of me as they had re-stocked mini twix but the 25 p change I got went in the tin. I am also only allowing myself 1 sweet per day lol to make them last. :D

Not sure if I'm allowed to post links but there's a savings tin of a well known fizzy drink brand in a certain high street shop that I'm gonna ask for as a Christmas prezzie for me. It's £8 (hence why I'm not buying it for myself!) but quite large and you need a tin opener to get into it.

Thought it might encourage me to save even more as I won't open it till its full :)

Just a quick'n as I have to go to physio pronto; to answer your query, curly, there's no reason not to, so long as you 'hide' the actual people, company.

If you don't know how to do a link like that, then simply highlight the link from the firm then right click and "copy" it. Then paste the address at the lower part of the 'text box' you're reply in.

Next highlight the word "here" (which you've already said is where folk can see the bottle/pot), click on the globe-like symbol with what looks like a paper clip at the bottom of the globe, (under the white smilie directly above the reply box).

Click on it and copy the entire address you already pasted in the box into the bar that appears before you. All being well when you then submit the post you have the link for anyone to see the pot/bottle. :D

I've linked to our SPC thread here

All the best, curly, it's easy when you know how. Try a bit of practice work.

    See you all later.
