It'll be a pleasure to have you with us, LAM2011. A warm welcome aboard and have fun saving. :D You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how the challenge works. NB. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much. NB. Pots are emptied on 1st December 2011, thank you.

A great idea LAM2011 about saving the money you would normally have spent in the vending machine. Now that's what I call a saver!!!!

Oh what awful news jakes-mum! I'm so terribly sorry for you, your DH, young Jake and little Lily, it must have been such a shock for you and your DH. Is your DH an agency worker with any other firms? Try hard not to think too far ahead and take one day at a time. No doubt your DH will be searching hard for another job straight away, and hopefully he will get one soon. There's usually something that'll turn up for a willing worker, but for now, do try hard not to worry as, truthfully, it honestly won't help! Use that cheery nature of yours for the sake of you all!! Thinking of you all, Sue xxx

Don't worry, Purpleroses, I believe you WON'T be opening yours! ;)

It's ok, kerrirobberts, in truth you didn't sin at all as you put it all back plus more! However, do be careful eating chocolate when you've got sinus problems as it only makes it worse. I hope you soon get better.

How do I sign up for next year?

Wonderful news, 123budget!!!! I can see why you needed to open yours prematurely, enjoy the meal and shopping. :T

    To answer your question
    - no one has to sign up for next year, we all keep our numbers and names and we just carry on again on a new thread SPC 5 on the 2nd December!!! :grinheart

I'm pleased you're happy about the move, scuba, just be sure to find enough at the station to be able to pay to get o the train!!!! :j

No Lost, resisting is not futile and you know it, you terror you!:naughty:

It's about 16 days til we open them there pots, til then we ALL are patient, after all, we've waited this long, why not take the opportunity to save some more! You know you CAN!

You really make me giggle at times, e4rub, who else could have an OCD with saving?!!!!!! :rotfl:

95p is brilliant, Cherryjack! :D Some times we only save a copper or two, but it's some savings and that's what counts! It's what it means to us as individuals at the end of the year that counts so carry on saving and be delighted with every single penny! This time next year you too will be so excited!

Hi there LC2!!!!! :D I thought you'd abandoned us again - or moved back to the Pool!!!! It's great to see you back, especially as time gets closer! BTW, please don't bother about playing catch up with the posts, you won't be back til February!! :( Ah, sparky had a lovely time which he'll tell you more about ASAP. Re me, I'm still having lots of physio and will apparently need if for months, but at least it's slowly going in the right direction. :) I hope you and DH are both well, the littlies too, same as ours, bless em.

I love your way of thinking, kiss_me_now9, you'll teach him yet!!

See you all tomorrow folks, keep safe and saving and whether it's a little or a lot, it's what it means to YOU that counts! :)

Ah thank you everyone :) I know theres nowt I can do with the worrying, im just so annoyed as this is the 3rd time in 2 years, 2 companies went belly up and now he gets laid off from the company who sat across the table from him and promised him faithfully he was being given a contract at christmas and not to worry as they would need 2 blokes to do the work he does :(

I have had him on the phone to his original agency who have a driving job on the books but no start date which is driving all over the country picking stuff up, its only temporary but I think they have ear marked him for it. He has also rang 2 other agencies and has a sign up interview with one on thursday and the other is getting the warehouse person to ring him tomorrow. Im not one for resting on my laurels and I do tend to thrive in desperation :D I know he will get something else as hes such a darn hard worker I just hate to see him come home so dejected and depressed because these people lied to him :(

ooo your right lost2 I really did :) a slight upside today, he rang another agency this morning (see I said he was a hard worker :D) and they have asked him to go to their agency tomorrow after his sign up with the one from yesterday as they have a driving job on the books :D hes feeling a bit happier today with these few positive responses and I have said that when he gets something else I will save the £600+ for him to take his HGV licence just incase it happens again so that he knows he has a licence that means he can walk into most agencies and get work immediately :) He does have a forklift licence which is pretty desirable but you can never have too many strings to your bow I say :D

A rather paltry 3p in the pot today as I just dont dare put anything in until he's got another job :(

Afternoon folks, I hope you've all had a good day. Wet and miserable down here since 2pm, but I still like it as it's all part of winter and I try to find something good about every season - and do! :grinheart By heck I'm good!

Hiya jakes-mum, the news sounds a bit better today, more hopeful too - so here's hoping for you ALL. It sounds like he's a good worker and not too many good bosses can resist them! Here's a hug from me - for you all mind 420296rdc1hmvhrv.gif

Hey thanks Lost, I've just C&P'd that hug as it's not perverse like Martins dirty little huggers 420296rdc1hmvhrv.gif

Good for you, Susi_Wa and great news about your DD, very MSE and will stand her in good stead as she grows.
