always wanted to know why abuse can only be reported by email?
the posts have the 'report bad post' function but everyone is told to email? i would think this reduces the amount of abuse reportedYes Your Dukeiness0 -
Abuse can only be reported by email as guests can then report abuse too - plus we use an email managment system to ensure every report is looked at.

cant both methods be used? just wondering because i honestly think it means less stuff reported?
also how many people have moderator responsibilities as at times its quite a while before some things are dealt with it doesnt seem as if there are mods around a lot of the time and a lot of duplicate threads and things go untounched?

For some reason, here mods, sorry board guides, only have control over 2 or 3 boards, and also very limited controls at that. Where as on other forums I have visited, the mods have all levels of control except for access to the FTP servers on every single board.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
my site, we limit what mods can do like the cant view peoples profiles in admin and make changes to accounts just the bare minimum they dont need access to it
but think that they should be able to close/merge/delete threadsYes Your Dukeiness0 -

Oh they can do that here, and they do a fab job, very on the ball.
I think with the site I am talking about, the mods are very trusted, been there right from the begining, they have the right to ban anyone, search IP addresses ect. But its what works for each site and finding a balance.
I think this site has its guides sorted right, the only thing I could think of that could be done better, is if they had the right to do temp bans, running after disruptive members all night isnt fair on them, oh and maybe a few guides that can cover all boards for night time.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
do the guides have closing/deleting powers? all ive seen them do is move threads, very few threads are merged that i see anyway? maybe a case of needing more people then?Yes Your Dukeiness0
