Where did my thread go ?

I created a thread this morning on an experience i have had with LED's in my home and with an LED Company.
It seems to have been deleted, yet i have no message or e-mail telling me it has been deleted or under what possible reason?
It took me ages to write that and you can't even be bothered to tell me why you deleted it.
What a forum

Hello patrickswlondon
Welcome to the MSE site.
I'm a board guide for this board. I didn't remove your thread and I have no idea who did or why it was removed.
As you are a new member, it's possible that you haven't read the Forum Rules yet..............and so you might have broken the rules which lead to your thread being removed.
As I say, I don't know why your thread was removed. If you follow the Forum Rules, you're less likely to have a post or thread removed in the future.;)
Why has my post/thread been removed without telling me?
Posts/threads are deleted so we're no longer "publishing" them. While you may have posted it once we are made aware of it - we are legally liable too as the publisher. When something is deleted, it's removed from public view but it's still viewable by the Forum Team and can be reinstated if it needs to be. It won't show up in a forum search.
We never contact people when their posts are deleted. The sheer numbers of posts removed every day means it's simply impossible to contact everyone.
The Forum Team won't respond to aggressive emails demanding to know why a post/thread's been removed but if you send a polite email asking, it may review or explain the decision where possible (sometimes legal reasons prevent this). If you're still unhappy email webmaster@moneysavingexpert.com

Very strange, i construct an long post about the advantages and disadvantages of the LED lighting i've had put in my home by an LED company and apparently that may have broken the rules?
Surely a joke?
I've sent an e-mail asking for clarification.0 -
Are you sure you submitted it correctly once you had wrote it?
I've been posting for years, but even I occasionally knock the wrong button on my keyboard or something similar and delete what I have just written, or accasionally the broadband signal drops out, or the site freezes just as I submit, and the post gets lost.
Just for future reference, I was once advised that if I was submitting a particularly long thread, then it's a good idea to write it out in word or notepad first and then copy and paste it accross, that way if it is lost (for whatever reason), you can just copy and paste it over again.

I'm sorry? My thread was removed because some people THOUGHT it was spam (which it quite obviously was not).
How ridiculous and rude
How do you expect to get people interested in contributing to forums when this happens? I have photographic evidence of the visit from the LED company and all the bulbs being used around my house compared to what was there before?
What do you have to say about that?0 -
There definitely was a thread as the skeleton of it still remains on google - I thought I'd seen one earlier and had intended to look at it later as I'm interested in LED lighting.
The main usual reasons things disappear is if you are trying to sell something - i.e. promoting your own business, or attacking a company who then get the post pulled. There isn't enough of it left on google to see if either of these is a likely reason.
For what its worth, if board members are supposed to give new users a chance, then it might be reasonable for new users also to get a bit more hand holding from the board itself such as telling them why they've had their post deleted - unless its obvious!Adventure before Dementia!0 -
I believe it was pulled as it was quite blatently an advertisement for said company...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Well it most certainly isn't my company as i'm a tennis coach, a long way from being involved in lighting. Secondly it's quite clearly not an ad for said company as i clearly stated i hadn't been convinced by their spot lights, they were not as good as 5ow halogens and they were too expensive.
I really understand but each to their own, i simply won't bother to share my experiences in the future if this is how it is on here.
What a waste of my time.0
