Hi Everyone
Good productive day although have to 'fess up didn't manage any exercise or special treatments.
Have been using my frankincense/rose serum a couple of times a day and my skin feels really soft and smooth.
Managed to sort out a couple of drawers in the study - so made a start, hoping to blitz it tomorrow.
Well done on the weight loss PK.
Glad to hear you're all doing so well, yes we sometimes slip a little, life gets busy but we 're going to do this.
School hols make life even busier for mums of course so don't be too hard on yourtselves. You're allowed to relax a little.:rotfl:
G'night all x0 -
Well done on weight loss PK!
Same here regarding kids -find it hard to do basic housework when they're off so it'l probably be easier to keep to my pledge of taking it slow with my routines. Aim to make sure I excercise at least 3 times aweek though, carry on with the chewing and have a few relaxing baths. On the upside I do like it when kids are off (after the 1st week when I'm used to them being there) and probably won't have time to feel down!

Good morning everyone
Here we are with a nice long weekend ahead, nothing planned - nice! and the sun is shining. Quick tidy round, guttering man coming and hopefully out and about in the garden with OH.
I used to love being at home during the school hold with the kids, leisurely breakfasts, and just pottering about. You can count all your running around and sporty stuff with them as exercise.;)
When my boys were little, it was in the early days of breakfast TV with the Green Goddess and Mr Motivator so no excuses there - we all used to do them together.
Anyway have a great weekend everyone - later.
BTW Philsmum - I too read somewhere that Aspartame was harmful, so I try to avoid it. I never buy special diet food anyway - tastes horrible. I'm trying to reduce sugar in tea and coffee - down to 0.5 teaspoon so not too bad.0 -

Interesting reading, as always! As well as the general chat (which I love:D) there's so much on here that's really thought provoking.
I've been mulling over what MrsW had to say about her family's attitude to her health issues. It's a difficult one and I struggle with it.
Our DGD2 suffered febrile convulsions and a peanut allergy when she was tiny. She's had no convulsions for 8 years (grown out of them?) and no nut reaction either (avoids them but hospital still do an annual check). However, DD2 has fussed about her health so much over the years that I think it's affected DGD. DD2 definitely gives into her over all sorts of things and I've known DGD feign illness to get her own way. What I find most irritating is the nut business. We (DH, me and both DGDs) were in a Paris restaurant a few months ago and they brought a bowl of nuts with our aperitifs. DGD2 freaked purely because they were on the table. I must admit that I was matter-of-fact to the point of sharpness as no-one was asking her to eat them and I told her so. She obviously thought I was cruel and should have had them removed as DD2 would have done. What brought all this back was I went to see my new great-nephew yesterday. He's 5 days old and mother was saying he'd been 'poorly' just because he brought a tiny bit of milk back after feeds. I said nothing but thought to myself if she's going to tell him he's poorly over something and nothing then we'll have yet another mum giving in to every whim.
Thanks for listening to that ramble. I tend to keep quiet about it in RL and I'm not expecting agreement but it's been good to have a moan;)
Thanks for aspartame info philsmum. I was aware of some of the issues. Fortunately, I use very little processed food so wouldn't have thought it would be a problem for me with SW. Does the article tell you in what quantities aspartame causes these reactions?
About the highlighter: The one I have is High Beam by Benefit (treat using gift tokens). This is a pearly, pink liquid in a bottle with it's own brush. I dot it onto cheek bone and brow bone and then blend in with my finger. It just makes me look more alive! There are lots of highlighters available in pen/pencil form as well. I think that's what Touche Eclat is basically. Anyhow, I'm a convert! In tryng to describe this I looked on-line and there are heaps of great youtube clips about how to apply make up. I must try some.
Have a good weekend all!:)0 -
Hello again
OH has gone for a nap so thought I'd post now.
Have blitzed the spare room/study - although not gone through the desk and paperwork. Will save that for another day. Whilst I was at it I tackled DS2's bedroom:eek:
I tried really hard to make my boys into modern men, the eldest isn't too bad but DS2.................I feel that they are both rather "blokey" and I guess their future wives will blame me for spoiling them. I really did try though...........I guess "blokiness" is perhaps inbuilt and genetic:rotfl:.
OH is the most delightful of men, although he too could be a bit "blokey" at times. He never saw that housework needed to be done (although he would willingly "help" when I asked him). Cooking - well his idea of cooking me a meal was a meal out or a takeaway.:rotfl:
Still he was - still is - an absolute charmer. Think Jack Nicholson - without the womanising - he even looked like him - and you have my husband. Women adored him and he always had loads of mates. He may not have been very domesticated but he treated me like a queen, often calling me The Duchess or if he was being jokey "She who must be obeyed".
Anyway .......
Maman I completely understand what you are saying about mollycoddling being bad for youngsters. OH's carer has a daughter of 11, who grazed her arm yesterday, the fuss she made. My mum tried to do the same with my sister who had chest problems, fortunately my sis is made of strong stuff and rebelled.
My DS1 developed asthma as a baby and whilst I wanted to take care of him properly I was very conscious of not overdoing it like my mum did. He is now a glowing healthy sports-mad 27 year old, a real adrenaline junkie, rock climbing, surfing, skiing you name it. He still has asthma and chest issues but it doesn't stop him. As for sprains, bruises, fractures - well let's not go there.
When he was a boy we spent so much time in A&E with his sports injuries I was beginning to be afraid that he might be on some "at risk" register. :rotfl:
DS2 has no real health issues - apart from dental woes - but he does have a worryingly low pain threshhold. No idea why except my mum doesn't cope with pain very well so perhaps that too is genetic.
Getting sleepy now, so a quick nap and then exercise, dinner etc How the days whizz by.
Bye for now x0 -
Hello Ladies & Lurkers
A lovely sunny day here today. Had a lively time pottering about the garden, otherwise not much happening today.
Today's treatments - eyebrow tidy, mini manicure and a good slathering.
No exercise so farAiming to at least do a few tummy crunches before bed - not yet not long had dinner.
Hope you've all had a good week-end and are ready to get cracking next week.
G'night all x0 -
Very quiet on here today, hope everyone is out and about enjoying the weather.
I've not done a great deal either on the fab front. Just a shower, hair-wash, blowdry and slathering:D Oh I did deep condition my hair and it looks really good for it.
Off for a day out on the IOW tomorrow. Wardrobe planned, I'll do my make up properly and STAND TALL! You'd all be proud of me!!!0 -
@maman I use the Benefit highlighter thingy too, although I got mine free with a magazine a month or so ago. It's really good though, think I'll buy it when this pot is done.
Had a quiet weekend as Aunt Irma has arrived and I had a lot of cramping and was bleeding heavily. Which is normal for me but leaves me kinda wiped so was a weekend of relaxation.
I did do my hair though, and the blue looks nice but think I'm going to put a few more blue streaks in it when my hair has recovered a little.
I've actually been doing a little less to my skin the past few days and the rosacea is looking much better, so I think I was just overloading it maybe. I'll leave it at cleansing and moisturising for now and see how it goes I think.carpe diem

Hi all - did you miss me? What do you mean, NO?
MrsWoolfe, I have to eat regularly too - GP's orders. No 'normal sized' meals for me, it has to be little and often. No caffeine either. There's other small rules I have to stick to too. People don't get it so instead of explaining each time (that gets boring for me), I just say no thanks. I've told everyone I know, if they choose to ignore it then that's their problem.
I had a good week, but must admit I breathed a sigh of relief as mr tru left for work this morning.
I want to go up a level with pilates but I have tendonitis in my right hip. I have some exercises for it, but it's taking ages to heal.
I usually like to do things from the comfort of my big sofa - today it's nail painting and eyebrow tidying. I even run my little business from thereBut we've been doing up the house, so all the things that are in the way have been put in the lounge. At the moment, there's a couple of tall plants, some pictures, ornaments and the laundry basket. It seems so cluttered, I can't relax in there.
My Hatebook has been split into Things I Can't Tolerate And They Have to Stop Right Now, and Irritations. At least I'm managing to declutter my brain
Proud of myself - I only ate chocolate 3 times last weekBulletproof0
