Good evening everyone.
Fab wise today - showed some colleagues a picture of my new bright red dress and got some nice comments and we had a good chuckle about stuff. Also admired a colleagues bracelet so we had a good fun laugh about blinging!
Then after work and having talked myself out of it, I decided to go for a run afterall and am so pleased I did! Felt a little stiff at first but the way back was ace! Might even go again tomorrow too then. Anyway usual skincare routine completed, just deciding if my nails can stand another day or not.Think they will and I'll lob on some more oil.
Had 3 chocolate biscuits today at work. I've managed to stay away from most of the treats at work but really fancied one today - then it turned into 3 and glad I drew the line there. Anyway popped it onto the diet plan and have gone over a little today, not too bad really. I had a very hungry day!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hello ladies, I hope you are all well and not too bogged down with all that needs to be done so close to Christmas.
Haven`t really had a lot of fabbing time but have been thinking about some changes I want to make to my life in the New Year.
To be honest my hands are dreadfully dry, have tried all sorts, its mostly on my knuckles and I know I should wear gloves when cleaning, but I am really quite ocd about dirt and mess and like to scrub and scrub, it has made my poor hands not very happy
I am going to be another one here so say thank you to you all for your kindness and tips and helpfullness and well everything else really. I do get lonely having no real friends to chat to be it is truly wonderful to pop on here and know there will always be someone who wont judge and has a kind word or two to say, which unfortunately in this day and age , I find to be extremely rare.
If I dont get on in the next few days I would like to wish you all the merriest of Christmases and that you make sure you cherish time with family and friends, or even on your own, be happy in your heart if you can as sometimes its all you have to see you through.
Big Christmas love to you all xxxxxxxxxx:TDetermined to save, save, save

Morning all,
LL - your mum sounds lovely, I've always rather envied people who can be happy and content with their life and happy to be homebodies. I do wonder sometimes if ambition is such a good thing when it just makes you frustrated when you're not where you want to be. How nice that your OH is getting such a lot of visitors - hope he's enjoying himself. And two business propositions - how exciting! Even if do you decide they might not be for you then must be nice to see that people have faith in you
Carmen - glad you're still with us - hope you're well
Molly - don't need to say sorry hun, nothing wrong with expressing your opinion x
Maman - hope your daughter had a lovely birthday, it's a little hard with birthdays around xmas isn't trying to make it feel special and 'separate' there's a tradition in OH's family of Xmas Day babies - they have about 7 of them! His nephew is the youngest and his brother and SIL are great at doing it - they do xmas pressies in the morning and then at lunchtime clear them away, he gets his proper birthday pressie in the afternoon and they don't do xmas dinner, they have whatever he wants for tea that year
Sky - thought your 'speech' was lovely
!!!!!! - so glad to see you're still with us. I think we're all thinking about changes for the new year so do come back and shareHope you have a lovely Christmas too x
Anyways, went to choir last night which was quite fun - she was doing a 'best of the year' kind of thing so was picking random songs from 6 months ago and we were frantically trying to remember the words :rotfl:Finished with a few xmassy ones and went for a drink afterwards - could only stop for one though as my last day of work today before I finish and have a pile of stuff up to the ceiling - most of which I'm not going to get done as the part time worker is off sick yet again! Ah well, xmas officially starts at 5pmAnd I did get an xmas pressie after all - came in to a bottle of Malibu on my desk which was sweet of them. Am supposed to be going for a massage tonight so should destress me ready for the holidays.
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
:santa2:
Thanks for good wishes. We had a lovely day yesterday. Went with DD1 to have nails done (both of us), then a coffee together, then chinese in the evening.
So my nails are looking good and I intend to keep them that way.!!!!!!, you really must take more care of your hands with the housework. I'm planning to clean some brass/silver (not much just a few family bits) later and there's no way I'm spoiling my hands. It'll be gloves all the way!
I think we're pretty organised for Christmas. I'm out tomorrow morning with a friend. We'll have a good old catch up and I'm taking her to a lovely country house hotel near here so we can relax in lovely surroundings. She's not been well lately so it's worth paying the extra. I'm going to write out my menu for the next week and then Friday I'll get the bits we need. I'm OK with non-perishables, so it'll mainly be veg. It's just four of us for Christmas but I'm going to make sure DH and I eat well when we're on our own too!:D
I've noticed that the BBC is celebrating solstice today??? but I'm going with tomorrow. I think my outfit (as a bit dictated by venue) will be pretty skirt, opaques, boots, cashmere jumper.
Well done on getting back to your running sparkles. I always start to crave fresh air at this time of the year so hoping to fit in a few walks. There was a lovely feature in my Sunday paper about gardens that are open/worth seeing at this time of the year. A number were at a reasonable distance from me so that's a possibility (note to self to retrieve from recycling bin!).
Don't really want to comment too much about little altercation on Monday BUT I can't let it pass without telling willow off for putting herself down! Hopefully it was a 'tongue in cheek' comment but I don't want to hear anyone saying they're not much use!! If this thread is anything it's for boosting self esteem. Not that we're a group of inadequate saddos but everyone needs a boost from time to time and I think it's great to bounce ideas/plans off each other.
Have a good day all, back later.0 -

Hello everyone - just stumbled into your forum and wanted to say hello. You sound like a lovely group of people, I recognise some of you from other threads - mind if I join you? Need to read back to find out what's happening with you all - but frump to fab is definitely my goal! In fact, have just spent some of my Christmas money on a set of gel nails - oh the decadence! 2012 is the year I turn 50 and I am determined to be glam and gorgeous - not fair, fat and fifty!Sober October = 0 alcohol free days
Weight lost so far = 0lb
No spend days so far = 00 -
I've obviously gone seriously wrong with my number sequence - told you I was hopeless at maths. I think the next instalment of Frump to Fab will have to be sans any numbering system.
Maman - re the Solstice - to all intents and purposes many people regard today as the Solstice - it is after all the shortest day i.e the least number of hours of daylight, so today is often seen as the Solstice or Midwinter's Day.
The actual Solstice is 05.30 tomorrow morning, tomorrow we'll get a whole 3 seconds of extra daylight. :rotfl: Today it has been really dark here.
Mookiepook - Hello and a very warm welcome.
Today we come to the end of Frump to Fab's second instalment. Fear not Fab 3 is just around the corner, so it's still a great time to join.
In fact - to all you lurkers out there - any day is the right time to join in.;)
Well now - it's time to review our progress so far.
As you've guessed I've not yet reached my goal - too much else going on.
However, Frump to Fab has been my lifeline. It's kept me on the straight and narrow and has helped me through the turmoil of the last 12 months or so. I may not be ready for my close up yet (Mr DeMille) but I look and feel tons better than I did this time last year.
Maybe not the Glamour Queen I would like to be, but certainly less Bag Lady. For now, well groomed, neat and tidy will suffice.
Thanks to a (fairly) consistent exercise regime I feel stronger and fitter, and I've managed to lose about one and half stones and drop a dress size - not too bad.
So all in all - a pretty good result.
So our next instalment will hopefully see a little less of me, further towards my fitness goals, looking a little more chic and stylish.
Obviously we are all getting very busy now and fabbing has to be squeezed in where we can. However, after the last few months we are all now well organised, super efficient and experts at time planning. Aren't we??? Of course we are, oh and we all have excellent posture.!!!!
Any new initiatives will probably now have to wait until after the Festivities and the dust settles again.
So ladies, now is the time to relax a little and enjoy the fruits of your labours, to bask in the compliments and to shine, sparkle and shimmer your way through the Festive Season.
However, don't slope off just yet. This is not the time for resting on laurels. Laurels that have been rested on soon look tired and sad.
Now is the time to build on our successes, re-evaluate any failures, and work out where we go from here.
Time for thinking about next year's goals, setting objectives, making a plan. Oooh I love plans.
What do we want to achieve, how are we going to achieve it, how to get to our destination of fabness.
Now, I have no wish to be contentious but I will say this. Despite recent discussions here - I will reaffirm my intention to take things at a fairly gradual pace, so that the changes I make are sustainable over the long term. It works best for me.
I am sorry if I take things too slowly at times, but sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. Life has a habit of throwing curve balls at us and we just have to "go with the flow".
Told you I was just an old hippy at heart.
So to those of you who will be leaving the thread for a few days to get ready for Christmas and who will not be able to post may I take this opportunity of wishing you all
:santa2:
A Very, Very, Merry, Christmas
And
A Happy, Healthy, Fab, New Year
Now - throwing this open to you.
Shall I'll continue to post on here for a few days yet and then open a new thread in January. Or, do we stick with tradition and start the new thread tomorrow.
Not that it really matters.............0 -
I would like to start a new thread tomorrow....but Im also happy to wait.
I cant tell you all how much I have got out of this thread and how much it has changed me. I am taking care of me a little bit more but I do know that I have the potential to slip back and also still need to progress my Fab routines. Im planning for tomorrow for the Solstice xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Lets have a new thread for tomorrow. No point putting it off and being a rather relaxed pagan I like the idea of going solstice to solstice
I am with you on the gradual pace LL. I don't have the time nor energy to go at it hammer and tongs. Slowly slowly catchy monkey. Or whatever that phrase is:rotfl: I need time to create new and healthier habits and doing it fast won't achieve that.
My biggest goal is twofold, work on self development and self confidence around my body image and get slimmer. Yet another year has gone by and I've not made any headway around mindful eating and losing weight. Rather lame when I think about it BUT no point dwelling on what has or hasn't happened. Learn from those mistakes and use them to my advantage.
Looking forward to a shiny new thread:D
And I'd just like to wish all you lovely ladies a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year. Here's to us all kicking @ss in 2012 :TI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
