Your mum sounds like such a lovely person!

She is - she's an absolute sweetie, she makes friends where-ever she goes. The thing I admire most and which I have tried to emulate is that she never judges anyone harshly, she always looks for the good first.

I have never, ever heard her say a bad word about anyone. I can tell if she doesn't care for someone or if she judges them to be a wrong 'un - she doesn't need to say anything - it's there on her face. Only I can see it, a certain purse of the mouth, a slight glint in the eye. My dad is oblivious but sis and I can always spot it.:rotfl:

Anyway Carmen - welcome back Twinnie - I've been wondering how you are. Have you had your op yet, are you ok, it's lovely to have you back.

Must go to bed soon, so please excuse me tonight for not greeting you all personally, though as you know I do read and digest all your posts.

Mrs W I too love hearing about your different cultural take on Christmas, especially the food descriptions;) Problem is they sound so delicious they make me hungry.

The birthday celebrations sound good ladies and I'm sorry that your Christmas "do" was a bit of a damp squid Tru. TBH I've never really enjoyed them much - they just seem so frenetic as if everyone is trying too hard to have a good time. DS2 went to his last night and has had the hangover from hell today - ruined his day off. He'll learn.:rotfl:

Happy birthday to your daughter Maman

Skymist - loved the Oscar speech.:rotfl::rotfl:

    G'night all x

I hope I've helped someone a little but I doubt that coz I'm not really much use :p )

You soft sausage - you're just fine, sweetheart.

Can I just say you sound so much brighter and happier these days. I'm glad for you.

Im sorry for all the upset yesterday. I too really appreciate all your support x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Nobody's trying here, we're all doing

And we really shouldn't be putting down other people's methods. A little bit of empathy/sympathy wouldn't go amiss if someone is having a bad day, even if it's just 'thinking of you' or a hug smiley - which I usually use because I'm rubbish with words :o

Maman - hope your daughter has a wonderful birthday!
I don't usually wear bracelets, or much jewellery tbh, so it will take me a while I get used to wearing it I think - but I've had it on every day so far so I'm getting used to it :)
It's too nice to only wear on special occasions I think and also...why not wear nice things every day? Why save things for 'best' then end up never wearing it? We deserve to wear nice things any day I reckon.

    Just couldn't resist this!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

No time to stop, hopefully I'll be back later. I'm taking DD1 to have her nails done (might fit mine in too) and spend a bit of 1:1 time with her. Then later they're all coming round for a chinese. Her request as it's so awful in restaurants this time of the year.

    Have a good day.

There is absolutely no need to apologise for anything - you didn't cause any upset whatsoever - you merely explained how you felt, which is only right and proper.

    Great idea.

In fact there was a post about this the other day on the Old Style thread, obviously more about using household stuff, china, linens etc. But I think the same thing applies with us, our clothes, a bit of jewellery, make up and of course, the original first step - a squirt of perfume;) I think it's the same principle - why have stuff in cupboards and wardrobes, wasting away when we should be using them and getting pleasure from them.

Well today I've had the obligatory soak in the bath with mineral salts and lavender oil - my back was sore and stiff again this morning because I had to do rather too many transfers on my own again yesterday.

I've also done a mini manicure and pedicure.

Off to have a little siesta & rest my back again.

Hope you all having a good day - it is dark here today. x

I'm glad it made you :rotfl: ....nothing like a good :rotfl:to make you feel good! I hope it wasn't too long or boring...just trying, (in an amusing way), to show my feelings for all the magnificent women, that give their input about EVERYTHING, here on this thread. I've learnt a lot!

 Ida Notion...nice to "meet" you! Please stay out of lurkdom...lovely post!
