afternoon all :) well I ordered a new dress on eBay and was hoping it would arrive today and it did, yay! It's a 1950s style swing dress in red with white spots, really full skirt that I can wear my petticoat under for a really big skirt!
I'm planning on wearing it tomorrow night when I'm out for my 30th - and maybe my new Rocketdog shoes which I got on ebay for grand total of.....drum roll please....£1.49!

Happy 30th Birthday Bratz :T:T:T:beer: (sorry that should really be champers).

Your outfit sounds lovely, hope you have a really fab time tomorrow. 30 is such a nice age.:rotfl:

pp - keep your chin up pet, and keep that smile fixed on your face. It's Granny I feel really sorry for in all this, your in-laws should be ashamed of themselves to treat her so callously. I'm sure she appreciates all that you and your OH do for her. You know what they say - what goes around, comes around - your outlaws will be old and infirm one day.

Molly - sorry to hear your tale of woe today. Try not to let it all get on top of you - remember the elephant;) Hope the scan went well.

    Stunning Generousity

Well today I finally managed to get down to the main post office to pick up the non-delivered item. Given that I wasn't expecting any deliveries I almost didn't bother. Thank goodness I did.

It turned out to be a card from one of OH's ex colleagues, the one that came to visit us last week. Inside was an envelope marked for me.

It contained a M&S voucher, for, wait for it £100. Now this lady is quite wealthy and £100 is small fry for her, but even so, I was astonished that she was so generous to me. I was absolutely stunned and have to say, I burst into tears when I opened it.

I've no idea what I shall spend it on - but it will definitely be something I can keep and treasure, something beautiful.

It just goes to show doesn't it, whilst some so called friends have stayed away and aren't worth the name of friend others are just so lovely and kind.

Did a load of shopping today, tried on some of Gok's clothes in Sainsbury's but didn't bother buying anything. They looked nice enough on the hangers but were a bit of an odd fit, although that may have more to do with my odd shape.:rotfl::rotfl:

Definitely need to get back into my exercise groove and tone up again.

Next year.:o Save that for Fab 3

    Bye for now x

Sorry LL, please remind me what the elephant denotes? (My brain is mush!)

Wow what a wonderful gift and obviously she meant for you to treat yourself xx

Feeling more bouncy now(private joke as I bounce off the furniture most of the time). The wicked witch has arrived (you know what I mean) so that explains the hysterical crying and the spots on my chin....grrrr. Anyway who would be a woman!!!

Hope you have a lovely evening and thank you for all your lovely comments x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    The Elephant

An old boss taught me this one. My time planning was awful and I used to run around like a headless chicken feeling totally overwhelmed, getting nothing done and achieving very little.

    It goes

Boss - "Can you eat an elephant"

    Me - "Of course not"

Boss - draws a picture of an elephant, then with a red pen divides the elephant into slices. "Now, if you divide the elephant into portions, put them in the freezer and take out one portion each day, could you eat an elephant".

Me - "Yes, of course, but I would probably get fed up with eating elephant every day".

Boss - "That's ok, you don't have to eat a portion of elephant every single day, you are allowed an elephant free day every so often".

When I feel overwhelmed by a task or a problem, I remember the elephant.:) I just break it down into manageable sized pieces.

I wonder why he didn't just sack me for being useless. :rotfl::rotfl:

He was a great boss and a fantastic mentor.

Re the voucher - yes she put a lovely little note in saying it was for me to treat myself "Because Lord Knows you deserve it". That's why I was so touched, not just the size of the gift but the sentiments behind it. She worked with OH for several years and absolutely adores him.

How had I missed it was your 30th bratz? many congratulations:T:T Please post a (headless???) pic of you in that dress. It sounds really great. I think you and MrsW share similar tastes for 50s fashions.

    Back soon.

Podperson - really hope your weekend goes well - as well as can be expected x

LL - many thanks for the Elephant info. I now have a mental picture of an elephant trying to squeeze into the freezer x

    Hi all,

Bratz - Happy Birthday :bdaycake: :j:j Hope you have a lovely day, and your dress sounds gorgeous.

LL - how lovely of your friend, think you have slightly restored my faith in karma with that story - as she's completely right and you do deserve it!

Molly - glad you're feeling a bit brighter.

Had a good night last night, enjoyed the film and had a few drinks. Been dashing round getting my errands done this morning and will have to start getting sorted for tonight in a bit. Has turned out to not be as bad as I thought - they are now picking his gran up on the way and have offered to give us some money towards the taxi fares there and back - am not too bothered about though as long as his gran is sorted out. OH is feeling better about it as well - though I know he still wishes they would make the effort to just see him rather then him always have to go along when they're having a meal out with the whole family.
    Hope everyone's having a good day x

    Hi all :santa2:

Just a quickie from me, I haven't caught up with you all yet.

I'm off to the Christmas do in 20 mins. I've exfoliated, moisturised, straightened my hair, sprayed perfume and put make-up on. I've also shaved legs and errrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmm trimmed. Not sure why I did the last one, I'm not planning on stripping or anything :rotfl:

Just having a very large glass of wine - I love my new glasses, they hold a third of a bottle :D

Oh and you'd be very proud - completely by accident, my knickers match my socks :D Zebra print :D

Fab wise today: a 2 hour walk today, usual facial cleanse, balm and moisturise and nail oil application. Tried hard to stay on guard calorie wise. Almost made it.

Tomorrow is way over kcal allowance, however not too bothered as off for a hike in the countryside for quite a few hours so it will balance out!

Tomorrow will be a nice soak in the bath with a face mask on after a full cleanse and gentle exfoliate then a heavy slather of face balm and plenty of moisturiser to recover from the brisk winter air! Then a hearty lovely tea of stwe and dumplings!
