    Morning all,

LL - I'm not sure about the runaway best-seller (though of course it would be nice!!) but feels good just to have started it after making excuses and putting it off for ages. Think you should definately look at the 'how to' guides - I believe there's quite a decent market for them at the moment.

Sophistica - I find your story really interesting, totally agree that there are a lot of people going to things like the seminar just looking for a magic fix or something - some people seem to think there must be an easy way to get rich or be successful that only people in the know are aware of - when in reality it's more hard graft then anything else.

Sparkles - loving the new names ideas, much more you :)

Callisto - of course you can read the novel when it gets finished (am going to be positive and say when and not if :o) will probably need guinea pigs to bore with first drafts of it anyway :rotfl:Hope the car's running ok for you today.

Rosieben - welcome - never too late to join, everyone on here is wonderfully supportive and you'll be fab again in no time! Look at taking baby steps and adding new things in slowly so they become routine.

Maman - hmm, Southampton - I'm a Burnley supporter (for my sins it seems this season). So very much needed win this week to take us back to mid-table - really tight league this season, think we're 5 points from the playoff zone and 5 points from the rele zone. Anyway, hope you have a lovely break.

Bratz - on dear on the stockings, sounds like something my cat would do! Interesting on the hair front as I have long hair and keep thinking whether I should try something new and have it cut short but never quite get the nerve up.

Anyways, went for my massage last night, it was quite good - although she did say that I seemed to struggle to relax and did I have a control problem as I kept trying to move myself around instead of letting her do it - how did she know :rotfl:Would have perhaps liked her to concentrate more on my neck and shoulders, felt quite relaxed last night but sat in front of the computer again today and can already feel it getting stiff. Was much later then I thought getting home so didn't get much else done - have to help OH with an essay for his course tonight so no writing for me until weekend by the looks of it :( I find it ridiculous how much writing OH gets given to say it's meant to be a practical/creative course - he's great with that side of it but really struggles with the writing and if I didn't give him help with it I think he would have been in big trouble with the course by now. It makes no sense to me that someone can be thrown off a creative course for not being able to write decent essays.

    Thanks for the welcome :)

I had a haircut today, sorted out some perfume and will be re-arranging my earrings on a new caddy stand so I can see what I have, might encourage me to wear them.

Welcome rosieben. It's never too late to join in and i've only been here for a couple of months and it's really helped me stay on the FAB track.

Fabwise here has been the 2hr walking day at uni and back and dog walk later on. Also had my haircut into my shorter length which i much prefer. Fell much better now a lot has been chopped off. Plus they've introduced a bigger discount which came in much cheaper and that really made me smile!

Well done Rosieben - Good Start.

Typing this whilst I'm photocopying SS invoices etc - multitasking again:)

Have a had a nice long rest on the sofa this afternoon, dozing and reading a magazine borrowed from the nursing home.

Off to cook dinner - nice and healthy - spicy chicken with cous cous and lots of vegetables.

Then I'm going to be very good - after writing a load of cheques for caring agencies etc (it's ok not from my account :rotfl:) I am aiming to start my Christmas cards, whilst watching TV in front of a nice cosy fire.

pp You poor OH struggling away with his essays. I agree about the unnecessary essay writing not only on arty/creative courses but these days, heaven forbid, also on practical courses like construction, and the various trades. Why on earth do you need to write a 2000 word essay when you are a potter/sculptor/plumber/electrician whatever.

Give me a couple of days to do the research and I could knock up a pretty good essay on just about anything from how to perform complicated brain surgery to how to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Doesn't mean to say that I would be capable of performing such feats though does it.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The pen may well be mightier than the sword but actions speak louder than words.

It's a good job he's got you to help him.

    Bye for now x

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I'm trying my best to be perkier, it's hard when it's cold and I'm sick of work xD

Does anyone know what the best hand cream is? The backs of my hands get really dry and sore in the winter. I'm planning on spending less than £5 on a good cream so if any of you could suggest any? :)

Willow, my mum and grandma both swore by Atrixo, but I like Boots vitamin e handcream.

LL, i think your body is reacting to the stress you've been under. When you know that your OH is settled I'm sure you'll see that in your own wellbeing.

Busy week at work, but am still fabbing :D

    Love & hugs to all,
    Floss xx
  • Hi Everyone. I am hugely relieved today..I have taken my courage in both hands and told my cleaner that I really don't need her for 4 hours a week (modern house and single person who is not out at work). We compromised on 2.5 hours a week with me doing the ironing. Well that saves £780 in a year. I felt a bit awkward but I am happy to have done it. My hairdresser also couldn't fit me in tomorrow so I had to colour my own roots (has any one tried the 10 minute root touch-up..it doesn't drip, blends with salon colour and does a really good job). So tomorrow, more courage is required and I will ask the hairdresser to just fit me in for a dry cut, will save money and stop me looking like a witch for the next few days.

On the hand cream front, I use Morrison hand cream in the extra large squeezy bottle...it's only about £1.50 and is as good as the expensive brands. On that subject I also use Lidl shampoo (not the very cheapest) but still very cheap. Honestly, apart from packaging I really can't tell the difference between products. Sometimes just for fun, I make up half of my face with products from Primark and the £1 shop and the other half with Lancome and Christian Dior...the difference is absolutely negligible.

And on the fabbing subject I have raised my game on tooth care. I started using an electric toothbrush with a timer a long time ago - this does make a massive difference. Then as the dentist was insistent, I started flossing and then recently I have started to use the inter dental brushes and mouth wash. I have also had my teeth professionally whitened and the difference to my smile is enormous...I have no dark areas in between my teeth at all. Lidl do the floss, interdental brushes and mouthwash for next to money.

    "See" you all tomorrow.

    Hi rosieben :)

Willow - I recommend Neutrogena Norwegian Formula handcream, it is a bit more expensive than others, but you only need to use it sparingly and it lasts ages.

Sophistica - I find it amusing to think of you making up half your face with expensive stuff and the other half with cheap stuff. :) Nice to know there isn't much of a difference.

LL - How do you choose a perfume and know that it suits you? Sorry if you have already posted about this, just tell me to read back through the thread if you have!

Bratz - Are you using extra treatments on your hair - if so are there any you would recommend?

I have my other sisters dog to look after tomorrow morning as well, so taking a naughty collie and terrier for a walk at the same time will be quite interesting!

My appointment this morning was cancelled, and I have to go on Monday instead for a day long course. I'm not paying for parking for the whole day in the city centre, so OH will give me a lift to the station and I will get the train (the joys of living semi-rurally!) Car has not been fixed yet, I can't seem to get across to OH that he shouldn't have tampered with it, he just thinks he was being helpful. If it means a garage bill because he can't put it right, then it was not helpful!

My eating this evening has been an absolute disaster, bought big bar of chocolate for OH, then ate three quarters of it myself, as well as pizza and garlic bread earlier. On the up side I did have two pieces of fruit and a healthy breakfast and lunch. Will try again tomorrow.

    Morning :santa2:

The once-a-day shot of caffeine is working wonders :D My brain wakes up much quicker in the morning and I'm raring to go by 8am. I think the more energetic you are, the more energy you have. Well, it's true in my case anyway.

I'm just sticking to the basics at the moment. I've been decluttering the house - it taking me a while because if I do it too quickly the others notice and decide they need to keep everything, lol. So just a few minutes a day.

I've been thinking about what I want in 2012. I'd like to do a bookkeeping course, I've found one that starts in January but it costs over £1000  so I won't be doing that one. I posted on another board, asking for advice and someone suggested open university so I'll look into that.

Also I've been playing around with GIMP - don't get too excited, I'm talking about a program that's similar to Photoshop, lol - and it's making life a lot easier and quicker when it comes to designing cards and stationery. So in the new year, I'll be working on that and getting my things online properly.
