Also, thanks guys for the well wishes. I've been reading up on the procedure/test I've to go for and although it's scary I think it should be ok. I've to get a colposcopy, and apparently my test results says that without treatment I'm at moderate to severe risk of development cervical cancer, surely with treatment it should be fine. Or that's what I've convinced myself!
My sister used to get abnormal results for all her smear tests and had to have quite a few of these colposcopies where they burn away the abnormal cells - is that what you have to have done? I don't think it's exactly a day at the funfair but far better to have done than to ignore it. As LL said cervical cancer is one of the most easily prevented. I don't think it's any less dignified than having a smear testIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Didn't want to read and run so just stopped by to add my good wishes too bratz. You've had some very reassuring news from those with experience. I'd say that if the doctors were really worried they'd be having you in for the procedure PDQ. So the fact you've no idea when the appointment will be is a good sign. Keep us posted.:grouphug:0

Hi all,
Apologies haven't been on for a few days, having another manic week (am trying to remember the last week that wasn't manic now!)
Bitsy - I got some nice winter wear at Asda a few weeks ago, some nice light jumpers - are in a longline with tapered sides and they sort of skim so quite flattering - and a knitted dress/tunic, though is a bit of a chunky knit so perhaps not what you're looking for.
Lizzie - hope you're feeling a bit more positive and glad your appointment came through with the counselling. Completely agree with trying to stamp out the little negative voice we all have. A few years ago I was feeling extremely low and all I could seem to focus on was negativity, I hated my life, everyone else seemed to be so much better then me, I just kept thinking about all the mistakes and bad decisions I'd made. Then I made a decision that I couldn't change the past but I could change the future - I didn't want to be in the same position in a few years so I sat down and actually thought about what I wanted - and that was surprisingly hard as I'd been coasting for a while and even before that just doing what I was expected to do. I then thought about what I needed to do to achieve those things. Obviously it's not going to happen overnight - still very much a work in progress for me :rotfl: but it makes me feel more positive to think that I am moving forward. Sorry, that was a bit of an essay but I do really relate to what you're going through.
LL - glad they're sorting out some equipment for OH, hopefully the keyboard will make things much easier for him.
Sophistica - what an inspiring story - completely agree with you about having to stamp on the little negative voice. Am still working on it though so sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't:o
Maman - sounds like you're doing great - out of interest, who do you support? My team won as well, but not a great performance as per the rest of the season, think we were against the only team in the league with a worse defence then ours
Bratz - good luck with the procedure, hope you get a date through soon x
Anyway, as mentioned another manic week. Went to choir last night, we're doing a busking session in the city centre the weekend after next so have been learning Christmas songs. A wee bit too early for me but am sure will have some Christmas spirit on the dayHave also started writing a novel, has been floating around for a bit and have been putting it off for various reasons but realised was just making excuses really as it's a bit of a scary thing to do. So forced myself to sit down and start and it is spilling out at least - whether it will be any good at the end remains to be seen :rotfl:Not much fabbing I must admit but got some shopping in yesterday so can do some healthier meals now. Am also going for a massage tonight - someone from my film group is in training and needs lots of people to practice on! Have never had a professional one done before but am constantly stiff round my neck and shoulders (think from sitting in front of computer all day) and sometimes get back problems so am hoping it will be helpful.
Hope everyone is having a good day x0 -
Bratz - I had CIN3 many years ago (before eldest son) so 20 plus and after Colposcopy and Loop Diathermy have had no trouble and four kids. You would think though I might be more careful though as Im now a year over and badly need my smear doing:eek::eek::eek: There has been so much to contend with that I have let it fall off the radar but will get it sorted asap xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hi Everyone
Good day here, went to physio, feeling a bit sore and battered but definitely "looser".
pp - well done on starting the novel. Hope it's a runaway bestseller.:)
I've started on a few notes for my memoirs - need to get the jist down before I lose my marbles.:rotfl:
It's funny I thought I couldn't remember much but once you get going the memories do start flooding back.
OH wrote his when he first became ill whilst he was still fit enough - they are so good, so witty and entertaining.
I'm also intending to do some "How to Guides" recipes, beauty treatments, make do and mend tips etc. I wish my grandparents had passed some of their knowledge on - in particular my English grandmother who was a keen amateur herbalist. She had hundreds of recipes but they were never written down.
I agree with the comments about WW - I only go because of the support element, I never follow their recipes, meal plans or buy any of their products.
I've just looked at my bank statements  and noticed that the WW payment has just gone out so that takes me to the New Year for my subscriptions. However, I have decided that I will cancel this - I know it's only £20 but I have just had a TIVO box installed and also there will be OH's computer dongle payments to take in account.
Mony a mickle maks a muckle as they say north of the border.:D
Let's face it regarding weight loss I do know what to do - eat healthily and exercise - it's not rocket surgery as DS1 would say. Just need to exercise a little willpower. Foodwise doing ok this week - lots of fruit and veg, cutting down on the carbs.
One thing I have noticed, especially this week. If I have a meal that is largely carb based for example last night it was Spaghetti Carbonnara then I don't feel properly satisfied and I end up with the munchies.
If I eat protein with my meal then I tend to feel fuller for longer and don't end up snacking as much. This is especially the case if it's dinner. For me a protein free pasta meal is only sufficient for lunch rather than my evening meal.
Right off to make a banana cake - the bananas are about ready to walk. I will "pinch" a small piece of banana and do a face mask at the same time. Then it's prepare dinner and then I really need to make a start on some paperwork.:( I really can't put it off any longer.
What do we want?
Procrastination.
When do we want it?
Tomorrow.

Hi All
Sounds if everyone is getting organised.
Bratz - I had that procedure about 30 years ago. Frankly it was no big deal, just like a gyne examination but with a slight amount of bleeding afterwards and almost no pain. God luck.
Fedupskint - have you thought of a name change? Something nice and uplifting like Richinspirit. I am sure it will brighten your day...don't let your name become a self fulfilling prophecy.
LL - I am cancelling my WW subscription to. Today I have lost another half a pound, just by eating what I usually do but counting a few calories. I have discovered that most meat has approx 300 calories per 100gms/4oz. And that a slice medium loaf has approx 60 calories. And really I don't need to know much more than that I just go easy on the oil, jam, chocolate and everything that we know has a lot of calories.
I saw that programme too last night on Money Seminars. I was riveted as I have been to all of those seminars and I know most of the presenters and people in the audience. First let me say that, I read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" when Kiyosaki was completely unknown and as a result of spending nothing more than a tenner on the book, I have made over a million and I don't have to work (right now that is!!!). Kiyosaki os not a scam and I thoroughly recommend reading all of his books, even if you just order them from the library. As far as the seminars are concerned, here is my take on them all:
Tony Robbins - Awesome guy. He has made a lot of people seriously rich and successful. I have been to two of his seminars and they are worth every penny...providing you put what you learned into action and don't just get bouyed up by the high energy and rock music.
T Harv Ecker - His Millionaire Mind Intensive is brilliant for changing negative views about money and the seminar is free and a lot of fun. If you don't want to get into debt leave your credit cards at home and do not "step up to the next level" ie. pay thousands for his other courses because you will be tempted.
Christopher Howard - He doesn't gel with me and there is a very hard sell on his free courses which I don't really agree with.
The truth is that no one got rich by working, yes, you can buy food and pay your mortgage but you can't become a millionaire by getting a salaried job. The rich have got investments, houses, businesses, royalties and they leverage their time by getting other people to do all the donkey work. They set up SYSTEMS. This year has been hell for me as I made a lot of programmes this year and my properties needed renovation and my parents needed my input - I couldn't have got through it unless I had paid and found other people to do my work for me...every time I had a job to do, I thought who could do this instead of me? If you don't leverage your time - like do less but achieve more - your results can only average.
if you want to make money, you can go to the free seminars and read all of the money making books. If you take action, you WILL succeed. It is not difficult, it requires first knowledge and then guts. Playing defence which is about saving money and not spending money cannot make you rich - it may keep you out of debt, it may appeal to your frugal side etc but it won't make you a millionaire.
On the fabbing side of things, I have done very little, I have bathed, put on perfume and make up...I could raise my game by organising some winter outfits with co-ordinating jewellery - and this would mean clambering into the loft to find the clothes but it could be worth it!0 -

Sophistica - sorry if my remarks about the TV programme and the seminars weren't very clear.
I wasn't criticising the use of seminars at all or indeed any of the trainers. I absolutely agree that investing your time, money and effort into seminars etc is a form of training.
I too have been to loads and found them to be interesting and informative. I was very fortunate in that I never had to pay for my attendance. My employers always paid - obviously they must have thought I was worth the investment:rotfl:.
No my point was how misguided some of the attendees were. I was thinking in particular of the young single mum who had spent £4000, and the young couple. I found the plumbers wife also rather a sad figure too. They just seemed to have stars in their eyes and were not grounded or focussed in any way.
They boasted of all this knowledge they were acquiring and yet were just sitting back and waiting. For what. I just got the impression that they felt all they had to do was attend the seminars, do a few exercises and chant a few mantras and it would all just magically happen.
As I tell my boys - good things don't just fall out of the sky and land in your lap. Opportunities don't come knocking on the door - you have to run after them and grab them.
Yes I totally agree that to be uber successful you need to be able to delegate and build up a good team and good systems - however that still requires planning, effort and work. You are a living example - you are obviously a focussed, hard-working go-getter. A real Alpha Female. You plainly don't just sit around all day dreaming and waiting for it all to come to you.
I've recently re-read The Rules of Wealth by Richard Templar - another good one. Bought it for my son to galvanise him.:D
I recently tried to buy a calorie book but couldn't find one. Any recommendations anyone. It may sound old fashioned but I've always been very successful when calorie counting. I find the new WW points system quite irritating. Tonight I made sure I had protein for dinner and I feel much better - no munchies tonight.
Sparkles - your new sparkly bracelet sounds nice - Sparkles by name, sparkles by nature.:)
Anyway - off to get some more paperwork done. Getting there.
G'night all x0
