    me again!

    re the face masks,

I use a couple : I have an aloe vera deep cleansing one I use on T zone every other week if I can manage it- just a cheapish one from superdrug but does the trick.

I also try and do the asprin face mask every week- but tbh it's when I can remember to fit it in- i disolve 4 asprin in a little bit of milk of magnesia and pop it on- does work wonders with black heads.

When removing the masks a hot flannel works for me and gets some gentle exfoliation in too.

One new thing I have started since joining this thread (thanks to LL's suggestions) is do a quick steam before using a mask- I pop a little bit of rosemary and tea tree oil in some hot water and steam and it does seem to be making a difference.

I also have a turmeric based mask that is to help with evening out complexions- is aimed at ppl with dark skin tho so not sure it would work for others!

I don't think you need to spend a huge amount - but maybe try a couple of the sachets first see if they work for you before buying a tube? that way you won't have wasted money if you don't like it? I think you can get them for £1 ish?

    Hope that helps

On another note Just ordered some elderberry capsules - read some articles recently about how good these are for boosting immune system- there was even a study done showing that it's effective on 8 strains of the flu virus and with all the sniffles going round at the moment I thought it was worth a try. Has anyone else tried this?

I've ordered the ready made capsules, but also found some easy receipes online to make your own elderberry extract- think I might get some dried elderberries next time DH stocks up on his homebrew supplies:D...of course the danger is that I'll just end up making elderberry vodka/wine instead....not quite so good for me methinks!:o

Have just been feeling so tired and worn out this last week- having a burst of energy today though for some reason but otherwise have been flopping onto sofa as soon as I get home- not quite ill iyswim but on the verge- I think the dosing up on good food and vitamins and sleep may have just held things off for now...fingers crossed

anyway no fabbing tonight for am off out for a curry with DH's work friends as one of them is leaving...I'll be good tomorrow promise!

Thanks lots of face mask tips there Mrs W - also thanks for the elderberry idea - really do not want to be coming down with anything. I'll have a look into getting some of them. I have been nodding off on the sofa this week.

    Good Evening x

Im struggling this week as my hubby is away with my DD - They both help me a lot and are my carers really. They have desperately needed the break but I have struggled. My two younger sons have been brilliant but one actually asked me if I should have had temporary help this week as he has seen how difficult it has been.

Anyway I have managed my basic Fab skincare routines and have been to the Osteopath today. Other than that I really cant be bothered and have to say that it's a good job my trackies were relegated to the charity shop, else i would be back in them. So I have been making the effort to dress properly. My hair is desperate for a wash but I have to have the energy to do this at night as I cant do it in the morning as my intracranial pressure is too high and I end up on the floor

Anyway I will be back and up running next week. I send you my support and best wishes x

Hi Molly, I think that you may need to think about help next time they go away, just incase. But you have survived this far, only a couple more days to go and they will be back.
You didnt look a mess today. I didnt notice anything wrong with your hair so dont worry. I just thought that you looked rather tired.
Chin up, and relax as best as you can tonight. I am around tomorrow if you need me!!

On my account, I am a bit of a disaster, thats why I went out in a shorter skirt and put my stockings on rather then the jeans that I have been in for the last 2 weeks!.
My skin routine is rather lack lustre though. So I better try and do that! before all the bags and wrinkles become etched in my face forever. (If thats not already too late!!:D).

Well visa versa Moo as I thought you looked very elegant in your skirt and top. I am so envious of your lovely long legs!!!
It is funny that how we feel affects the way we feel we look but may not be the actual case? So the mirror does lie to us and may not be how others perceive us?

Had many a problem with my "long legs" in life. They are slightly longer then my proportions would suggest, and 33" inside leg has been infuriating during my life, as trousers were 29" or 31". Hence I wore more skirts then I did trousers as I grew up!.:rotfl: I still prefer to dress properly as my mum would say. Although there was a time when I was expecting the twins, and just had them that the good old tracksuit was my main clothing. It was in 1988 time though. So most people had tracksuits as main fashion then!.

Today I am going to be sewing so trousers are probably the way to go. But I am going to have breakfast and then a shower to make myself feel better, and hopefully revitalised.

I've been for a run this morning as part of my fab routine, it went really well and I had a big smile on my face for going and not putting it off.

Not much other fabness apart from a nice long dog walk this afternoon. I need to do some cleaning, cooking and baking and studying to squeeze into the rest of the day so I'd better get a move on!

I''ll do my nail routine tonight and maybe a face mask too. My skin's looking a bit dehydrated atm, and could do with some slathering of moisture on it again.

    Hello Ladies

Just a quick check in - no real news.

Did finally manage to start some of my physio homework exercises for my back. It's the first time since I hurt my back that I've dared.

    Onwards and upwards :)

    G'night all x

    Morning girls :santa2:

My hands need serious attention! I've managed to dig a screwdriver into my left hand, and slice a finger open with a stanley knife on my right hand. Obviously I'm now too scared to touch any tools. Yesterday, I had to scrape the silicone off from round the bath, so I used my fingernails  :rotfl:

My hip is improving, I can almost sit on the floor with my legs crossed :D I never thought I'd be happy about doing housework, but it's nice to be able to get things done without limping and feeling twinges of pain.

Tru - Ouch on the hands, hope they get better soon. Are you up to date with your tetanus jabs. DS2 recently put a screwdriver through his hand - pretty nasty - had to go to A&E, they gave him a tetanus jab there and then.

As you know he works in a garden centre and I have been nagging him for 2 years that he really should have some protection. Mums know best;)

Anyway just been to see OH, then going to have a spot of brunch. DS1 has invited himself round for dinner - which is nice of course, but will have to get doing some extra cooking.

Very dark and dismal here, and bitterly cold wind - my poor old joints don't like this weather much.

Fabwise - have already given my skin a good slathering, I need to do my face again soon - it feels so dry. Definitely need to try a more "industrial strength" moisturiser. No nasty after effects from yesterday's exercises so will repeat again today and maybe just 2 kms on the bike.

Have been thinking a lot about what the New Year holds, after OH goes into care.

One thing that struck me when I have been writing Christmas cards is how many people I'm inclined to never bother seeing again.

My new plan will include doing lots of nice new interesting things as well as picking up the things I've let slide whilst looking after OH. Hopefully this will also involve making new friends.

I'm thing about various art/craft groups, joining the WI, possibly the U3A (Univerisity of the Third Age) and perhaps some form of travel club.

    Not all at once obviously.:rotfl:

First, I'm going to have a nice rest and a bit of a potter round my house and garden. From now on it will be gently does it. I need to regain my strength and get fit and healthy.

Anyway time for a snack and then get cracking.

Hope you are all having a good weekend, plenty of fabbing - in-between all that Christmas shopping.

Like a fool I decided to nip to ASDA yesterday afternoon, the place was heaving. No more weekend shopping for me until next year.

    Bye for now x

Not been around for a while, not felt like fabbing but when does that ever change :o:rotfl: Anyway this week I've been making more of an effort to moisturise my legs, something I am good at doing in summer, lousy at doing it in winter :o anyway I've only just noticed what a difference the coconut oil has made :o coming to shave my legs this morning it was so much smoother :D So have slathered it n all over, scrubbed feet with pumice stone this morning and applied Body Shop Hemp cream for feet, need to use the hand cream too. Did a bicarb face scrub in shower this morning and applied some Aldi day shimmer cream to face.
I really need to own up to the fact that I expect my body to look fabulous but don't actually do anything to help it :o Think I am stuck in my twenties where my body was far more forgiving and able to look fab on it's own :o
So losing weight issues aside I bought myself 3 pieces of knitwear, one of which is a long knitted jumper type dress. I may not have lost any weight over the last 6 months (well fluctuated would be more accurate) but that doesn't mean I can't make myself look as good as possible.

So you might all roll your eyes and sigh at me......heard it all before from me and you'd be right. Time for a bit more visual motivation, since I am cutting down on work I can put up more notes and reminders for myself round the house. Stuff like that I find a bit embarrassing to have round the house when mindees parents come to collect :o:o

Sorry this is a bit of a self centred post :o theres loads of posts to catch up on so I shall leave a pile of hugs, positive vibes and fabbing vibes for you all to collect ;)
