Hi Everyone. I have put the plugs on the lamps. It nearly killed me as my forte is telling people what to do and not doing it myself. All the nurses and carers arenow commenting on how well my dad looks and how nice his house looks. Bought a chandelier, two more bedside lights and a couple of pictures today. Perhaps i am becoming obsessed and should look for my next work contract! I thought of you all as i blow dried my hair and slathered on thebody lotion. Disastrous diet day. Ihad better join a SW club instead of relying on no existent will power/self control...i mean who can eat a croissant anmd TWO sandwiches and have wine, bread sauce and roasted parsnips on one day...and that doesnt include chicken eyc. I had better not think about it.0

Hello Ladies
Had a lovely time with OH's work colleague and partner who came a-visitng today. They only stayed a couple of hours because OH does get extremely tired.
I've hurt my back today (doing a transfer single-handedly). Not quite sure what tomorrow will bring. I may have to arrange for OH to go into respite for a few days. I will make a decision tomorrow morning. I have got physio booked for tomorrow so might just manage.
Problem is we've got a special treat day out planned for Tuesday and I really don't want to have to cancel because we will find it difficult to find another opportunity.
So I'm not going to sit for too long - makes it worse.
Off to bed now - just hop it doesn't completely seize up overnight.:rotfl:
G'night all x0 -

I also prefer a managerial role - problem is I'm such a perfectionist I often end up redoing things because I'm not happy with other people's work.
Sounds awfully cocky and I don't mean it in a nasty way. But I sometimes think I might be a just a tad OCD.:rotfl:
I must learn to just delegate and then relax.
Yes you can eat croissants, bread, etc. Today I've eaten for England. Was that chocolate muffin really necessary - tbh I don't even like them. How stupid is that.
Chandeliers - love 'em. I've bought three recently - daft thing is I've nowhere to put them because my ceilings are too low.
They were bargains - I might sell them on or might keep them for my next house.
Memo to self - next house must have higher ceilings and a real fireplace.0 -
Hey ladies not been around much because well the fabbing was non existant
Not even bothering to weigh myself as I think my expectations are a tad unrealisticRealised for the 100th time the weekend that things are not going to change unless I actually take some ACTION
Having lots of late nights due to DS not going off to sleep until nearly 10pm and so if I want to have time with H or watch some grown up TV it has to start then. It is catching up with me and I suggested to H that we only have a late night every other day. No exercise has been done but I have defuzzed legs, moisturised them, filed my nails (which set my teeth on edge ) but no other fabbing has been done
Sorry only speed read the thread but hugs for those that need them and keep on fabbingI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I've been managing to keep up with thread but very little posting recently:o Feeling tired but happy after lovely wedding weekend. I'm hoping for a quiet week to recuperate before it all starts again!
My outfit was a big success and I got lots of compliments. Without being immodest (well just a bit;)) I know I looked better than many people who'd spent a fortune. So, Tesco dress, Primark coat, TKMaxx shoes and a fascinator I'd made from a reduced Primark Alice band and a reduced corsage from DottyP's were a big hit!! What was great (and a big:T to the lovely people on this thread) was that I just did my make up effortlessly and knew it was right. So all my experiments and questions about eye stuff and tinted moisturiser etc paid off. So that's something else that's becoming a habit.
Downside was that I ate and drank lots of things that I shouldn't, not just Saturday but yesterday out at a buffet lunch. I won't list all the treats but I don't think wedding cake and champagne are high on SW list of healthy foods!!:rotfl:So today, it's back to my healthy eating plan with a vengeance, hoping to redress a bit of the damage before next WI on Thursday.
That's enough me, me, me.....
Sorry that some of you are struggling. Hope your back feels better after a night's rest LL and you too tru. I definitely think the daylight is contributory to feeling down but I wonder whether general depression over recession is part of it too? I was interested in the lamp callisto, mentioned. Does anyone know if one of those daylight lamps you get for embroidery would work in a similar way?
Hope the course went well molly. Do tell us about the patchwork. I checked out a local stitch'n'!!!!! (sounds like) group on Friday. I didn't join, just checked the coffee shop and the time (and eyed up other members:o) ready for another day. I need to start something that I can take. I MUST finish some patchwork I started years ago. I also really enjoyed knitting last winter and I do enjoy embroidery too. Must motivate myself!! My hairdresser is in the village where Kirsty joined the WI for last week's programme so that was a hot topic of conversation when I was having my hair done on Saturday.
Haven't been able to catch up with everyone by name, but thinking of you all. It's like having a good natter with old friends.:)0 -
Morning all,
Haven't been on much lately as bit of a manic week at work last week and then ended up spending the weekend catching up with housework and helping OH with his uni work. He's been getting bad again lately with his anxiety issues and tends to mean he struggles with his work as he'll just look at it and worry about it for hours instead of actually getting anything done. Has asked for an extension on one assignment and have told him to try going back to the doctors this week and see if they can do anything for him. Making me a bit frazzled and means I have got nothing done with my open uni or with the writing so feeling a little down about that.
Anyway, am meeting a friend to go to the piccies after work tonight so hopefully will cheer me up a little. Hope everyone is well and doing great with their fabbing x0 -

hello Ladies and Lurkers!
have not managed to get on for a couple of days- have had an incredibly manic few days.
This weekend my lovely cousin came over to sort out the fence, unfortunately he could only get Sunday off from the extension job he's working on at the moment, so we spent Saturday day getting rid of the old picket fence, breaking up the concrete posts and digging for where the fence would be going, then all of yesterday getting the new fence up- it was all a bit mission impossible: 94ft of fencing, one day and some helping hands:D crazy but we did actually managed to get the lot up :j:j:j boy do I hurt now though!
yesterday workwise I painted the base of all of the fence posts, doesn't sound like much but they were pretty heavy (10ft 4x4) then spent the rest of the day cooking - from 7am I didn't actually sit down until 6pm my feet are aching my muscles are screaming and I'm having to rely of caffine to get through today but it's worth it! I will have to do some major pampering this week- my hands are awful and skin feels icky ( my word of the moment courtsey of my 5yr old neice who also came yesterday:D) I think the aching is more to do with all the work of the day before- the sledge hammer is fun on the first post, by post 15 it's gotten really really old!
The food was a sucess and throughly enjoyed which always makes me happy, had a little experiment spicing up some winter veggies for me- everyone else said they didn't want any veg- in fact I think my cousins words were along the lines of " Just Give Me A Spoon and clear the way to that Mutton Curry - the smell has been driving me nuts!!!", but of course they all wanted to try the Veg and it seems that was as much of a sucess:D:D
And as if that wasn't enough activity for a week end, we also had tickets to see Imelda May on the Friday- wasn't a major fan before but I definately am now, live the woman is just amazing, beautiful voice and lovely personality she really cheered both me and DH up and we had a good old boogie too:D
Then on the Saturday eve, it was one friend's birthday and another friend had his first solo gig, so we felt we really should go and support him- he did great, lots of fun had....I just feel a bit loopy and sleep deprived today;)....at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
so tonight will be long bath ( I tried yesterday but honestly it was as much as I could manage to turn the shower on and lean against the wall:o) face mask, something simple for dinner and an early night!!!
HOpe everyone is having a good day!

Sorry ladies but going to be a quickie for now.
As I feared my back has completely seized. OH has had to go into respite - there's absolutely no way on earth I can look after him at the moment.
Can hardly walk let alone drive or do anything, His PA did all his packing etc and delivered him to the nursing home for me and DS2 has taken the day off to help out. He's just nipped out to do some extra shopping.
Don't know how long this will last so will just have to be patient and wait for things to improve.
As for fabbing - well I'm just about managing to feed the washing machine and tumble dryer between stints on the sofa.
Oh well will just have to have "easy" meals - luckily the freezers and cupboards are pretty full and watch a few films, read a book etc.
Hope you are all well - keep posting I will need something to read:rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry it's not a better post but need to recline again.:o
Bye for now x0 -
Oh LL! I'm sorry sorry to hear that! rest up as much as you can- will a hot bath help?
here's a virtual hug for you ((((HUG))))
take good care of yourself and hope you are feeling better soon xxIf you're afraid of the big bad Woolfe....beware of the Mrs!:rotfl:
