  • Btw LL re the dodgy stomach, i have found best way to avoid problem is to wash your hands as soon as you come home and give them a good surgical wash i.e was inbetween fingers, thumbs and then wash the nails in the palm of your handand use a sanitiser on yr worktops and door handles. Also heat all of your food to steaming hot at the core. And refrigerate food as soon as you get home. I havent had a dodgy stomach since i havestarted this obsessive behaviour. You may just have a virus! Imake learning programmes on these gripping subjects.

    Morning :hello:

I would like to say that I've been taking it easy for the past couple of weeks, but the truth is I've just been really lazy :o:D I've used make-up and perfume, but only the days when I've left the house - so four times. I pulled something in my hip, the pain goes down to my knee on the outside of my leg. There's a thing (it has a funny name and I can't remember what it is) that runs between your knee and hip. It's tightened right up so now I have to do exercises for that. Getting really fed up of having a weak pathetic right leg now rolleyes.gif Also mr tru dropped my rebounder on my left foot, so I haven't bounced for nearly a fortnight. I'm really missing it so I'm going to do a couple of minutes this morning and hope my leg is OK with it.

As for me, not feeling that fabby atm. No running this week but did drag myself up and get out for a run this morning which was good. So at least some fabbiness today then. I did treat my hair yesterday too to a pre treatment and mask. Nail oil still going on well and doing a good job and trying to remember to put some foot cream on once a day

    Tomorrow's fabbiness will include
Manicure, nail buffing and nail oil
    Exfoliate and face mask
Hair treatment again and hair mask
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333

LL hope you're feeling better today. I too am very much affected, both physically and emotionally by the weather. Fortunately it has been lovely here since Thursday and it is supposed to be nice again tomorrow. We are going to do a long country walk followed by a nice pub lunch with my friend and her daughter.

Tru hope you're on the mend too. Sounds really painful :(

Spohistica sounds like you had a good day despite feeling unfabby. How strange the man cut th eplugs off. Misery!

I was so tired last ight so went up to bed before 10. I think I had my best night's sleep since OH went and didn't wake up till gone 8.30 this morning. We have just had a lazy morning. I've washed hair, made up, straightened hair and sprayed perfume but it's all quite a disguise. Underneath my jeans I know how hairy (and scarey) my legs are . Might tackle them tonight as well as a bikini line job....

Have a good day everyone, we're off to see some xmas lights being switched on i the next town this evening :)

thanks for the good wishes all - haven't been on for a few days but have caught up now.
Wedding was fabulous and the bride and groom looked so happy. Can't believe it's less than 7 months to my wedding now!!

Family crisis is still ongoing, though not as bad, so have been a bit distracted and not concentrating on fabbing, just doing the minimum, makeup, lotion, matching clothes, but nothing else extra.

I've been missing for a few days as well! Been catching up with Uni work mainly, I only have 20 more pages to read, then I am up to date with the study planner. I thought my assignment was due this week, but it is actually next Thursday, going to try to get first draft completed by tomorrow evening.

I have managed three lots of exercise this week, 2 x exercise bike sessions (35 and 40 minutes) and I took my sister's dog for a walk today for an hour. I am part time dog sitting while my sister is on holiday in Australia (yes I wish I was there too!) I have also actually done some situps! :D Tomorrow I am going for a walk in the woods, mainly to get some fresh air in between studying and housework!

LL - Have you considered getting a specialised lamp to give you some extra light during the winter? I've got a 'blue light' lamp (I got it at a reduced price last year as I agreed to complete a survey about it.) It has an alarm, and then the light comes on for 25 minutes each morning (light can be set to come on for up to an hour) Sometimes I find it wakes me up, but other times it makes no difference (but this is usually when I have gone to bed later than I should have anyway!)

Fabbiness has been restored here :). I've finally tackled the undergrowth that was my legs and also done my bikini line too. Slathered all over. Feeling very much female again :)

    Might even paint my fingernails.

Going to slob on the sofa and watch A Touch of Frost (my guilty pleasure) and eat the toblerone my ex left behind (or rather that I didn't give back ;)).

Good evening ladies, hope you are all well.

There's lots of good stuff going on here, good to see you are all keeping up with your fab routines.

Some of you say you've only done your hair and make up and sorted out your outfits but the way I read it, it sounds as if these routines are now becoming almost second nature.

OK so maybe you don't always do the whole facial/manicure things that often - but really I don't think that matters. In many ways they are "extras".

I think the main thing is what I call the basics - grooming, skin care, nice clothes, nicely styled hair and a bit of slap as and when the mood takes you.

Sometimes I think I've not made much progress - especially when I stop to consider that I've been on this Frump to Fab journey for nearly a year now. I would have liked to have been much further forward by now.

However, when I compare myself with how I was - I do look better - at least most of the time.:) I'm certainly dressing better, and am better groomed. OK - maybe not ready for the cover of Vogue yet, but certainly not "The Big Issue" bag lady look I was sporting a year ago.:rotfl:

Re the daylight issue. TBH this is the first time that I've been aware of it being a problem for me. I've never felt these energy swings before. I'm thinking it's more to do with my situation and the attendant stress levels. Also, in many ways I do feel that I've become almost housebound. I simply cannot leave OH alone for more than 30 minutes or so.

So often, even when the weather is good, I just don't manage to get any real benefit. In the past I've always been out and about, even when I worked I was out and about on site, I cannot remember how long it's been since I had a traditional indoor only 9-5 desk job.

I'm just not used to being confined indoors so much and TBH I think sometimes that's the problem - I get a bit stir crazy. Sounds awful I know but I really miss my freedom to just go out whenever I please. Even a short walk has to be planned like a military operation.

This of course will all change soon, so it will be interesting to see if my "obsession" with light eases. :rotfl:

Same with the tummy problems. Thanks for the tips ladies but it's definitely not a virus - it's just stress. It will ease off all in good time - just need to nurse it along and avoid wheat and carbs.

Given that I've been hovering up food rather too efficiently the last few days, I have today stocked up on healthy stuff - lots of fruit and veg.

I bought two lots of cheddar (cheese is one of my real downfalls). I immediately grated the lot and put it in the freezer so I can't snack on chunks of cheese every time I go near the fridge.

Managed to finish planting the hedge today.

Oooh - Pan Am is just starting.

    Back later. x
  • Just finished watching Pan Am - good fun, loving some of the clothes.

Tru - hope your leg is feeling a bit easier today. Must be very painful.

Well - I may not completely have got my mojo back - still no exercise:( but do feel a bit less tired. Slept better last night and have managed to stay awake all day today.:)

DS2 bought me a load of tulip bulbs which the garden centre was selling off half price so will try and get them planted up next week.

Tomorrow will be a busy day - one of OH's old work colleagues and her partner are visiting him tomorrow. So will need to do them a nice lunch. Will also need to clean the house a bit first.:o

Sophistica - the lamps sound wonderful. The plug thing is definitely a bit odd. Big mansion or not - sounds like he needs some quick cash because he does seem to be selling things a bit cheap.

Are the lamps for your personal use or are they "stock" ha, ha. There are a couple of pieces of rather nice glass in Dr Barnado's I keep looking at, Murano I think. However, they are a bit steep for a charity shop. So far I've resisted.

The lady there has asked me if I would be interested in volunteering. It's a lot easier to get to than Scope (parking is a nightmare sometimes) so I may well go for it in the New Year. I do miss my little volunteering stint. However, I don't want to commit myself just yet. I want to make sure OH is well and truly settled first.

    Anyway time for some zzzzzz's.

    Good night all x

Still reading but am currently away on a course - WI Patchwork for Beginners!!!

I noticed that my "Fabbing" routines had really payed off in relation to packing for the course. Instead of the blind panic, I was able to put outfits together and co-rdinate my appearance.

I have been continuing with my routines but desperately need a hair cut. In a week it has gone from styled to shaggy dog look. Anyway that is booked for next week. I have also continued to eat mindfully.

Well please forgive me for not mentioning people personally but my dongle is temperamental at best. Im thinking of you and wish you a peaceful Sunday and make time to do something FAB for YOU xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
