    Morning all,

Mrs W - so glad kitten is ok and you found the ring :j It's lovely people are rallying round for you, nice to see that there might be some scum out there but there are still some nice people as well.
Although LL - it just baffles me how people can be so cruel as to target an 89 year old man. I agree with Sky you have to wonder what the world is coming to sometimes! When we moved up here the same day we moved out of our old house it got broken into (obviously knew someone on the street who'd seen the van leave) since there was hardly anything left in there they pulled up the stone flags and took all the copper piping from the bathroom and the boiler cupboard. A neighbour saw them and reported the licence plate to the police - who know exactly who it was, apparently they are very well know to them, but because the neighbour was too scared to go to court in case of reprisal then they claimed they couldn't do anything. Couldn't afford to get the repairs done and wasn't covered on the insurance so ended up with the property eventually getting repossessed and us being stuck with a massive bill for the shortfall. So they get away scot free and we'll be paying this off for years to come - I wonder sometimes about my karma!

Poles - hope you're ok hun, know it doesn't feel it now but if that's how he felt that better to know now then months or years down the line. Hope you're keeping busy x

Fairly quiet night last night, did plan on curling up with my book but OH was complaining he'd barely seen me so just chilled with some music and played a few games. Felt a little bad as wasn't in the best mood for it really - feeling a bit down this week and am not sure why - maybe just with being so busy and frazzled the last few weeks is catching up with me. I tend to just push through it and hope for the best :o Will try and chill out this weekend I think.

Fantastic news!! I am so pleased for you and glad that the kitten is OK.

maman - that reminds me I must get back on the OCM as I have found it beneficial, it just seems easier to have a quick swipe over with a wipe at the moment.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. Today is a bad day but tomorrow I will feel better. Got quite a bit planned at the weekend to keep me busy.

Keep fabbing and hope everyone has a safe and positive day :)

    Hi Guys x

One of those days for me too. I overdid it yesterday as DD and I went to Ikea and it is such a huge place :eek::eek: Never mind though as I treated myself to some lovely new cushions so have given my living room a "Fab" facelift. I spend so much time at home and have started to think that it is important to make my environment as cosy as possible. Really the whole house needs decorating but that is not going to happen anytime soon so thought a few tweeks here and there might do the trick.

So Im confined to barracks today but that is ok as my dogs are keeping me company. I have though done my skincare/ hair and my toenail so all is not lost:T:T:T

Hugs for a good day and my thoughts are with you xx

Dreadful story about your old house podperson, incredible repercussions for you.

I'm not being personal but what sort of games did you play?:o DH and I just seem to split up after supper every evening while I go to flop in front of telly and he goes back to the computer. There are so few programmes we both like.

What a super attitude but I'm sure it's easier to say. Well done:T

I seem to have spent hours in there lately molly and I still get lost:rotfl:They do have some nice stuff. It's where we got our wardrobes for the guest room. New light fitting went up this morning so it's coming together well. I agree completely about fabbing your surroundings. It's very hard to relax if you aren't happy in/with your own home.

Not much fabbing yet today but I am going to make up properly in a moment as going out to a meeting and determined to make an effort. I just stuck a bit of mascara and lippy on this morning. Although someone said yesterday that they include healthy eating and I think that's a great idea. I've got paprika pork in the slow cooker (new recipe from SW) for later and it's got loads of veg in it so that's one thing I'm definitely keeping up with.

    Back later. x

Great news about the ring Mrs W :j:j What a relief for you and yes, I agree there are some wonderful peeps out there. Of course your family are going to rally round - that's what families are for - at least I know mine would.

Some favourite foods and some home baking might be called for.:D

Molly - good idea about the cushions - it doesn't take much to do a quick cheap and cheerful revamp - you could always give your room a lick of paint in the spring.

That's one thing I will definitely have to do next year once OH is nicely settled - the whole house is wrecked. I did a quick lick of the paint in the lounge and dining room and OH's bedroom, but already there are more wheelchair marks etc.

We have wooden flooring throughout and it's ruined - hopefully we can sand it down and start again. Walls and door frames have gouges in, the bath is cracked, same with wash hand basin in the main bathroom, had to get rid of one sofa - the other one is looking very sorry for itself, there are hand rails and grab rails everywhere, the list goes on and on.

Never mind - that will be my main project for next year - it'll keep me out of mischief.:rotfl: I have decided that I will do a couple of DIY courses first - I'm pretty handy anyway - but am going to do a basic tiling/plastering course, and hopefully some basic woodworking skills.

Podperson I am appalled at what happened to you with your house and the ongoing financial repercussions - have you no redress at all.

When I worked on site we could never install boilers until the last possible moment. One clever builder decided they weren't going to pay for security guards - after a couple of weeks they soon changed their minds;).

Copper is currently fetching astronomical prices and metal theft in general is a huge business.

Spoke to FIL and he's seems ok - he's a resilient old bod, bless him. OH's PA's daughter went to the rescue centre and got a huge dog - a German Shepherd cross - can't say as I blame her. To be burgled whilst you are at home must be terrifying.

    Back in a mo

WW WI today - put 2lbs back on:( Still never mind. 6 weeks to go - I could perhaps still manage half a stone - will just keep trying.

Bought a nice little black and white tweed effect jacket from Cancer Research £4, and some pretty little coasters for £1. Made a start on Christmas shopping and bought each of the boys a car seat cover that warms up. Nice warm derrieres for the winter.

Other than that, nothing much happening here.

I like the sound of the Benefit mascara, Maman - in fact I was reading about it in my WW magazine. Might give that a try - my eyelashes are pathetic straggly little things these days, can't manage false ones. Did have some extensions done at a salon once but they didn't last 5 minutes.

Anyway off to make OH his cup of tea, cook dinner, and do a bit of yoga.

    Phew, another day gone. ;)

Just a quicky before DH gets home & wants feeding...am supposed to be ironing  :rotfl:

Great news about your precious ring Mrs W - when we got done I lost all my 18th & 21st jewellery gifts, some from people who are no longer with us :(

Have been fabbing a little but not a lot...but I'm saving myself for a salon fabbing session tomorrow - waxing legs & eyebrows, eyelash tint & nails plus my hairdresser's coming after that lot to tidy my locks & do my roots :D Then its hi ho, hi ho, it's off to the spa I go :rotfl::D There will be alcohol & nibbles involved though, and lots of gossip :p

Have almost packed but am having a dilemma re my new dress & shoes....I have a gorgeous pair of black suede leather kitten heel boots and am wondering how they will look with my dress - will they make it too 60's? Should I stick with my platform mary-janes? Help!!

Ooh, DH has just parked up - will go & look industrious, maybe he'll take pity on me slaving over his shirts and break out the wine box! :rotfl:

A little fabbiness here while I try and get rid of the cold that's descended on me

I bought a new coat today for £20 in Mr Ts after they reduced all coats - purple with a wide collar and 3/4 straight length. I have not had one in this style before and also its the first size 12 coat I've bought for a very very very long time - good result all round!

Weigh day tomorrow but I can't imagine I've lost anything this week as I've over eaten really with this cold. Having said that I think every day this week someone different has told me I look thin or slim - now that is weird and unusual and made for a slightly strange week, not had one like that before!

I realise it pales into insignificance compared to what others on here have had to deal with recently but it did make me smile about it when I typed it out above.

Tomorrow I am determined to liberate something different in my wardrobe into work wear and wear my new coat and a matching bag I have, I might fit into a skirt I haven't worn for over 5yrs. I'm going to try it on later and see.

I hope this cold goes so I can get out for an early morning run before work. I've missed it this week, surprisingly!
