I've had no orders cancelled whatsoever.
They even e-mailed me another voucher when an DVD was supposedly out of stock (received it two days earlier).
If you're stupid enough to place 3 orders (i.e. greedy) a day every day, then you're asking for trouble and deserve to get your orders cancelled IMHO.0 -
Hi,
Does anyone have their orders cancelled but not getting their refund back?
I made a few orders last week, but they were all cancelled, then I checked my credit card and they are not refunded. So I sent an email querying when are my refunds, and below is the reply:
Hello
Thank you for your e-mail.
The reason you have not been getting your refunds is because it costs the company money to keep processing refunds on your orders that have vouchers on that you are not entitled too. We have cancelled many of your orders for voucher abuse and sent you emails to advise you are breaking our terms and conditions, yet you still continue to put the orders through.
Until you stop doing this we will not accept orders from you as you are breaking our terms and conditions over and over again and are again costing the company money to process refunds.
Any future orders you place whereby you are using the vouchers you are not entitled to, your order will be cancelled but not refunded.
Kind Regards
Vicky

Is this legal? First of all, I did not receive any emails and the orders were simply cancelled and no replies from them. So I was not warned about this.
I want to know can they do this, ie not refunding, simply keep quiet about until I sent an email asking it?

Hmm, think I'd be a bit annoyed if they did this to me ! Mind you, I've only one outstanding order and all my orders have been for items of £5.99 so not much to loose if they cancel that last one !
I don't know what to suggest I'm afraid as I'm not up on this kind of thing. I wouldn't have thought that they could keep the difference in payment ?!?!?0 -
You can dispute them with your debit card company and then issue a chargeback.
I would email them and tell them that if they do not refund the charge I will tell my bank to dispute all charges and then you will be charged a £25/£30 chargeback fee.
They are not allowed to cancel your order and then keep your monies.
I would also from now on use a credit card as this is much simple to do.
AND BTW it does not cost them a penny to refund to your card as that service is included. What it costs is for them to cancel the order and then press the refund as it takes them time to do it.0 -

I used credit card to buy the dvds. I think I'll try to reply to them asking for refund before going the dispute route with my credit card company. If I raise the dispute case with my credit card company, does this affect credit scoring or is this something troublesome to do eg have to answer questions, write in to apply the dispute? I wouldn't borther if this takes a lot of work to do.

I would guess (and its a guess not a fully factual statement) that they have every right to cancel your order, or not honor the value of the voucher and provide you with the item at full cost, but the situation as it stands (or as i read it ) is that they are charging you merely for the cost of cancelling an order they dont feel you are entitled to AND Not providing the product. That cant be legal ???
You dont indicate how much they are charging you, if it was a small amount then I wouldnt kick up too much fuss (especially if i got away with re-using a voucher numerous times that I wasnt entitled to). If we are talking a great deal then I would put my hands up and apologise and see if you can negotiate a partial refund.
A lot of people feel that if the system allows the voucher to work and processes the order then its 'acceptable' obviously they feel differently.

Yes, you read right. For example, I order a dvd of £6.99, they simply cancel my order (with £5 vouchers) and not refund the difference ie £1.99!!
I made about 11 orders over the whole of last week, and most of them cost are between £6.99 to £8.99, so with £5 vouchers, so we are talking total of £30-40 refund here.
I agree that what I did is abusing the system, and should not make a buss about it. I'll probably let go if it's less than £5, but not that much.....
